  1. My upcoming new place at Tanglin Halt also no aircon cos it is very windy. Also, both me and FW skin are slightly allergic to air-con so decided not to have one. In fact, my current room (mum's place) have a split unit air-con but rarely use. Prefer to use fan, even on hot days/nights. Air-con are relatively cheap now but there are maintenance costs involved, not to mention the electiricity bills. The split system at my mum's place are service quarterly by Cool Serve. As you mentioned, leakages does occur and it has happened to us. Spent some money to contain the leak. The best way to lower your room temp is to open up both your windows and doors and let nature do its job. Remember convection flow? I have gotten use to no air-con. The only exception is my office, and sometimes my skin does break out in rashes when in air-con room for too long or when the air-con is blowing directly at me. Finally, do your bit for global warming.
  2. Call Everjoint and ask. Tel: 64582531 / 2578
  3. Err... tiles dun usually go by the air, but mostly by sea. Firstly, air freight is usually for time-sensitive cargo. Secondly, air freight is very exp. Thirdly, the weight and quantity shipped, would probably need a plane load to carry what you carry in one container. If tiles were to go by air (be it from China or Europe), dun think we will be looking at the price we are paying now. And, sea freight consitute only a very small % of the cost of the goods.
  4. If I not wrong, it is somewhere near the star.
  5. Agree. Our KDK standing fan has been with us for the past 8 years and still going strong. But during this period, I have changed countless of those $29.90-$49.90 fan. Will be getting KDK fan when I move to my own place. Neighbourhood shops and major electrical stores.
  6. Here are the specs: - Net Capacity 365 Litres - Automatic Ice-Maker - Quick Freezing Function - Door Opening Alarm - Tempered Glass Shelves - Height Adjustable Shelves - Nano Titanium Deodorizer - No Frost - Non CFC - Stainless Steel But anyway when we were looking for a fridge, we did not really pay much attention to the above specs as our main aim was to find a slim fridge for our small kitchen. This model catches our eye. Panasonic and Mitsubishi also has a similar design but more exp. The Panasonic model is made in Japan, this Hitachi model is made/assemble in Thailand, so the diff in price. R-S37SVS
  7. Not talking about this up-down left-right fan but except for Mistral, the other 3 brands are all not very durable.

    Shanghai Tour

Won't called their highway advanced. Cities lile Boston are shifting all their highways and via-ducts built in the 60s-70s underground cos it is really an eyesore to the city skyline. Another reason is to free up valuable prime land. Anyway, Shanghai's air is bad, sky is always hazy/gloomy. Singapore very small, no need bullet train.
  9. R-S37SVS, SS for $966, include delivery. I think white colour one cheaper by $100.
  10. Same, got my Hitachi fridge from Everjoint also.
  11. Since some forumners have reported to the NPP and TC but the spat of thefs and vandalism is still going-on, perhaps its timely to reflect to the MP. I have not moved in yet but will definitely do so if this continue after moving in.
  12. Can try vhive, tot I saw something quite similar there before.

  15. The new merged New Town Pri and Ghim Moh Pri. Looks like quite a number of people will be moving in nxt week once the Lunar 7th month is over, one of my neighbour is also moving in next week.
  16. A few sales staff recommended me this model (32") when I told them I am looking for a LCD for MBR. Me not very tech savvy so not sure abt the specs. But have to say that design outlook wise, this set does not appeal to me. But then back in the days of CRT TV, Toshiba used to produce good tv with good pictures and sound.
  17. Dun think so the 42PV700 is made in japan. From what I understand, it is assemble in Singapore/Malaysia. But the 50PV70 is made in Japan. Price wise, 42PV70 and Pio 427 is not really that close. Best/Courts/HN was retailing 42PV70 at $28xx, Pio 427 $40xx. All these were Pre-Comex prices, not sure now. I ordered a 42PV70 3 mths ago at $2500 from Best but changed to Pio 427 recently before delivery. Place side by side watching TV programme, feels that Pio 427 gives a better picture. Asthetically wise, prefer Pio 427.
  18. Nice squarish layout. Btw, where is Pao Ma Lu?
  19. Got my Pio 427 from Best at $3200, but with only 1-yr warranty. Free pioneer dvd player and HDMI cable.
