You'll be surprised. There were cases where nice and kind people exists who are willing to help, even on an "old" thread. We get the good and the bad, they come hand in hand. Never try, never learn. Good luck to your search.

Where To Get Hold Of Veneer Door. Any Recommendation
anemone replied to tyseng's topic in Carpentry Works
Sharing my experience. I bought solid core, veneered doors from Doors & Lock. The sales person is Ah Lun. Very prompt with my queries and happy with the final result. Not all installation will be done perfectly the first time round. When I contacted Ah Lun, he was always accommodating and tries his best to come around my place or send one of his team member around to fix the issue. When the team was doing the installation, they were also careful with my existing furnishings which I appreciated. -
Harriette, I've gotta to tell you this... I've been reading your blog since the beginning and even before, during and after my renovation. You are sooooo helpful and really nice of you to reply to so many requests that came your way. I remember those days when I seek feedback from some forummers, I didn't always get a respond. You're the best! God bless!

A little info to share. So, went to FC home again. After reading that different locations may have different prices, so 2nd time, went to the one at IMM (1st time was Park Mall). To confirm, indeed, exact same item, but different price. Was looking at a Camerich fabric sofa and price was $4600 at Park Mall & $3990 at IMM! To comment, the sales person at Park Mall was more professional (compared to the one at IMM), he could explain more about his product, gave us time to look around, not at our back all the time. Although I didn't like when he made a comment like; "oh you know, this is not something that you put in HDB home". I was like *eyes roll*. The sales person at IMM, hopeless. Asked several questions relating to the make of the frame, the fabric type/treatment, maintenance, available sizes. Could hardly even answer and could only say the generic, "...blah blah, Camerich is a good brand, don't worry, the fabric of course is of higher end, not those cheap ones..blah...the frame of course reliable, AGAIN, Camerich is a good brand, in the market for very long, if frame not good, then won't have been for so long blah blah". Annoyed, I just tried to get answers to 2 questions, if this size, how much and if that size how much? FINISH. When I said I want to look around some more, the sales person gave me a "what the heck" look. Thanks to the internet and thanks to Camerich being a firm that puts up information online, I managed to find the specifications by myself. Having found that information, I realised, the specs that the sales person at IMM gave me, wasn't even right! Pre-sales service at IMM, H-O-R-R-E-N-D-O-U-S. I do still like the sofa and think it is nice, but the service is so poor + all the bad feedback read so far, I'm concern for post-sales service follow-up, post-sales is important. In addition, I don't think the sales person warrant any right to earn any commission, from the blatant over-charge and the non-existence product knowledge.

Gosh! glad I came upon these feedback, was looking to buy a sofa from them! Now having second thoughts...

oh yeah...i did actually, i think i said something like, "steel, aluminium, iron, like dat"...still kena "hung-up" by auntie. In the end, found Gawa.My space has odd angles & db switch box, phone box, cable box. Gawa could customise the layers of shelf to accommodate these. Definitely not cheaper, but I wanted to make use of every single nook and corner. Must say, the Gawa rep was very professional, patient, provided suggestions and responded very quickly to the proposed layout and provided a sketch of how it would look like. Good service!

Hi Harriette I really love all those clever ideas - irobot space, toothbrush space, metal mesh within cabinet, "sloping" cable inlet, double panes window & so on. Wished I had seen this blog sooner before I contracted my ID. Indeed, reno needs lots of fine tuning here and there. The worst of the worst, my ID constructed my tv console short by 10cm!! I asked for a 50*50 and it came out 50*40, . Yikes, side-tracked. Well, happy settling down and soon you'll be able to enjoy and relax in your new place!

Good Offer Shop Of Electrical Appliances
anemone replied to dodofish's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Just to share lesson learned. I did read about HN able to match dealer shop prices, but when I went there, I haven't done my "homework" yet. A senior salesperson (after the junior didn't know much and called him to help) was very good, he had very good product knowledge and explained in a lot of detail about the TV. I was deciding between 2 diff brands. When I told him I wasn't ready to buy yet as I would like to check around prices, he told me, even if I pay now, they can still match as long as I contact them back again before delivery, then just have to go back to HN (before delivery) to pay the new matched price. I thought, 'wow' cool, since I have been out whole day already looking at electrical appliances and was really tired already and he did do a very good job, I said yes and paid..... Doing it in reverse; I then do my "homework" and called several shops and found indeed several lower prices. So I called back HN about the lower price. To my disappointment, they came up with a few excuses; "oh coz you paid by credit card, we cant' match", "oh the shop price is on cash so it's cheap, even cheque is unacceptable", "oh they don't absorb delivery", "oh they don't give u the free gift"....ALL OF WHICH is untrue, except the credit card. Actually, even the credit card, the neighbourhood stores were not even charging the full 2% ccard fee. After a few calls to & fro, speaking with seniors and managers, they finally agreed to match. Though the arguing was unpleasant, I'm glad they kept to their word. Sharing this so anyone out there can avoid going through this annoying experience. -
