Maybe can go to the ATCO product web page and see if your ballast look the same.... http://www.tridonicatco.com/kms/cms/kms.php?str_id=80 this is the magnetic ballast... this is the electronic ballast... By the way which one you using? Magnetic or electronic?

Can I Relocate A Door After Its Had Been Installed?
Brainstorm replied to zirhk3355's topic in Carpentry Works
HDB door is standard width one. Only the height need to adjust due to the floor tiling thickness. The door frame is made at factory and then delivery to you place, then they put it up and fill the gap with cement. So door frame and door all standard size. Unless you specially order a made to measure door. As for the idea to reuse the door frame, its not possible cos once they hack, door frame confirm bent and dent or break. To hack away door frames and install new one cost between $190 - $220 (some shop only install frame but don't hack, cost ~$110). The overall cost will depends on the type of door you choose, classic (woodchip/cupboard plank with hollow center, about $120-$160) or solid wood door ($2xx) or designer door ($???) -
I just bought two Joven 901 heater. But only able to feedback in Aug when my house reno completes.

Which Brand Of Refrigerator Are More Energy Save?
Brainstorm replied to alice916's topic in Electronics & Electricals
With the map, I can now tell you the other shop that some forumer say is cheaper then Hong Liang. This shop is at the end of Blk 121. Do let us know if this is ture. Cheers. -
Can't recall, two years ago.... its done by outside factory. You can look thru the classified section and call a few shops to quote and compare. (Depends you want real leather or synthetic leather) It should set you back by a few hundreds. One thing I find, real leather slightly more comfortable, but difficult to maintain. Synthetic leather feels warmer, but very easy to clean.

Not sure which brand better, just choose the best design and cheap one will do. He He. If you really not very sure, just check the price and get your contractor to quote you for the job. Safer this way. If too ex, tell him the material price you get and he earn so much!! Better lower his price. !!

Usually those small electrical shop don't charge extra for delivery. Only Best, Harvey, etc.... charge delivery. Hong Liang don't charge delivery. But best to call a few electrical shop to check for best price so you know market rate... !! and other shop can't chop you like carrot. -
I bought my sofa from lorenzo 8 years ago, other then the need to change the leather after 6 years due to wear and tear, the frame, spring, sponge are still very good. I just bought my TV console and dinning table from them as well for my new place. Using back the re-wrap lorenzo sofa, still very comfortable as compared to other new sofa, so not getting new sofa yet. !!

The vertical pipe can box up, but just make sure got door opening to access the pipe if needed. As for the aircon pipe, maybe can post a copy of your floor plan here, do draw dotted lines to show the top horizontal structure beam. Maybe some of us here can help think of a better way to run your trucking.

Panasonic Mitsubishi Anyway, I bought TOSHIBA fridge, also 3 doors, Model: GR-M45SDV at $690 from Hong Liang. But TOSHIBA having some promotion now, think go most shop can get vouchers back, so in the end after taking the vouchers, price should be around the same if they don't charge delivery.... !! -

For the same capacity refrigerator, the power consumption is about the same. If you want to save electrical bill, can consider those new Inverter type refrigerator (same technology as air-con, ie. those non-inverter and inverter type). But the cost is of the refrigerator is of cos higher too and there is only one or two models in our market that use inverter. -

I already bought. Delivering after my house reno complete. Can only post feedback in Aug. !! -
To just change the plate is easy if you know a little of electric stuff, ie. ensure the wire goes back to the same connection point on the new face plate, especially those two way lighting switch. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Make sure you OFF the main electrical supply to your house before doing for your own safety. If not sure, better get someone else to help as electricity can KILL.... As for the size, there are small and big, just measure your existing switch plate and get the right size.

