And to celebrate this 'milestone', we bought this: Iona retro green desk fan by Makanology, on Flickr Thanks to Mangoo who first bought this & Bleucheeze for 'hunting' the last ones in Singapore. We bought the last green unit, possibly in Singapore LOL...

We took the plunge today by confirming Alan as our contractor! It was indeed a BIG leap of faith due to the recent drama staged by our sellers. Well, we can't confirm all these until after the 2nd appointment. Our current rental cannot be extended any more. Anyways, we took Alan's advice and visited Poh Seng to look at kitchen sinks. We have earlier shortlisted Blanco silgranite sink and we can only choose a certain design due to the kitchen tap we bought from Amazon. Alan advised us to save money (thumbs up for him since he knows of our tight budget) and choose other brands whose composite granite is of similar quality. And so we found our cheaper alternative to Blanco, unless we can source successfully for our 1st choice: copper sink but that is incredibly hard. We also made another key decision today. We will stop sourcing for basin & WC on TB. At Poh Seng, we were given a crash course on our local sanitary fittings which is quite different from china measurements. So with sadness, we say bye to our original wish of brightly colored sanitary wares and settle for pastel-colored ones available here

Thanks for the encouragement...we can't really heave in total relief till we hold the physical keys in our hands on 24 April! When is your TOP? How long would the delay be? I think the new BTOs are around Boon Lay or Seng Kang area. If Boon Lay, it is rather close to where we currently stay now!

This seller seems not bad. The reviews on the Toto tap look good too. Initially we were looking to buy our basins & WCs from TB as we want bright colors. However we just killed that when we discover that the prices at Poh Seng & GR seem quite comparable to TB and we need not worry about installation woes as these shops are just a English/Chinese/Hokkien phone call away. But the local colors available are more pastel than our original choice Maybe you wanna consider buying them locally too? Though I am not sure of the Toto price difference which I think it will cost more here?

Mustafa still has the cream fan but looks like limited stocks (think left less than 8 units for the 2 wings of Mustafa from what we saw)

I didn't even noticed your main door was painted in 2 colors until you highlighted it. Great idea... The inside white makes the whole look of that wall more 'seamless'. I like your weighing scale... Is that Kenwood? Yesterday we saw the same fan and I was trying to convince Mr E to buy it but he was busy looking at the Vornado ones (guys seem to like such stuff). Also contemplating if I should get the vintage green version of the fan that bleucheeze bought though I don't know where to place the fan heeheee

Was trying to see the price difference between the different brands of the hinges and my goodness, this seems worse than studying for a paper. The Hettich online catalogue is making my head woozy

K's quote will be higher than Alan... For ours, K quoted $10k more and both quotes are for similar items. We like K as he does have a creative streak which I think will help when we do not have the luxury of an ID. But $ wise, Alan is kinder to our wallets. Good luck and most importantly, go with what your heart tells you. Afterall we are putting our house into the hands of someone who can help us change it to our home
