  1. Don't worry I am learning new stuff too. Am still outside so think I can only check my mom's model number much later. Yes Dyson is really nice to use, very ergonomic and so useful to maneuver around the house.
  2. Geeez I didn't know such a gate exist and thanks for sharing. Now I learn something new
  3. Yeah I saw and it goes very well with the whole look of summer's kitchen. Looking forward to see yours too!
  4. How about a baby gate? Used to have 1 and it worked well. And very easy to fix it by yourself
  5. Wow really nice! Congrats to your lovely place and good job done!
  6. Wish to buy soon but will only be getting keys in April so still look see and shortlist. Going to buy A LOT - basins, toilet bowls, bathroom accessories, dining set, some specialty tiles, bed, sofa, lights and clocks
  7. Small palms and luckily I am a gal. Otherwise for guys, ahem ;p And Haji Lane sounds dangerous. Not much space left at home now and we have to decide carefully on the things to buy first. Difficult decisons to make ...
  8. I get notices from Tangs and Isetan but I think the Robinsons sales is still one of the best. But lucky me, I have few hundred dollars worth of Takashimaya and Muji vouchers respectively so I will be buying most of my stuff there!
  9. Oh, the cute lil ones. They look small in the photo so I think you can hang a few in a row. How about their brightness? Maybe you can choose them in different colors and then have matching colored plates and cutlery or napkins or table placemats?
  10. My mom uses Dyson and the suction power is quite solid! She has a Jack Russell who keeps shedding and it seems to do the job well. Not sure of the model but I can check tonight when I get back.
  11. Oops I confuse you with summer. I thought it was summer heading to Ikea later! Sotong me! Iphone screen too small for me Yes I heard of the Tangs rebate. I can't go for any of these sales yet especially when I have not even gone through my 1st HDB appointment! Hands super itchy BUT have to resist. So I will take summer's advice and wait for GSS. For Ikea, no need to see liao. Mr E called them up and they replied that he should try again one month later to see if the stocks will be in. In other words, they don't know. I will place my bet on Ikea KL and try to figure a way to bring them over to Singapore, either wait till May for my colleague to come over or ask my Boss for help heeheee.
  12. You are the awesome-st! If yes, let me know and after work I will swing by ikea to get. I can also help bleucheeze to buy first ;p (my office quite near to Ikea Alexandra)
  13. I think TB has a wider range though I admit it is a pain to read and converse in Chinese
  14. Wah this is cheem-o-logy! Later I will get my Mr E to study what Summer's contractor did. It does look a tad ugly with the wire hanging loose. @Bleucheeze My KL colleague is not in KL now; she went for a staycation so she said she will try to get. But my problem now is when she can bring them over. i may receive the lamps only in May unless I trouble my big boss to hand carry over when he comes here for meetings LOL (hope he doesn't kill me)
  15. Hi summer, did you see a matching shower head / rain shower at Ikea? Oh the accordion lamps, Singapore Ikea no stock so I am getting my KL colleague to get them for me in KL lol
  16. Much smaller as in? Do you have the rough measurements or diameter? Then easier to calculate and figure out if 1 or 2 caged bulbs for each side of the green vintage one?
  17. Haha same taste! We have shortlisted the 2nd TB link as it is so vintage! Take this instead of the Ikea one, more character! Then on each side, hang the cagey bulbs from the 1st TB link.
  18. Nice combi for your dining set! Maybe put the ikea green pendant lamp in the middle and find a pair of matching smaller pendant lamps to be placed on each side of the ikea lamp? This pair can be naked Edison light bulbs (incandescent) and exposed wires which will make it more industrial? Then the ikea lamp will be the highlight, provided that this alone is bright enough? So you only turn on the 2 other bulbs when you have guests.
  19. Thanks summer. I showed the ikea lamps to Mr E and his first word was "WTF"... Afterall he did spend countless hours sourcing this online and scolding the US site, Kohl's for refusing to accept overseas business etc etc... Look high and low and our trusty IKEA has it on our little red dot!
  20. For the taps, we don't dare to trust those on TB cos we are unsure of the quality. I have read some forumers buying Joomoo brand which seems good but I don't think they come as oil rubbed bronze. Yes this is the actual description of these taps and they are not 100% black. For the black taps you saw, did you see a complete range including shower head and rain shower?
  21. We are now on Project Taps whereby we have shortlisted this one for our kitchen sink: Kitchen Sink by Makanology, on Flickr Gorgeous black beauty right? Unfortunately we haven't seen one sold here. We haven't been to Jalan Besar yet but definitely haven't seen this at Sim Siang Choon and Hock Kee. We are now trying to get the FULL set (kitchen sink tap, bathroom taps, shower heads, towel racks, toilet paper rings etc) and ship them in. Will need to mix and match as the complete set from the same range will cost a bomb and these beauties are heavy-weight too!
  22. Hmm I may have missed out your dining table... What size and shape is it? Both the red cage and ikea vintage green lights are gorgeous. I absolutely like your original plan of having cement screed-like laminate in your WIW with these red beauties. Maybe adding a really plush lush carpet will contrast well with the laminate+lamps, one in a strong color like black?
  23. Haha fun for the humans or also fun for the furry animals at home? (I see a furry paw at the corner of your pix)
  24. Woah can seriously consider the ikea ones though they are not as industrial looking as summer's. but for $30 a piece, I think worth an experiment. This shall be the start of our weekend 'Project Accordion Lamps' whereby we will customize them to suit our place
