Yup that's what I just noticed too! I'm looking at Bank of China website now Thanks Instinct! But just wondering has anyone ordered from taobao using other cards before?

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing so much about shopping and the nice/good stuff from taobao! Much appreciated! I'm interested to try taobao too and have contacted May from Amcon Express for her rates etc. That part I am more or less clear. The problem now is I do not know how to place the order. May said her clients have a 支付宝 account that allows them to buy directly from taobao. Only thing is you need a china account to transfer money into the 支付宝 account. May said some of her clients get her to do that - they will transfer money to her and she will put into their 支付宝 accounts for them. This sounds a little unsafe for me, I will probably wanna avoid this until I have tried and tested her services She also mentioned she can help to buy the things but she charges a certain fee PER LINK. If I'm not wrong, it's 30-50RMB per link. It seems quite high for me especially if I intend to buy many small items together with big items. So I would like to ask if anyone has bought directly from taobao before using credit card? If yes, are there any extra charges? From what I know, there's a DBS/POSB promo with taobao but I don't really know how it works. I opened a taobao account and when I tried to check out I reached this page, and this is what I see when I select the "信用卡" (credit card) tab. Then when I click on “选择其他” (select others), this is what I saw. There's no Singapore bank that I can select. Did I do anything wrong in the process? Appreciate all advices and help given!

This is my draft floor plan. I will have false ceiling in both living room and bedroom. The "partition" you see beside the study table is actually a full height shelf/divider. So for the PC, I was thinking I can run the cable from the cable point up to the false ceiling, pull it across the living room, and then let it come down from the inside the shelf/divider. As for the media player, I will have it both in living room and bedroom. The media players are streaming directly from online. I'm not so worried about the one in the living room as it will be house in the same cabinet as the cable point. It's the one in the bedroom that I'm concerned about. On a side note, I'm looking to buy a 5.1 audio system and an amp for my living room set up. Any recommendation? Your setup looks beauuuuuutiful :dribble: But it's way over my budget. My friend is using Jamo speakers and Onkyo amp and I find that acceptable and within my budget. He got it for 1.8k from Harvey Norman so I was thinking I can probably get something similar and cheaper from online/Amazon. This should be below your league but maybe you have come across some nice systems during your hunt? Thanks ongcs!

Hi ongcs, i got linked here from kim76's blog. Nice purchases u have! Do you still have cat6 cable left? I can buy from you if you want to offload them. I'm looking how to lay networking cables for my home too.. but mine is just a small one bedroom apt. I need to cater for a PC which will be in the living room, but on the opposite side of the living room where the modem will be. and also the bedroom to hook up my media player which is connected to my tv to stream movies or dramas directly.. and I like your idea of having spare points. Any suggestions how I can achieve that? I am getting my keys in April so I'm doing my homework early in case I need my ID to lay them for me

How do they calculate the GST? 7% of the price of the goods? Or? EDITED: I've contacted May and she told me the GST is 7% is of the value of the goods, regardless how much we buy. $400 limit doesn't apply here as she's shipping by sea.

Hi frankman, thank you so much for sharing your purchases. Can you share the link of the tap? I'm also looking for a tap like this! Btw, can you also share the contact of your forwarder? Someone quoted me $250 per cubic meter. How much did yours charge you? Many thanks!

Hahaha! Sound bar is compact and cool bur from what I know, it works optimally when there are walls for the sound waves to bounce? Too bad my place will not have any walls for them to bounce except for a balcony door at one side. Are all electronics in USA 110v? I saw many threads on Vornado fans and transformers -

Sorry to hijack your thread kim, but I have a noob question. Do the electronics sold online come with international warranty? If not, what happens if the items arrive damaged or not working? And I need recommendation for a audio system please.. I'm looking for a 5.1 system for the living room, together with an amplifier. The reason is cos I visited my friend who has this set up and I thought it was not bad. I like to have the surround sound effect when watching movies. I think he got the whole set up for 1.8k from Harvey Norman. Not very high end but I think it is good enough. Was thinking I can probably find something similar but cheaper on Amazon? I have budget constrain so a penny saved is a penny earned! I'm a noob in such area so all suggestions are welcomed! Thanks! -

This is very nice! So cute! But I noticed you can only put money in, but cannot take out? That means we have to smash this cute little thing if we want to empty it...? -

Does the free shipping for orders above USD$25 apply to international shipping as well? If yes, can I assume you are paying USD$48 shipping fee for this shipment because there's no free shipping promotion at the point when you bought the items? The last time I visited my Amazon account was 5 years ago and you, kim76, (together with ongcs and many others) have succeeded in making me log in again and created a wish list on top of that!!!!! First thing in my wish list is OXO Good Grips Over-the-Door Hook Rack Thanks for all the sharing and caring guys! -

Kim76, nice house you have! I've been submerging in your poison since 2 days ago and I'm only halfway through your blog! But let me reply this thread before I lose sight of it. My friend told me sometimes the private sale might not be as good as the public sale. She once bought something from the private sale, only to find the same item at selling a cheaper price one week later during the public sale. Good thing Robinsons has a 30-day (someone correct me if I'm wrong) refund/exchange policy. So she brought the item back for a refund and bought the same item from the public sale!! She couldn't remember how much the difference was but she said it must have been quite substantial for her to lug the item back to Robinsons. So I guess can still buy from the private sale, but do remember to check the pricing again during the public sale! Okay, back to the poison.... -
For those who are in love with brick walls but find them too expensive, you are actually DIY at a fraction of the price. http://looknookhook.wordpress.com/2011/06/17/diy-a-tale-of-the-white-brick-wall/
