Why must it always be the men to propose? The other way also can mah. I am sure the man won't mind and be equally surprised and touched. I will.

Mr Chong, what is the reason for not encouraging? If already installed, anyway to correct the situation (beside removing the ceiling fan)? Just interesed to find out.

Do SBS and SMRT see themselves as community service provider? If i am the bus operator, i also won't see myself as a community service provider, i see myself as a businessman. Operating cost such as diesel/petrol, ERP, road tax, maintenance are all rising, now additonal cost to install seat belts? In fact i think they are just being upfront about the additional cost.

Kitchen tiles can be hacked, we hacked our kitchen floor tiles. The 3-year restriction is only on toilet wall and floor tiles, you will sign an undertaking form when u collect keys. The 3-year period commence from the completion date of the block. Our neightbourhood i think completed for a year liao, so effectively the restriction should be left with 2 years. http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10205p.nsf/WP...es?OpenDocument -
At my mum's place, we did roman blinds. Yes, nice to look at but quite a chore to take it down for washing. Got to remove the strings behind individually, take out the metal rods in the curtain. After washing, got to thread the strings one by one thru the holes, insert back the metal rods. If not fix back properly, will be slanted/uneven when u pull up later. That was then, not sure if roman curtains of today still the same cos after this experience, did not bother to take a look at roman curtain for my own place. And mayb bcos of the poor quality of our pulling mechanism and the weight of the curtain, after a few years, the mechanism became not so smooth and it broke down like after 5 years. Now we just hang normal curtain on the roman blinds rod. Floor to ceiling height, will be quite heavy. Make sure your pulling mechanism is good/strong enough.

I presume you mean 80cm x 80cm. From what i was told when i was doing my renovation, european tiles dun usually comes in such big size. Most would go for other stones such as marble if they intend to lay such big sizes. The manufacturer can name it anything he wants. For eg, the electrical appliances brand "Haier", sounds very european, but actually it is a China brand.

Mayb should not say coffeeshop behing rubbish dump, cos behind rubbish dump very smelly :D . I think the rubbish dump no more in use right? Seems like the rubbish all collect at the rubbish dump near the primary school construction site. -
We are using the AQXXL 109 7.5kg model, very happy so far. I think A+ grade for both energy and water saving. Quiet during washing. Dun feel the need to get a dryer in Sunny Singapore, somemore dryer very "eat electricity".

Nice layout Is this a point block? Especially like the kitchen with its two windows, brighten up the kitchen, unlike new house where the kitchen always seems so dark.

Garment/cloth Steamer, Anyone Using It?
TYM replied to yokine9a's topic in Electronics & Electricals
We are using one from Europace. But no need to spray water leh, just move the nozzle in a up/down movement to steam and straighten your clothes. Good for blouse and skirt (which is more challenging to iron by conventional iron). Best thing about garment steamer is that it will not damage the fabric as compare to conventional iron if the settings are not adjusted correctly before ironing. Convenient and fast but ironing by conventional iron still gives the better result. -
... and also easier to clean.

The neighbourhood is only 1 year old but already it is looking like 2-3 years old with all the graffitti, vandalism, broken/damaged doors at MSCP, urine smell at MSCP stairwell etc etc... sad ...
