  1. If Amazing Alan really reads RT, can he let us know when we can meet Mr Carpenter to discuss about our kitchen cabinet?
  2. Time to go shopping for a 3D TV! There is an IT Fair coming at the Expo!
  3. Hi jay, well after a few rounds of heart-to-heart talk between Mr E and Alan. Mr E has been spending every weekday (930am-530pm) since last week. Luckily his work is online based so he can work from anywhere.
  4. Hi retch, I know which ikea glass cabinets you are talking about. They have it in green, grey and 1 other color (can't remember) and all sooo nice!
  5. Delivery also don't charge or at least they never charged us. And we asked them to split into 2 trips - the more urgent items first and then the rest a week later. They kept the stock for us for over a month! Thanks to @retchlow for her recommendation!
  6. Today we experienced Amazing Alan. Stage of our house now: - painting of 2 bedrooms done - electrical wiring & plumbing 70% done (left with actual installation of ceiling fans, lights & power points. Plumbing left with bathroom basins due to wrong taps we've ordered. We've to buy new taps!) - aircon to be installed tomorrow (painters on standby on-site tomorrow to paint the new trunking etc) - living room box-up etc done, left installation of downlights & painting - open net installation done - chemical wash (ongoing now!) - laminate flooring (this Thurs) Alot of things are happening concurrently these few days. At any point of time, there are 2 teams of people working at our place. Alan was joking with us "you can move in one day earlier instead ie this Thursday".
  7. Yes I do but Mr E said no... Also really no space to put
  8. Wah he is really marking his territory!
  9. For the peranakan tiles, are you referring to this? Kitchen & bathrooms by Makanology, on Flickr Hmmm we actually counted wrongly & bought extra tiles which eventually went to our stairs http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=15626438874
  10. Wah converting the Bakelite switches into wall hooks? Now that's really ingenious! We bought these online for actual electrical use though Bakelite switches by Makanology, on Flickr
  11. Agreed with you mrsmerry! RHB works super duper fast and good service!
  12. We bought our fridge, ceiling fans, hob, hood, microwave, tabletop old school oven, aircon, storage heater, washing machine from them. They sell also kitchen appliances too. The brands they carry are mostly European & Japanese brands.
  13. It will be nice to fit in a bathtub! Saw this gorgeous round bamboo bathtub with seat inside (those we see in the old martial arts movies-so classic!)
  14. $2800. But I think the price was special to us because we bought alot of other stuff from Unilite. I suggest you call/email them for quote.
  15. Hi just now met air con guy to study how the trunking can be done. Surprised that he (Ah Guang) works today and he spent 30min measuring alot of stuff. Nice chap and he understood very well our concern - trunking must be swee and neat > our objective!Wednesday will be aircon installation day! Ours is Mitsubishi Starmex inverter system 3(9000BTU x 3 units).
  16. How about your WC and basins? Getting from them too?
  17. You were at Royal Fanco yesterday? So were we, around 3 ish. Their after sales support is awesome. We bought the wrong basins and he allowed us for a refund on that and helped us made phone calls and research to find alternatives to solve our problems. Henry & Lena are simply amazing!
  18. Hmm maybe but provided that the bathroom has space for that. HDB bathrooms are so puny!
  19. The bench is a very good idea!
  20. What's left of our shopping list: 1) Sound bar 2) Philips Airfryer 3) Handheld vacuum cleaner for quick vacuuming of small areas 4) Ironing board 5) Square cushions for sofa 6) Plants 7) New toiletries for the new place eg new toothbrush, soap, new makeup brushes etc We are now furiously packing and we have A LOT of stuff!! This week is gonna terrible for us with the renovation juggling, ROM cum wedding preparation (choosing photos tomorrow!) and shifting house! Believe a miracle will happen - Alan called us at 7ish just now with more updates. He is really pushing his guys to rush out the house miracle for us and despite all the frustration we've faced, we're glad he is blessed with a good team!
  21. Ya today we have Ah Peng or Ah Beng (not sure which is his actual name but he is definitely an ah beng) as our plumber and he is quite a funny chap. So far chemistry with him & team seems ok and targeting by Monday to complete most of the plumbing works, other than the last minute VO for 'semi-tabletop' basins. (Our original basins cannot be used with our Delta faucets and we had to head to Royal Franco to solve the problem. Kudos to Henry & Lena for saving the day! Thumbs down for Alan for not being there for us physically to solve it though subsequently he tried his very best to brainstorm with us over the phone.)
  22. Mitsubishi inverter not bad, my parents using it and so far no problem.
