  1. Looks like a lot to work on... Are you doing an overhaul to the whole place?
  2. You know something, the common problem among toy collectors is that space is never enough! Regardless of the size of your home, cos there is always new toys to buy
  3. Morning! Ya we and a few other forumers just happened to be the unlucky ones. It has been a tough learning journey but glad that it is over. Hope your renovation journey will be the exact opposite of ours - may the force be with you and that yours is smooth, meaningful and fruitful
  4. Oh the one by Takashi Murakami looks good! Can't wait to see this hung up!
  5. Welcome to the world of Kuche! Where are you buying them from? We bought them from Unilite and got a great deal as we also bought our fridge and aircon with them. I wish we can figure out how to fit in a Kuche built-in oven... I am regretting not getting this during our renovation!
  6. Kuche built-in oven? We actually have almost all Kuche appliances except for their built-in oven and dryer We use their built-in microwave; simple one but worth the price and serves our needs. We also use Kuche convention oven; this is the best buy at $100+ and can handle a 5.5kg turkey easily! You may also want to consider the Kuche hood & hob
  7. Hi we have the same Kuche washer and it has been serving us very well (2 humans & 1 furkid). Great value for money and water-efficient. For the dryer, sorry we don't have it but you may want to call their distributor, APS Lifestyle to find out more.
  8. Welcome to the 3-roomer club!
  9. Stylo-milo fan! Curious about its price...anyone knows?
  10. After all the drama encountered, despite the pain and anguish experienced, we are glad it is over. Must admit problems still pop up now and there with new discoveries of dropping craft bricks, swopped fittings for our kitchen tap etc. But at the end of each day, when we relax at home and play with our furkid, we forget the woes slightly... Or sometimes we forget totally cos of silly moments like this: http://instagram.com/p/kFBsNmGk4R/
  11. Hi macuser77, ya it is the wife here, Makan! Your post is funny! And yes we are in the same generation who knows what IRC is, oh gosh, think we told everyone how old we are lol
  12. Yes. I am not happy and i believe i could say the same for the rest who had a very bad reno journey with him. It makes us feel tiny and unappreciated as customers or whatever we are. Regardless of how much or little we paid for our renovations, or even whichever type of housing, professionalism should be the applied all the same. Everyday, we live constantly knowing how terrible the experience was, and looking at every part that was unfixed and not rectified only caused more anger and hatred for him ruining it. Each passing day/month, we find something new to fix up or touch up and it is NOT even due to wear and tear. You know how many craft bricks has dropped off since then? Did i trouble him for rectifications? No. i merely asked for tiler to supply me with grout and cement so that i can do it myself. Why did it drop? As he didn't had enough or sufficient time to properly do our renovations, he simply painted over the existing walls, without removing the previous plaster that was hanging all over the place? Will the bricks be strong enough to hold on? And how much dust is left uncleared because acid wash isn't possible at this time already? My oil rubbed bronze floor trap was completely ruined because he simply follow SOP and decided on acid wash just so he can say he has done acid wash? Upon placing of floor laminates, was there sufficient coverage and protection for it when other works is going on? Even upon voicing out, it is clearly not relevant to him because he needs to move on. Now, our floor laminates are covered with dents and scratches. Are we to be blamed? Yet, he walks away with the money, job done and all, stuff was "stolen" or "switched" by his sub contractors. Not even an APOLOGY for the empty promise, lateness and the amount of inconvenience he has caused. I had to extend a month of temporary storage because of his lateness, and i had to start my artistry work almost 2 months later because i had to clean up his so-called rectifications and cleaning up whatever he didn't. Clearly i have lost all confidence in him already and wish to cease all forms of communications with him because he accused me of shouting at him when he did raise his voice at me. Likewise, did he wish to put an end to this chapter. Yes. I am very unhappy. I am unhappy when you unintentionally rub salt into our wounds and that makes us angry. It belittles us, and make us feel compared to. It makes us feel unwanted, unimportant or even unheard as clients/customers. As a matter of fact, you take offence to why i ask those to scoot off, but surely you don't expect us take offence to how we are being compared? Yes. I am an Alan hater now. I used to have the utmost respect for him in his trade and trusted his reputation but as you can see, much has changed. However, if he has done so as accordingly, responsibly, properly and reasonably with regards to our place or even others, i believe that i would be standing on the other side of the fence as well. Clearly, many now would have seen and understand the fact that he perhaps does have a certain penchant for a certain clientele. So right now, i do extend my apologies to anyone who has taken my offence to what i have said but likewise, i too expect an fair understanding and acceptance by anyone else reading it of the conditions we have been subjected to which is totally unnecessary. And thanks Astarz, much obliged. Time for talk has passed and i seriously doubt he remembers especially he can send us a CNY card as well. Besides, i have already remedied much of what needs to be done with the exception of some stolen stuff, and also some costs we ll incur along the way because of his negligence.
