Haha, me also check every few days, still showing 2Qtr... Mine on 25th Floor. -
If i am not wrong, seen something similar at XZQT. But being XZQT, always overpriced and i think it cost a few K. Not very sturdy also.

Thanks for the suggestion, will most probably use string curtain. But still dun quite understand this thing about "Fortune Place" Is point B still the "Fortune Place"? Heard good to place to have the water element at the "Fortune Place".

25th floor, grilles or no grilles? Thought of only installing in the kitchen cos that is the only window next to neighhbour unit. 25th floor does look a bit scary without grilles but then again, we are not always going to stand at the windows and look vertical down. Really dilemma, cos do not like the look of being "cage in" yet as some said, for safety. My sis already jokingly said she not bringing my nephew to my house liao ...

Hi MaCe, are u refering to corner A or B? Or non of the above? Btw, the windows at corner B is full height windows, so i guess cannot be this one right? What do u mean by all the good QI cannot collect and will all go thru the bay windows? My baywindows should be something like this. Not really sure cos not yet got keys. Got this pic from one of fellow forumners blog who is from the same development. Dun really understand what u mean by "need to cover the windows to about 1.2m height with solid wood." Are u refering to if the wall hollow in underneath the windows, need to cover that portion up with wood or low cabinets as u suggest.

My place is in Tanglin Halt. Sandstone looks like a nice colour, will take note of this colour. Do post more pics as your reno progress, looking good.

Warm Lights
TYM replied to midiman's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
If you are using incandescent light bulbs, then u will feel warm. Cos they give out more heat than light, and they consume more electricity. -
Heard is sometime in May/Jun. Seems like Galaxy is a very popular colour. Bryan Wong always use this colour in the reno show. Cannot see very clealy, but is the colour of your wall on the passageway to bedrooms Walnut Brown (not sure correct name of not)?
-
Nice colour choice. Also intend to hack our kitchen wall like yours, seeing your kitchen, can wait to hack our walls when we get our keys. Hey your nick is "Air", so r u getting your furnitures from Air Division?

Hi Blackmano_juice, Your doors really look nice with the solar films. Will take note of Danny's contact and ask for quotation when i got my flats. Tks!
-
House's door? Or is it windows? hehe... Was also toying with the ideas of putting solar film to block out some UV rays and light so that can do some simple curtain fittings or blinds. But am worried that the house may look a bit dark in the day time if too much light is blocked. So far hows ur experience with the solar film and what % of light transmission do u recommend? 2 yrs for the Korean brand does not seems like a very worthwhile investment.

As advised by some ID i spoke to, roller blinds are more suitable for rooms where the windows cannot be open or seldom open. Else like what some fellow forumners say, when it is windy it will be flapping and keep hitting the window panes. Thats y most offices have roller blinds. As for roman blinds, nice looking but can be quite troublesome to take down for washing and put it back after washing. Anyway, are all the contacts stated in the previous postings still available cos they are like almost 2 years back.

Some more ques: Is this dryer function like those stand alone dryer using heat to dry your clothes? If it is, then not for me cos dryer use a lot of electricity? If the dryer function (sway sway) break down, can u still use the washing machine like a normal one?

Utility Bills
TYM replied to HSH21's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
After reading the experiences and bills of fellow forumners, really have to plan properly when getting electrical appliances for my new place. Just sharing some things we have done in my current house (Mum's place) to reduce the bills. Now is abt S200/mth for 5 pax. - Choose electrical appliances with low wattage. High wattage electrical appliances consume more electricity. Eg, thermos flask, air-con, vacuum cleaner, water heater, iron, HTS, hair dryer, etc. - Aircon. Seldom switch on. Will not be installing in my new place. - Switch off when not in use. Leaving electrical appliances on standby also consumes electricity (there are some who switch off thier desktop but did not turn off the monitor, note the monitor is still on standby mode). This includes wireless router. - Avoid or reduce usage of electrical appliances with heater/heating element. These are the major culprit. - No thermos flask, constant boiling and re-boiling. Boil one time and store in vacumn flask. Change everyday and water from the vacuum can be transfer to fridge or use to water plants, cooking etc. - No electrical hob, big time consumer of electricity. - No cordless phone. Leaving charger on 24hrs is wasting electricity. Will not be fixing house phone as HP is more than sufficient. Furthermore, my HP is from company, so FOC. - Use energy saving bulb (all changed to 5W-12W). No incandescent bulbs (60W!), inefficient lighting that generates a lot of heat. - Washing machines. Minimise the soak function. Soak in pails instead and wash in full load. - No dryer. Again, another major culprit. Look around the house, see whether any other electrical appliances is lying idle and wasting electricity. Nothing is too small or too little. -
