  1. Ya Mr E is 25% baba lol. mixing & matching is done by him. He is the creative one whereas I am the practical one. Ah Meng initially wanted to use our kitchen wall wood tiles for the stairs completely but we happen to have leftover Taobao tiles from our bathrooms and the size is almost a perfect fit. So might as well since both are of similar tone!
  2. Yay! Kitchen flooring almost done except some touch up to the washing machine base. Pardon the poorly-taken picture using the iPhone Small milestones on 21 May by Makanology, on Flickr The botak corner area is un-tiled for the full height cabinet to house the microwave oven etc.
  3. Hi NSW, saw that you are inquiring on the Smeg induction. We are buying our electrical stuff from Unilite @ Jalan Kayu who carries Smeg stuff and at lower prices than the official distributor, APS Lifestyle. No harm asking them for a quote.
  4. Haha actually I like the storeroom so that I can store our luggages, vacuum cleaner, extra stools etc inside. I would rather push back my MBR wall and eat into the common bedroom and then I can have a longer wardrobe to store bags & more bags Believe any girl would agree with me!
  5. Small milestones today: Our latticed windows (both sliding & casement ones). White grills not up yet but will be installed by this Thursday. Small milestones on 21 May by Makanology, on Flickr Hmmm the HDB meter boxes look so out of place and yellowish. I don't think town council will change if we request hahaha. Not sure if we are allowed to paint it white so as to match our new windows?!
  6. Hi 3Dyms, bought it at IMM Osim corner at Best Denki... No GSS promotion but the sales guy, Teck Leong extended the Mother's Day promo of $628 (self-collection) or $658 (incl delivery). For either option, he is willing to help us keep the stock till mid June. We took the 1st option as we realized the massager is about the weight of 1 carton bricks only (20kg) lol... If we can manage 10 cartons of bricks, this is chicken feet to us!
  7. Haha will try a small bottle of Comex and also a small bottle of Chlorox and make own concoction lol (no lah, will use separately and be diligent to clean REGULARLY
  8. Is the side table from seahorse? Saw something similar there befoee
  9. So jay, Ah Meng is using silicon or grout cement? Jia lat, I am confused now but he did said he will do brown for us - his own initiative yay!
  10. Hi redder, Alan's number is 9889 2008 while vacanthost has given Dorothy's number above. Good luck! Both of them are good in their own ways so it depends on who you are most comfy with.
  11. Hi vacanthost, long time no speak... Dammit, we are regretting not opting for Dorothy. Anyways now that we are stuck in our renovation, have to just bite and bear it all the way
  12. Blum would cost more than this right? We use this daily so when we divide the cost by 365 days, each day would cost us $2 roughly. Where to get a foot massage at this price? Lol
  13. Feeling down so to drive away the blues, we went shopping just now. Bought the world's 1st Tui Na leg massager: http://www.osim.com/SG/product/uphoria.aspx?category_id=FFBA8A28-657E-4447-B54C-F5BB675C962F Osim uPhoria by Makanology, on Flickr Age is certainly catching up and both Mr E and I use this all the time at my Mom's place. It is time to invest in our own.
  14. Hi redder, if you can afford time to manage the renovation yourself and keep an eye (daily eye for us. Mr E is now there everyday during their work hours) on the works, then you can consider Alan: 9889 2008. There is another ID that we now regret not choosing her-Dorothy. Have a feeling that she may be better in monitoring and her cost equally competitive as compared to Alan's. her email is inlookz@yahoo.com good luck!
  15. Your lights are quite unique, you got them from JB also? Looks like you are going for a retrolicious home too?
  16. Is comet good for grout lines? We are sticking to traditional white grout line color since we are aiming for the old school look.
  17. The stool for the kitchen island is very cool! So are the patio & yellow chairs? Are there similar ones on TB?
  18. Yes macuser is right... Our bathroom tofu tiles are gonna be a big killer in terms of cleaning! Small is cute but cleaning will be a pain.
  19. Ya can't hack at all which is a con but the pro is the walls seem quite smooth...phew!
  20. Hi jay, didn't know you are using Blum = wah! So envious! Haha we don't think there is a Howard Storage in US but there are Macy's, Walmat, Lowe, Home Depot etc... You will be spoilt for choices! Brands to go: Simple Human, Joseph Joseph, Pyrex, Zgliss, Kitchenaid etc. Go for non-electrical stuff as US is mostly on 110V whereas we are under 220-240V, otherwise you have to fix a transformer which may affect the product lifespan. Though I read from Kim's thread that Vornado air ventilator and the iRobot vacuum cleaner are very good buys in US. Also the Kitchenaid mixer & accessories... Great buys there! Dammit, I am so jealous of your Blum & coming trip now!
  21. Hi macuser, don't worry. I gave up figuring how to use the multi quote. K is right about extra labour cost for wood tiles. It is really not easy to lay that!
  22. Hi June, thanks! If we can cross our fingers, toes, limbs and eyes to get smooth progress, we will definitely do it lol
  23. If prefab walls like ours, don't need to plaster. That's what our tiler said.