  13. E here, it is just the same for us. Try imagine that we have to move in on that fateful day regardless without the following: 1. window grilles, corridor facing. All our belongings are packed in boxes stashed up. 2. a broken old main door, no lock no nothing. It is only held together by a cable with a number lock. Not even the gate! 3. no lights in the room and bathroom. Bloody ****, they can fix up the fans but not the lights? 4. no hot water in the bathroom and no water supply in the kitchen. 5. no power points in the kitchen. We already have a washing machine in the kitchen and we had to go for 5 days without washing our ****ing clothes. He ****ing avoided our calls the whole day and only replied to us at night giving the usual lame excuse of: Eh, guys your schedule too tight and rushed, there is no way i can do it. We gave plenty of time, coordinated as well as we could to our and his utmost convenience. The only thing we required for him to do was: just make sure that our bedroom and bathroom was properly equipped for living. Yet, he chose to ignore that and do what suited him best. There are so many things that got messed up which i don't even want to ****ing talk abt it. I personally took up whatever was needed, and fixed it up all by myself. For those who can actually come here and ****ing tell us what good he has done for you, please get the **** out of here because i don't need that. And due to all these unpleasantries caused by him, we had to quarrel with each other for weeks for choosing to use Alan and making our lives a few years unhappier. Furthermore, it was during the week where we are supposed to get wedded and all. Where was he then? **** him, he doesn't even care about how he fixes our stuff.
  14. Mr E here. Thanks to him too, for taking away all my hot/cold water hoses without my permission. The best part is, i have to change to a 1/2 gauge 3 way pipe connector with 2x 3/8 outlet that cannot be found in SG. I also have to buy them from amazon, as well as the the hot/cold water hoses that has the different connectors.
  15. Hi Trish, you sure you wanna encourage fellow 3-roomers to post pictures of their completed homes on your thread? Haha I think many would be proud to share the fruit of their labour, me included
  16. Hi meeko, thanks for dropping by! Guess you are one of the rare few newer clients who managed to have a good experience with Alan. From a certain viewpoint, it would make many of us envious as Alan's treatment of most of us was nowhere as pleasant as yours. I believe most of us didn't treat him shabbily. In fact, we still put in lots of effort to communicate / coordinate with him but this was one-sided only... To date, there has been no after sales service rendered by Alan. During our renovation, we saw him around 2 - 3 times only. We wouldn't have missed his presence cos 3 weeks into the project, my hubby showed up daily. Then from week 5, we moved in to stay in the master bedroom already while the renovation was still ongoing... There are some forumers that still have ongoing projects with Alan and they are having a really bad time working with him. Let's hope all will go well for them as my hubby and I truly understand and feel for their situation. In any case, Meeko, it is amazing that you are staying true to the oriental & Rajasthan theme. Like the souvenirs that you brought back from your trips. Sometimes it is such touches that will turn a house into a home which you have accomplished that. Congrats!
  17. Nice! Quite different from the other houses done by Mr K! Gong Xi Fa Cai!
  18. Wow your toys! Looks like you are loyal to your brands - Bosch & Karcher!
  19. Hi hi, I think I know which is your hubby anyways our food pics are mostly home cooked food due to my strict diet requirements - gluten-free & soy-free. Having said that, luckily we invested a big chunk of our renovation & furnishing budget in our kitchen. It is our favourite room in the house but we are running out of counter space ;( been thinking of buying a water filter cum dispenser and a bread machine >> cannot cos no space to put.
  20. Kstoh, thanks for dropping by our 'complaints department'. Your tblog is always very fun and enlightening to read your words of advice will definitely encourage those who are still engaging Alan with their renovation!
