  1. Depending on the extend of damage done to your parquet, it may be possible to have it repaired instead of hacking and laying with new pieces. The parquet near the window in all 3 bedrooms in my house were damaged (water seepage due to leaking window seals, faded due to exposure to direct sunlight) and my contractor was able to salvage it without any hacking. It looks as good as new now with polishing and a new layer of lacquer. Your contractor may be pulling a fast one on you by suggesting the need to re-do the whole room. I suggest that you get a second opinion.
  2. I have a stainless steel backsplash and it is very easy to maintain. For oil blotches and water marks, just use a stainless steel cleaner ( I use quickleen) and wipe in the direction of the grain. All the stains and blotches will be removed and it looks brand new again.
  3. Hi everyone, I have just installed a Caesarstone countertop for my kitchen cabinets. For those of you who have used or are using Caesarstone, do you mind sharing your reviews on this product? The company website claims that is scratch resistant but how true is that? I found a 5cm scratch on my countertop just when it was installed today. now waiting for the supplier to come back with their course of action. Do you find that your countertop has withstood the daily use and is indeed scratch resistant? I've also read some online reviews that Caesarstone countertops loses its shine and luster after a while. Is this true for you? What about the warranty? Did your supplier/contractor provided you with the warranty? Lastly, my countertop is sort of like a U shape thus the contractor said its not possible that the top comes on one whole piece. Thus there are 2 sealing fine lines on the countertop. I wonder if this is usual. Thank you and I appreciate your comments.
  4. Hi everyone, I have a brand new Fujioh FX890 Cooker Hood to let go. It is silver in color. It has never been used. The reason i am selling it is because it does not fit the design of my kitchen. Thus I need to sell it to buy another hood. I purchased it at $420 and letting go at $380. I have the box and warranty card (unfilled). Please leave me a message here if u are keen. Thank you.
  5. No reply?? Anyway I've sorted it out. Managed to find the adapter locally. I'm glad as the tap is at least $1k cheaper vs Singapore price. http://www.blancoamerica.com/inter/kt/HeilerPPMKatalog/hlr-system/USA/Faucets/BLANCOCULINA/r441331_CULINA.jpg
  6. Hi, Do u know if the mixer tap for kitchen is compatible with Singapore? The reason I am asking is because I purchased a mixer from US and my plumber said the thread and screw size for the water line is not the same size as what we r using in Singapore. Us the Blanco sink Axia8? It looks similar to the one I bought Wishing u a smooth Reno!
  7. Hi, did u managed to get tour faucet fixed? I'm facing this problem too. Bought my faucet from amazon and now plumber says the thread is too small for singapore.hope there is a local solution to this problem coz I like my faucet v much !! P
  8. These are available at ToTT in Bukit Timah.
  9. Hello... I've been going to my regular hair salon around Serangoon Gardens for a few years. I'm just wondering what is the current market price for hair cut and treatment in Singapore, in the heartlands. how much are you paying for your haircuts?
  10. I am replacing the doors to my bathrooms and was quoted $1440 for 3 doors. Is this the market rate or I'm being fleeced? Thanks.
  11. I'm currently doing a remodelling of my kitchen. Bought new appliances such as oven, hob, dishwasher etc. May I know who usually does the installation? The shop that I bought them from doesn't do installation. Thanks.
  12. Hi everyone I'm currently shopping for a pull down kitchen faucet (commercial kitchen style) and have short listed the Blanco Master S semi pro faucet. Does anyone have any experience with this faucet? Was at Hoe Kee yesterday and was quoted more than 1k for this faucet and no display pc for show. Thus I did not make a commitment to buy until I can be sure of its performance. I'm also open to other brands and appreciate if you could share with me the brand that you are using and if its good. Thank you.
