All Tanglin Halt Road Neighbours! Report In Here!
TYM replied to zirhk3355's topic in District 01, 02 ,03, 04, 05
Oh, actually meant that for current models, come end of the year with sale and pricing changes with new models coming into market, it may be cheaper than the 2% GST increment. Agree that new models always come at a premium, so may also go for the next best model. -
Hdb Top Floors Have Higher Ceiling?
TYM replied to hdbfan's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
Not sure about new flats but in my old place at JW extension (NTU), we stayed on the top floor and the ceiling is indeed higher than the other floors, can see the difference. But diff by how much, that I am not sure. Do not feel hotter/warmer when I was staying at the top floor. -

Hi doreamon, can show some pics? Thinking of doing it also. -
As per the title, anybody ordering this now or have tried in the past but now not anymore? What is the reason if you did not continue. I am considering this option in the future cos even now (not married yet but my FW stay over at my place quite often), we are always thinking of where and what to eat for dinner after work. There are also lot more options now and some of the menu are pretty good, claims for be nutritious, no msg and low in oil and salt. Prices are also very reasonable. Tot it would be good to have dinner ready when we got home as are both working, just heat it up and ready to eat. Over the weekends, we can then do some cooking of our own or go back to our parents place occasionally for dinner.

I don' think HDB is so inflexible as to die die insist on the 5 years MOP if you can provide reasons and justification as what applefreak mentioned. As in the case of producing Marriage Cert, HDB rule is to produce Marriage Cert within 3 months of key collection but there are many couples, as mentioned in this forum also, who managed to defer to more than 6 mths to even a year. Best is to call up HDB and clarify. Rules are rules, there is always an exception.

I think most neighbourhood shops selling curtains , bedsheets and cushion covers can help you to custom make. Clementi and AMK Central seems to be quite popular judging from the number of threads here. Which shop specifically, then I don't know. Ask around.

Hmm... mayb by the time come year end, with new models coming out and year end sale, prices of those current items may drop more than the 2% GST increment. -
Cannot remember the prices cos was just there to look look see see as it was near my office. But if you have a balcony and want to get some outdoor furnitures, I think Marquez Living has quite a good selection. Too bad my new place do not have a balcony.
-
If it was installed by you and the meaurement fit, don't see why not. Still remember last time people move house also move their grilles together.
-
You can try Frangipani Homes at Liang Court. Oh ya, another place you can try is Marquez Living at Pasir Panjang Rd. Been to both Fangipani and Marquez but not really my type of furnitures.

Pardon me for asking, what is bathroom tray. Do not understand a lot of these terms.

Some update on the United ID for my FW's colleague place. Went to their place last nite, last minute arrangments thats why did not take any pics. The flat is a 5-rm in Bishan, 138sqm. It was the in-law's place and they decided to stay together after marriage thats why renovated the whole place. Spent about 50k. Done up kitchen (with glass doors and movable glass panels to close during cooking), 2 toilets, laminate floor for 3 rms (living and dining retain old tiling floor), removed balcony door to enlarge living rm, and a lot of carpentry work throughout the house. They also spent a few k to change the windows to Bestview Windows FW colleague commented that the laminate flooring was not so well done as certain place can see the some gaps btw the joints. Her bathroom vanity top was using those bowl shaped basin that "pop" out of the vanity top. The owner commented that mayb we might not want to get those as the bathroom is a high moisture place and algae and dirts tends to get trap at the edge btw the vanity top and the basin and it is a hassle to clean. Already we can see some dirt getting trapped there after only 8 mths. It so happened that their ID, a lady, was also preparing for her own wedding. Therefore, there were days where the ID did not came down to supervise the reno work. Looks like the ID commitment is also a factor to consider. Overall, IMO the workmanship of United was Ok (definitely better than the Superbrand ID that my other friend engaged) but feel that the cost was a bit high. Perhaps it was bcos the flat was an old flat and part of the cost was to hack and remove the old reno, as well as the carpentry work involved. Design wise, nothin out of the ordinary. But the house feels comfy and cosy. The owner did not want any fanciful designs, prefer straight lines and practical designs. May go down this weekend to United and have a chat with them. -

Yep, love this neighourhood also. Used to stay at the "chap lap lao" or 16th-storey block opp when I was young. Saw your reply that your contractor used cement to level up. But maybe he constructed some sort of a platform and plaster it with cement. Pls advise if otherwise, tks. Desmond, I kaypo a bit, help to link. Stapler's Abode -
Hdb Selling Repurchased Flat.
TYM replied to yokoyoko's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
The $2000 option fee is payable on the day of selection, regardless of RP, WIS or Balloting. The option fee will be returned to you later when you go down to HDB to sign your Lease Agreement. The option fee is to deter people from choosing and backing out again later, thus depriving other people a chance of getting a flat. -

Hi lin_stapler, congrats on ur reno completion. Saw in your other thread in T-reno blog that your reno contractor levelled up the sloping wall at the bay windows in your MBR. How did your contractor do it? I think another forumner was also asking. -
Do Hdb Allow People To Downgrade?
TYM replied to Prettibride's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
I tot the reason stopping most people from downgrading is due to the Resale Levy payable on sale of the first subsidised flat Btw, I dun think you can inherit a HDB flat from your parents. The flat can be transfer from your parent to you (ie your parent sell to you) and you start paying the loan all over again. -
Made an appointment with Ikea for their free kitchen planning consultancy services. Quite like Ikea's kitchen design and their kitchen's accessories. Somemore, all their kitchen's have 10 years warranty. Do not expect to do a lot of cooking so was thinking of getting Ikea's kitchen. Anybody has their kitchen done by Ikea? Pls share you experience. Tks.

Isn't that a "good problem"? It shows the alarm works and telling u to check the doors, saving you electricity. I also like F&P fridge for its design both external and internal. Find that the jap and korean fridge designs not so nice. But my FW say it is ex and should look at the korean fridge technology. But I am quite clueless about all these tech terms like nano tech, plasmocluster etc... Anybody can enlighten? Btw, dun think we will cook often, dun think will stock up a lot of perishables, so are these technology still impt? Most impt is energy saving.

Hi all, went to Tanglin Halt this morning, apparently the fence around Blk 90 and 91 is still up. Wanted to go in to Blk 90 to have a look but was stopped. -
err... i buy but i still do ironing, so might as well buy something easier to use. Women's dresses and blouses tricky to iron. Or mayb she can do it also since it seems quite easy Consider...
