  1. Cannot use claypot meh? We using electric hob now and my mum uses claypot to stew meat and brew her chinese medicine, so far ok leh. And ya, electric hob consumes a lot of electricity, no advisable if u cook a lot. Some say it is easier to control temp with a electric hob and the heat is more evenly distributed to your woks and pots.
  2. I think that is quite a rude/insensitive que to ask.
  3. Singapore Kindness Movement
  4. Hi, is that the Champ Sofa from Funktion? How much did you pay for it? What is the length? The Louis Ghost chair is nice, can you still remember the price?
  5. Am also interested to hear more feedback about this brand. Saw their demo at one of the ID show late year, was pretty impressed with the anti-water feature. Btw, is the brand call Excelclic? or just Excel?
  6. There is a Hong Liang and a Maximum Credit at Alexandra Village, but not sure if they belong to the same parent company.
  7. Tks for the advice but how to check for such things? If you are talking about the electrical components, they are all hidden inside, impossible to check leh. Somehow I feel that luck also plays a part when it comes to buying electrical stuff. For eg, some people say Acer computer no good cos always breakdown, must send for repair. Yet some people say Acer computer value for money cos their pc/laptop never encounter any problem.
  8. That's what the staff told us. Hopefully I heard her correctly cos I was quite tired from after spending the whole day looking around for stuff for our new place.
  9. Wow! Thats $500 cheaper than the rrp for the 42PX5M. Where is this shop?
  10. For your budget and to get everything under one roof, I guess the choices are limited to the following (in no particular order): Silver River (but a lot of bad reviews) Brighton Nova Novena The Green Furniture Warehoue Ikea Courts (mayb, but definitely ot Courts Finest) For a leather sofa under 1K, it is impossible to get genuine leather, probably synthetic or PVC leather. You may want to consider HECOM, Castilla or Lorenzo, maybe can get some pretty good sofa under 1K if you search properly, especially now with the GSS. You can also try Sungei Kadut area or even Defu area. A lot of furniture warehouses and factories in these areas. Furniture Club in Sungei Kadut may have some items within your budget.
  11. We not yet marry but already declared.
  12. Hi compassvale, We also like the Papardelle, did you choose leather or fabric? They having a 15% discount for all sofas during the GSS and the staff told us they are giving away a Ottoman free for every purchase of sofa 2m and above.
  13. Err, man also got to be a loving husband, responsible father, understanding son-in-law, capable working man blah blah blah ... or no need meh I believe each has their own roles to play, no point comparing who has a bigger or more roles to play, or else sure end up quarrelling.
  14. Why not ask this fren? Shouldn't he/she provide some advice or after-sales service?
  15. Just an example, mayb can extend or go to another place.
  16. No leh, PX5 contrast ratio is 6000:1 leh. The one with 1200:1 is BX-5. But anyway, I also prefer Jap products when it comes to electrical stuff. My 14" Sony Trinitron in my bedroom has been with me for a good 14 years and it is still going strong.
  17. Signed up a package with White Link and may consider upgrade to overseas shoot if money and time allows. Was told by the staff that if they manage to get more couples to go on the same trip, the photographer's air ticket and accommodation will be shared among the couples. Furthermore, the photo shoot for each couple may only take a day, so the rest of the time there are all yours. Therefore if 4 couples were to go together, each will only take one day to complete the shoot, while the rest of the 3 days are for your own R&R. Can be just like a honeymoon.
  18. With so many readily available study tables to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice. Not too keen with customisation, most probably just a piece of wood push against the wall, a bit tad dull for my liking. In fact with a bit of imagination, some nice dining tables can also be used as study table. And yeah, Ikea study tables are good enough, especially the Galant series with tempered glass top.
  19. Diamond water is one of the more popular brand, but ex. Osim also have those small water filter attached to the tap. A lot of MLM company also carry such products. Singapore water is already above WHO standards, not sure if it is necessary though Diamond Water claimed on its website the benefits of its award-winning filter system.
  20. Err, me not so noble as to procreate for the nation. Although, I love kids (I am sure everyone do) and love to play with my nieces and nephews, but to play and raise them is a different thing. Who knows, I may choose to go the selfish way and become DINK.
  21. I think just go over and introduce yourself. Let them know that your renovation is about to start and apologise for the noise, dust, inconvenience you are going to cause. I think most people will understand since it is a new place and everyone is busy renovating. It is just one of the inconvenices of moving in early.