If staying north, can try this light shop along Sembawang Road, 'Tuas Hardware Kaxxxx', beside the under renovation Sembawang Shopping Center. . This shop I bought my lights from also selling this type of big rocker switches, brand is 'Hager' if I remember correctly. Price is about the same $4.50 - $5 for those simple ones. For those 3 gang 2 way can't remember the price. Plus the SA say buy more she gives better rate.

No need promotion, just call those electrical shops, like Hong Liang. I got mine from them, model FX900 + FG793SS at $640. Outside retail I think at $778.

Aircon Installation, What To Check For?
Brainstorm replied to sparrow's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
Which shop did you engage? For insulation, class 1 or 0. Manage to find this on a website telling whats the difference between the classes: <<Put simply Class 0 (Fire propagation) the material adds no fuel to a fire. Class 1 relates to a surface spread of flame of 165mm after 1.5 minutes with final flame spread of 165mm. Class 2 has a surface spread of flame of 215mm after 1.5 minutes with final flame spread of 455mm. Class 3 has a surface spread of flame of 265mm after 1.5 minutes with final flame spread of 710mm. Class 4 has a surface spread of flame greater than 265mm after 1.5 minutes with a final spread of flame exceeding 710mm.>> Looking at things, I bet the external white plastic casing is not even Class 1 rated.... 1/4" thickness for aircon pipe? Cannot be... 1/4" is only used for water pipes, most shops don't insulate water pipe. Your shop must be quite good to do the extra work for you. I upgrade my fan coil before for my MBR, super cold, in fact too cold... I only use low/quiet mode (ie. lowest fan speed) cos even the med fan speed is blowing too strong. Wasted my $$ as I never use fan speed higher then low/quiet.... But if you like it cold, its a good choice. The water pipe is grey PVC pipe, very easy to identify. Copper pipes are for aircon refrigerant, the insulation should be at least 3/8" or better 1/2". You can refer to the web below to see the pictures; Aircon Material -
Another place if you stay near north. Its Tuas Hardware Kakheng - 596 Sembawang Road. This may not be the cheapest, but its the cheaper one that I come across. Service is also good, lady SA very polite (even after we went there for four times without buying anything, she still very happy to serve us. Not pushy.) I bought two 36Wx3 PLC lights, four 36Wx2 PLC lights, one (energy saving 10Wx3) dinning area light, four downlights (13W) at $690. I went to a light shop at Balestier, the SA quote me a 36Wx2 PLC light at $150 after discount, but this shop retail the exact same design light at $98. After discount is $80, almost 50% cheaper!! Lesson learn, always shop around to compare pricing. Or end up as a carrot head...

I also bought sharp but from Hong Tar at $1880 + $150 upgrade from 3/8" to 1/2" insulation. How come Hong Tar so ex!!?? Hong Tar includes a 3yrs workmanship warranty. Can share what is All Best giving you? 23 gauge copper piping or the thinner 22 gauge copper pipe? Those black color high density insulation foam (Class 1 or 0) or the grey color one? 1/2" insulation thickness? 16mm water drainage pipe? Site survey + 2 times installation? Vacuum copper piping prior to fixing aircon compressor?

If you are doing kitchen cabinet, your contractor should be the one arranging with the gas guy to come down, then he can tell the gas guy where to run the gas pipe to. If we do it on our own, we may not have the full details, eg. exact location of gas, where to run the pipe so your contractor can hide for you, etc.... My ID will be arranging for the gas guy for me though.

Aircon Installation, What To Check For?
Brainstorm replied to sparrow's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
You can check out this webpage, have good info on what to prepare/do/check on the day of installation of air-con. Cheers. Sinagpore Aircon Blogspot - Material & Installation Page -
zirhk is right. But if you are re-doing the toilet wall tiles and the aircon trunking is going thru the toilet, you will need to time your aircon trunking works to be done only after the toilet new wall tiles is lay. Check with your contractor, he should be able to advise you on the actual date. As for gas, after all the kitchen tiles (floor/wall) are done, your contractor should arrange for the citygas guy to come. Cheers.
