Hi guys, I bought a RP flat from HDB and all the walls have the slight outline of the original bricks... Some areas even have big dents and are very uneven.. I just wana check with those who have also purchased RP flats if HDB did do anything about it? I heard from one forummer that HDB actually did re-plaster all the units in her block.. I did submit together with my other defect but the HDB officer said cannot do anything about it.. I want to try again as I have taken more photos of the big dents..If not, I will have to spend alot of money just to re-plaster the whole unit.. Any advice??

It looks shinier that my friend's one although hers is bigger .. personal preference bah -
Ways To Throw Rubbish Without The Plastic Bag...
white_affair replied to HSH21's topic in Men Women Kopitiam Corner!
For me, I have dustbins in every room.. those in my bedrooms or study, I will still line with plastic bags and paper at the bottom. But as most of the rubbish in this room will be dry rubbish (eg. paper, wrappers etc.) I will normally empty them into the rubbish bin in the kitchen and throw away just 1 plastic bag instead of 5 bags. That helps me to save and recycle.. Of cos use a few times, then I will change new one lor.. -
Hdb (not) Rectifying Defects For New Flats?
white_affair replied to mint's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
Ya, at least its not the old ancient gate.. but its still not the new kind.. looks just like the old kind but nicer.. but cannot be too fussy, they change for me already very good.. What kind of defects do you have?? If not so bad, and if your reno will affect that area then dun stress yourself out too much abt it lor.. Buying a home must be a happy process so dun make yourself upset.. -
Hdb (not) Rectifying Defects For New Flats?
white_affair replied to mint's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
How can they say that ... Im sure they still will mark up from the valuation... I think the state of the flat also plays a part.. Actually alot of my foreign friends also laugh at our procedures to purchase a home.. Imagine not even being able to view the place first before buying.. We only have a floor plan to view.. Whether old or new, the flat is under HDB responsibility, therefore they have the responsibility to make sure the flats sold are of acceptable standards.. No news of keys yet.. My branch officer everything also dunno one.. He will just shrug and say he not sure.. So sickening.. Can't even find out more abt the previous owners.. So you are going to collect tmlr?? So lucky All the best yar!! -
Hdb (not) Rectifying Defects For New Flats?
white_affair replied to mint's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
Nope, just going to use curtains or blinds to cover up... Anyway, I just got back from the inspection.. Everything is done nicely.. All windows are now able to close and latch properly and quite smooth also.. the gate was change, the rusted pipes painted and 1 of the bedroom doors change w/o our knowledge.. The Branch officer said there was a chip so they changed it for us.. Quite happy .. now just hoping can collect keys soon... Not sure if still want to ask again if they can re-plaster the walls cos quite even with dents and the bricks outline.. -

Hdb (not) Rectifying Defects For New Flats?
white_affair replied to mint's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
Haha, yar, they took a looong time.. more than 1 month and I had to keep chasing. I will be going to inspect again during lunch again today! Hope it will be fine, but judging from all the bad experiences with HDB, I dun have my hopes up high.. Expect they will just paint over the rust of the pipes etc.. I will update on the condition again later when I get back Dun just try, must really fight for it.. Futhermore, we pay so much and yet they expect us to accept all this defects.. .. I could not stand their attitude cos my branch officer keep trying to push all blame by saying its an old flat so sure like this or that.. Well, its still their responsibility... -
Hdb (not) Rectifying Defects For New Flats?
white_affair replied to mint's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
Well, that seems quite ridiculous.. They never informed us that we had to raise the defects once inspected. In fact, cos we kiasu so we call the HDB officer to complain after that and she told us to email the list to her... No trying to twist and turn to get out of rectifying it for us... So I think you can try.. We raised a point that although its an old flat, we purchased it direct from HDB, therefore its their responsibility to ensure that the condition is good. So don't let them off so easily.. -
How To Choose The Wedding Date?
white_affair replied to hueychye's topic in Bazi Consultation by Mr Chong
Hi Mr Chong, could you also help me with some good dates for my customary wedding? Hopping to have it early next year, preferably on Fri or weekend. Female - 13 August 1980, 3.08am Male - 13 July 1979, 10.58am Do you require the chinese horoscopes for our parents too? Thanks! -
Yes, I agree... just that Singapore has never practised it and suddenly ppl feel that why should they pay for something they have gotten free all along.. IMHO, its just a simple compromise of bringing your own bags if you are not willing to pay or utilise the bags fully. Furthermore, if its true that the 10cents per bag will go to an environmental fund, isn't that also doing some good. At least its not pure profit.. Just my opinion, hope I don't offend others.

Hdb (not) Rectifying Defects For New Flats?
white_affair replied to mint's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
Its possible cos I also purchased a 30 yr old RP flat... In fact I will be going to inspect the rectifications tomorrow (after much chasing) ... I had "defects" such as rusted pipes, gate cant be closed properly, all windows cannot close properly, paint stains on the floor etc ... However, we didn't bother to check for hollow tiles or stuff like that since so old liao and anyway we are going to hack it away.. I went to check the external, the gate was changed for a newer one, the windows seemed to be able to close properly... Not sure abt the inside.. worried they just apply new coat of paint to cover up the rust of the pipes.. Anyway, anything that is a result of the construction process last time, eg. brick outlines of walls all cannot rectify... Not considered defects Hope this helps -

Chamia, dun mind me asking but you work in Lee Hwa from which period? Cos actually I also used to work in Lee Hwa but that was in 2002... left many years ago... maybe we know each other.. Yar, seems like very bad feedback about the service level now... Honestly speaking, last time, service level was very important but seems now not the case? Last time even if customers wear shorts and slippers, we will still serve leh... Think since they have LH, CG and GH.. they have to spread their more experience staff and the new ones don't have so much guidance or training... -

Spray Paint Wall Tiles
white_affair replied to lambie's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
My toilets and kitchen not too bad but really not my taste.. So either will hack or spray all... Seems spray is quite high on my list now since I will be able to save some money, my tiles are still in good condition and my FH says even if it peels in 5-7years time, he still consider that quite lasting... Anyway, we are not heavy users so maybe can maintain longer... Anyway, thanks for all your help and valuable feedback!! -
But the black is opaque rite? thats the kind im looking for and that will suit my concept.. If its those like crystal, then I tink it is actually tinted glass but not really good also as it still wont be shiny..
