  1. Wow... I love those stools and rocking bench you got from BKK! Simple and really elegant.
  2. Nice place! I especially like the cement screed and wood look. I am impressed with your contractors' carpentry work. Would you mind PM-ing me their contacts? Thank you! I am also curious about the sticky cement screed problem you have. Is it the finishing layer that they painted on that is sticky? Do update us if you have found the cause/solution.
  3. Nice place you've got there! I like the simplicity of it
  4. Wow, I never thought the metal piece can be removed! What an elegant solution.
  5. Hahaha yeah 'cos the story all starts when the kids walk into a magical closet and discover an entirely new world in it...
  6. Can I say great minds think alike! This has many similarities to what I want for my new home -- the concrete, the removal of all walls possible, the floating surfaces, the minimalistic look... Love your mood board! Since you are seldom home, why not allocate some space in your bathroom for storage as well? I am planning to erect a large storage closet in the common bathroom since we won't have guests over too often, for the storage of bathroom, cleaning and pet supplies.
  7. The cut and paste is such a great old skool idea!
  8. Am a fan of quality Japanese goods too, love their design! Especially their wood products, drool...
  9. I second the black grout! A lot less maintenance... Nice choice of tiles all around!
  10. Hi inxlee, I can't see any of your posts except the first one. You might want to check your settings...
  11. If you are going for a light, uniform look, go for the white lilac. The main difference between the two colors is that white lilac is of a warmer shade (yellowish), while special touch is a cool shade (bluish). IMO, juxtaposing special touch and the warm flooring will look "off".
  12. Thanks for the replies! OpenNet shd be able to perform the relocation for a fee?
  13. Hi claypot, Your kitchen mixer is very nice indeed! Classic, timeless look with functionality. May I know how much you bought it for?
  14. Yeah you're also on the HDB interiors tumblr...
  15. I've yet to collect the keys to my future home -- it's still 2 years away! That being said, I have already designed most of my flat's interior. I have yet to find an answer to whether the circuit breaker/DB box can be relocated in a new BTO flat. My DB box is located in one of the kitchen entrance walls and I wish to knock it down to create an open kitchen. I merely wish to relocate it to the wall adjacent to it after the wall is demolished, so the distance will be very near. Is this even possible? Will HDB allow it?
  16. Oic... Thanks for your reply! Btw, really nice furniture! Am loving all the wood grains!
  17. Sorry, I mean ducting (or extraction of air) to the outside for the kitchen hood. I realized HDB regulations say no ducting to the service yard or balcony, but can we duct to the air-con ledge?
  18. Anyone knows the rationale behind this rule? So that the vented air does not get blown to your neighbour's service yard?
  19. Hi pokz, How did u find out that HDB does not allow external extraction? Do u know the reason? Many thanks.
  20. Hi all, We have paid the deposit for our 3-room unit at Bukit Batok but recently I have been very vexed with the floor plan, which has the PD box perpendicular to the main door. I want to shift the box such that it is parallel to the main door, in order not to block the entrance to the kitchen (planning to have an open kitchen). Is it possible and has anyone done something similar? Any replies will be much appreciated. P.S. I understand that some flats have PD boxes incorporating gas pipes that cannot be removed but I'm wondering if that applies to only some flat designs. My floor plan can be viewed here.
