Today is tile selection day! Well we are 5 days away from our 2nd appointment so it is time to confirm the tiles, check availability & order them! We met only for 1.5 hours at Hafary Balestier and confirmed the tiles for bathrooms, kitchen and living room/bedrooms floor laminate. We also confirmed the color of our window frames & grills (all white with horizontal bars for grills *to me, this is easiest to clean!*).

Thanks! We have 2 cartons of bricks already here and the balance 8 cartons will be ferried in 2 cars next weekend when we celebrate dad's birthday in JB. So just nice, all settled

The duck noodle stall at Boon Lay market not bad and you are supposed to take the beansprout yourselves for your noodles. That mean, you can help yourself to ANY amount of beansprout with no one holding you back-but this stall, also super long queue. The pork ribs noodles and wanton mee not bad also, prawn mee also. One of the seafood tze char not bad (their grilled crayfish nice!) and the pork satay stall next to it is good, apparently quite famous!

Jay, Can describe how this good tiler looks like? Our renovation is starting next week or the week after, hope to get the same 师傅 as yours!

Yes choosing granite sink purely for looks For the craftbricks, we did some rough calculations of the walls we will be covering; also researched on the completed brick walls of other forumers (I tried to count the number of bricks they used!). Finally we double-checked with Alan. We rounded up the figure as it would be safer to have extras!

Where did you get yours from? Are yours made in china or uk? Some contractors are not quite willing to install these as they are not SISIR-checked?

What is your wardrobe laminate going to look like? Aluminum can't match that well?

Even the ikea sliding door runner comes in aluminum only

Haha we live to eat and I am super chan jui ! Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak is at Boon Lay market / food centre and you need to take a feeder bus from Lakeside MRT Station. Why don't you try the one branch at Woodlands where jaykr tried at? Think nearer to your place!

Think Alan must be shaking head. When we told him initially the price of the craft bricks we gotten from JB, he looked surprised. Now you also buy from JB, that's a double confirmation of how much things can be cheaper across the causeway. We bought our taps from Amazon cos we like the oil bronze look which does not seem to be popular here. Yesterday found a shop in Geylang selling a kitchen faucet at S$300+ where Amazon sells for US$129 and looks nicer! What sink are you getting from here? We are looking at granite sinks, some Indian brand Carysil cos Blanco is branded & thus, cost more.

We are doing a mish mash of stuff, more going to eclecticism. There will be country 田园 style, local & ang moh retro and with a dash of modern. Colors for the house: Living room - orange & red Kitchen - red & green Master bedroom - pink & green Study room - green & yellow Bathrooms - red & green Whole house will have black & white & woody. Jia lat! Like super colorful so don't know how it will turn out eventually!

We haven't even gotten our keys 11 more days to go and we are so ready to jump into action!
