hi jessi the curtains quote is really qt ex. hv to get more quotes and choose fabrics that 'look' expensive lor what i intend to do is day & nite curtains for living room, then use ikea blinds for bedrooms until vit M is back to +ve level, nx time then put curtains in bedrooms and roller blinds for study i think i may drop parquet and go for laminates in my rooms to cut cost. hi koikoi saw fr ur blog tt ur reno delay by a week? did the contractor commit rectfn date? I saw some screws and cut rubber (fr window) at my MBR yesterday but upon inspecting, doesn't look like they changed the rubber leh.. btw what's ur reno theme?

if not every mth, how often do they take a proper reading? If alternate mths not so bad, one mth pay more the other mth pay less. If its only once a while then can be qt siong if suddenly get hit by a huge bill ya.

Jessi, did u consider to place the aircon at the "beam" between the MBR and BR2? I'm not sure how the trunking will run or whether its possible. If can put there, the aircon not so obvious rite? U really fast huh, painting soon, meaning ur reno almost done? When my turn comes i will feel super worried cos only free to go to the hse or look into all these on weekends. Weekdays like 'standstill' where hse or wedding are concerned. Even ID quotes also no time to study & discuss.

ask u guys something.. rainforest shower head is supposed to high pressure jets of water or trinkling, soothing type? saw the rainforest shower head is v nice, but i haven really find out what it does. Mixer at basins i can do w/o unless nx time bathe baby inside the sink!! LOL!

how much more expensive is storage heater than gas heater (installation and usage)? i'm also thinking of storage heater as i want to fix those rainforest shower head and mixer taps, but worry the elect bills will b a killer those normal gas heaters can also fix rainforest shower head anot? *suaku....

Jessi, u repositioned the entrance of BR3? Noticed its at the end of the corridor. Like that more spacious hor? Smart!! did FSM say anything abt having a door entrance at the end of the corridor? Need to do anything to avert the unfavourable FS of this arrangement (if any)? Hi Allo I agree tt the new contractor is unfriendly. His workers were nicer than him! Even ah soon's asst spent qt some time to help us check the screeding and talked to the workers b4 the new contractor arrive. I'm just glad tt my tiles were rectified by ah soon. Hope i dun hv to deal w this contractor again! koikoi, dun fret over the kitchen tiles since most of it will b covered by cabinets & appliances R u able to ask the contractor to patch up what they "overhacked"? good for u to keep ur reno cost below $30K!! i'm still confirming quotes and chopping my wish list. feature wall for HHS like not cheap, more than $2K. But i heard to do veneer or paint job is cheaper than laminate, so i'm considering those options

hi jessi (and also allo) how are ur reno progressing? i heard some reno noise from allo's unit !! Hmm din hv time to pop by jessi's cos was busy w the workers at my unit... FH applied to do cement screeding and H*D said will get the contractor to call him b4 screeding but when we went today for the 'dong gong' praying and stuffs, they completed 80% of it! so upset cos that wasn't what we wanted. we needed to tell the contractor the sand level we want i noe y bedroom screeding are low liao. they measuring from the balcony sliding door track. but i dun want the balcony door so they shld not hv used tt as starting point! c lah, nv call us b4 doing the screeding. !! then stupid h*d build hse w many uneven concrete patches on the floor. bcos they finished the bedrooms alrdy, when we wanted the screeding outside the bedrooms to b lower the concrete 'humps' made it impossible to do. in the end the workers dug up everything throw away. but nothing can b done abt the bedrooms screeding cos alrdy put cement liao. We wanted it higher leh, why didn't h*b do what they agreed, call b4 screeding?? sigh!! i will also end up w gap under the main door like u jessi. hv to build kerb... arrghh!! in the end we couldn't proceed w the dong gong. hv to ask FSM for another date. dunno superstitious or what, isit we hv not dong gong yet, so much problem. even ah soon's worker also swapped the MBR and common toilet doors, installed wrongly. sigh!

Hello neighbours-for-a-long-time Think i will burst my wallet so bad tt I dun even hv $$ to do revamp say 5yrs down the road.. haha!! Anyway our hse alrdy an EA, even bigger than many condos. Qt hard to find a bigger area unless jumbo/mansionette or private property. Imagine if move to a smaller hse, wonder if we can get used to it next time. If the estate stays as 'tranquil' as it is now, i can imagine living there for easily 10yrs

hi koikoi, congrats ya. Ur rectification indeed v fast. And ur contractor is good, hacked everything and re-lay the tiles. My FH had to talk and talk b4 the contractor agreed to hack. We are changing both the toilet doors. Are u? Jessi ur selection of taps and such look nice. I hv not stepped into any bathroom acc shops yet, wonder if i will see stars... Good luck w buying ur lights! Pity we cannot go tog cos our reno dates too far apart. Allo, hv u decided on most of ur tile and laminate colours? When is ur reno starting? Applied for permit alrdy? I forgot to add, I applied for a citibank credit card online and when i went to collect the card, they gave me a choice of gift from Audio Hse. Either toaster or steam iron, from Toshiba. if anyone needs any of these two, can apply online too (must self-collect).. haha! Save a bit of $$

I dunno the rate leh, but if ask ID to do, at least got some warranty. H*B will not b responsible if we ask the contractor to do add'l work and it goes awry. $1 sounds cheap. Check w ur ID how many pcs u need for the kerbs, and how much is the ID labour charges, then u can compare liaoz... Hmm now tt u all say, i qt like the idea of sitting outside the balcony. Will try sit there and see how is the view like first. haha! I'd b at my place from 1pm tmr, if anyone of u gg do let me know, we can pop by one another's place? I heard from FH tt my hse rectification is in progress, tiles are up.. Yipee!!
