  1. We just laid vinyl flooring over our bedrooms. We chose to do so because our developer had given us engineered timber, which turned black quickly after natural atmospheric moisture (from Singapore's humidity!). We decided to lay over wood-looking vinyl flooring as this was water-proof and wouldn't have the same problem. The company we chose was Galaxy Flooring: <link removed>- we dealt directly with the boss Timothy, whom we found really easy to work with. He was very reasonable, and followed up on anything we had concerns about (e.g., when we wanted to change the color of the edges).
  2. We used Sim Win Liang shelves for our bomb shelter. Of all the vendors and contractors we dealt with for our house renovations, Sim Win Liang was one of the most professional and fuss free. They were out of stock for the shelves we wanted, so asked us for our bomb shelter dimensions. Within a day, they sent us a professionally-drawn diagram of which shelves of theirs would fit in best, and the price for these. When it came to installations, they booked a date in a timely manner and everything was installed within 30 mins without any fuss. We chose the boltless ones, and these have lasted us fine for almost 6 months now (and are easy to move around if we want to change the shelf height).
