Looking For Reliable & Cheap Painting Contractors
Brainstorm replied to Honeygal's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
After reading some users engaging Paintersingapore to do their painting, I also engage them to paint my house. What suppose to take 2.5 days work end up taking 4 days. Workmanship so so... Price wise is not cheap too at $1600 for 5-room... think there are better deal elsewhere. Overall sentiment for paintersinhgapore.com: Over promise, under deliver... will not engage them for my parents place or recommend to others. -

Sim Lim Tower Level 3. There is a shop selling light tubes, switches etc. They selling Elbriu brand e-ballast. Or can go to 283 Kranji Road (S)739515, Guan Seng, they selling Philips E-ballast. Both brand very lasting. Mine used for 5 years still very good.

Yes the power lines are connected in a few "loops", so for the additional 2nd neutral and earth wires, just treat them as one wire (ie. 2x neutral wire screw together and 2x earth wire screw togehter).
-
Think you just need a small pcs of plastic or metal bar with a hole for the screw to replace the catch. No need to change whole thing...
-
me also looking for carpet.... wonder Geylang got any good and cheap and light carpet... he he thanks
-
Yes, just go to most locksmith to tell them you just want to change the key inset (called the Euro Profile Cylinder that look like below) Cost from just over ten dollars (normal china brand) to over $50 for Duro brand... The locksmith can show you how to change at his shop some more, very simple, just unscrew one screw or two when the gate is opened.

The price is on the high end side... As for the creases, you can google for paint defects and compare with the pictures. It may be improper base coat...
-
If its for Buddha etc... you can go to Rochor Center (near Sim Lim Sq). There are a number of shops selling Altar table. Among the traditional design, I've seen a few modern design ones... not sure if it fit your standards... he he

I saw the hardware shop at AMK center (Near the AMK Hub, walk along the shop house outside the Hub and should be able to find it) selling, they have silver and black aluminum. Can't remember the price... Also saw the DIY shop at Marina Sq selling those Stainless Steel type. But I think Aluminum is better. $85 is cut throat price.... My ID and my sister's ID gave us for free... we only need to ask for it...
-
I've came across some ID that ask for $900 for sand too a year ago... + they still charge around the same for haulage... They say until like everyone is charging the same... Later when I ask around other IDs for quote, they didn't ask for the $900 for sand.... So I think its a scam to ask for such high price for sand... seems like cost as much as cement (I don't know how much is cement, just guessing)... so don't make sense...

Using Ceramic Tiles For The Living Room, Anyone?
Brainstorm replied to pinkitsch's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
I won't recommend you to overlay the toilet wall tiles. It will only make your toilet smaller and may have problem getting a correct size toilet bowl (as the wall will become much nearer to the toilet drainage). Also I'm not sure if overlaying the wall tiles onto the existing "smooth" tiles will be lasting.... just my thoughts... -
What Is The Difference Between Plc 2-pin And Plc E27 ?
Brainstorm replied to chen08's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
Get the light with E27 socket as it comes with built in electronic ballast. PLC uses seperate magnetic ballast that uses more electricity as it generate more heat. The E27 CFL light is flicker-free as it uses electronic ballast built into it, gentle to the eyes. For the same power used, CFL will be slightly brighter too. Do note that the CFL that comes with clear casing covering the white bulb have a slow glow start, if want instant bright start, choose those without clear casing. Cheers. -
Wow.... $920 for 2 toilet bowl.... I have to find a chance to try on it liao.... he he he Move house is like that one, use up a lot of your money... but if you average out the time you will stay there, its one of the most well spend investment!! Spend already then don't think too hard, I also spend a lot when reno my house. Look forward for your new place!! I'm sure it will be cosy and nice!! :-)

Go and get electronic ballast, no regrets. Save electricity, flicker-free light, instant start, brighter lights. The two common brands are Philips and Elbiru (aviod those china or no-name brand). Each electronic ballast will cost about $18.

i was brought to INDULGE by my ID.. but still i manage to get very very good price. My ID even help me bargain... ha ha

I bought my accessories from INDULGE at 246 Balestier Road, their pricing is very reasonable as compared to the rest plus their after sales service is excellent, always respond to our queries. Recently brought my mother to buy storage heater and the price was much cheaper then other shops we went to ask. Really happy with their service.

Get those electronic door bell that uses AA size battery, avoid those bigger door bell that uses 4x D size battery. The electronic type is much smaller, lighter and uses very little electricity. Just cut away the wire connecting to the switch and connect the two wire to the existing HDB two wire. Put in the battery, and it should be done. Go outside and press the existing switch... "Ding Dong!!" This is my Sound Tech door bell, it uses AA size battery. the wired version have two ring type to choose. There is also a wireless version, look the same, but think have like 16 musics to choose. Should cost about $16-19... View from corridor Climb up the chair view...

The two wires connected togehter are the power supply "live", be careful while handling them. There are two wires because it need to parallel out the power supply to another light within its group under the same breaker switch. The last light in the group will only have one such wire. Now the other one wire is going to the light. So once you switch to "on" the supply will flow to the light. The "Neutral" and "Earth" wire of the lights are internally connected togehter, so you won't see these wires in the light switch. Usually people will connect the 2 wires to the common ponit on the switch, the one wire will go to the "1" position. (for those switch with 2 way, for dual switching, the position "2" will have connecters too. But mostly we will see 1 way switch, and position "2" is left empty.) Hope this helps. Cheers.
