Where I stay now, a resident in the next block has 3 GRs. They are very well-behaved, never barked and can see that the neighbours do like the dogs. It really depends on your neighbours and how you train your dogs. As for these thing about muslims dun like dogs, when I was taking malay language courses, my malay teacher told us that when Prophet Mohamed told his disciples not to go near dogs, he meant it differently. Back during those times, rabies was common and that was why he told his disciples not to go near dogs to avoid catching any diseases. However, the message was distorted and today dog is treated as "haram" by the muslims. Anyway, better not to discuss any sensitive religious issue....

Blk 91! That is my block! Fire hose by itself is not worth a lot of money but rather the bronze/copper coupling that is more valuable. It is not what you would do with a fire hose but rather what you would do without when you really need one. These vandals and thiefs really need to be punished. The cops at our NPP really need to get off their butts and walk around the neighbourhood to show their presence. How much do they know what is happening in the neighbourhood sitting in the air-con NPP. -

How come no fire hose in the fire hose box? Ganna stolen? It is sad that our few months old neighbourhood is already being vandalised. Everytime I went to check out the progress of my reno, do feel a bit sad that our neighbourhood is getting dirtier and the lifts interior are being scratched. Hopefully this is only temporary and mainly bcos of the reno going on. Really hope that the building services centre/main contractor will rectify all the damages and defects after most of the reno are completed and residents have settled down. This is our neighbourhood and we should do our part to protect and maintain it. Support the neighbourhood watch proposal. -
I tot the design of this website is ok. A good website does not really have to show all products. If it is able to capture your attention, arouse your curiosity, to want to go down to the shop to have a look, i think the website has done its job. Personally, I perfer to see and feel the things rather than on a computer screen. Another example of a nice website is this http://www.recaptured.com.sg/. They also carry a lot of nice furnitures and accessories.

Oh yes, we got the permit for the hacking. In fact, my ID followed everything stated in the permit, did the hacking within the time allowed, PE came to take pictures of the wall before hacking and gave the go ahead. Hacking of kitchen floor tiles is allowed. The only undertaking we signed when collecting keys is not to removed the toilet wall and floor tiles within 3-years from the date of completion of the flat. -

**** gate opened liao, anybody continuing with reno during the 7th month? Went down to burn some joss stick and joss papers for the "good brothers" as will be continuing with reno during this period. Started my hacking (kitchen and MBR walls) on Tue but straighaway the unit below complaint about the noise and for causing some hairline cracks to their ceiling in the kitchen, living room and bedroom. Work was stopped temporary and the HDB Queensway branch office also do not allow us to hack the kitchen floor tiles for fear of causing more hairline cracks. Made an appt with HDB office, the unit below us and my ID to check out the damages. Fearing for the worst but what we saw was really very fine hairline cracks which is not really visible unless u really looked hard enough and know where to look out for. In the end, my ID agree to patch up the hairline cracks for them (at no extra cost to me), but only after we completed the hacking of the kitchen floor tiles. Hacking of the kitchen floor tiles will resume on Monday and hopefully all will turn out well. -
Reason for posting the link is to share the location of the shops, but do agree that the website design can be improved. Went down to the shop to take a look and quite like some of the stuff they have, but a bit pricy thou. Not sure about this payment terms but from report in one of the Sunday Times articles few weeks back, the people behind this new shop is the family behind the Zara and Mango brand. They sold off their fashion biz and set up this home fashion biz, so dun think there is any financial crisis financially wise. But I may be wrong.

Spot Light (or Halogen Light) Materials

Hmm, so bad? -
Ordered the Panasonic 42" model 2 months ago for my new place but changed it to Pionner recently before delivery. Personally, placed side by side, Pioneer pictures is better than Panasonic. Asthetic wise, Pionner looks better also.

Pardon my ignorance, what is ballast? Transformer? Is it better to have ballast or without ballast? What is the difference between normal and electric ballast? Went to Megaman shop in Jalan Besar and was told that their reflector energy-saving lights (equivalent to normal halogen lights) do not require ballast and is easy to install and replace. In fact, a lot of their lights do not require ballast. The energy saving features is really very attractive. Thinking of getting all my lights from Megaman although the initial outlay may be a bit higher. There is also a energy-saving dimming lamp which is really something new and exciting to me, cos as far as I know, energy saving lights is not "dimmable".
