  1. Your bamboo-porcelain bath accessories are very unique-nice!
  2. Haha storybook wasn't what we thought of but never mind Think the living room will be more complete after Monday when Ikea is here and hopefully Mr Electrician. Also new sofa cushion & cover (work-in-progress) & window grills to come by this week. Curtains are ready but can only put after the grills are up.
  3. Some happy pictures of our living room before the invasion of furniture this Monday Living Room (before the invasion of furniture) by Makanology, on Flickr Living Room (before the invasion of furniture) by Makanology, on Flickr Living Room (before the invasion of furniture) by Makanology, on Flickr
  4. Nope last night we slept in our master bedroom which has no ceiling fan or lights (missing ceiling fan bracket which Amasco sent down a day later but electrician uncle Ah Tiong was sent to work on another location). Water heater not powered up yet as all the powerpoints in the kitchen are not fixed. So we have a brand new fridge and washing machine that we can't test or use today
  5. Hmmm not exactly, painting just completed today. Electrician maybe will be completed next Monday. Plumbing a bit more to do (but that is because of the wrong taps that we ordered earlier). Kitchen cabinet not discussed yet. Main door, gate and window grills still doing.
  6. Hi redder, good to hear that! You can start a T blog anytime cos we sure did and used it to share what we have bought. GSS is here so plenty of good buys to share with us soon?
  7. Very nice! Feels very cosy and personalized - well done
  8. Agree with you; HDB workmanship is really terrible. Our block just went through some upgrading and the exterior painting is horrible. Anyways your laminate looks good! And your mini 武林大会 is better than ours. Today no show from our plumber, electrician & painter Tomorrow they will be coming, as confirmed by contractor!
  9. Let's see if the new storeroom can pass the 2 bicycles test this weekend...
  10. Aircon trunking done but before painting (pardon the poor lighting & mess): MBR (hope most of the trunking can be covered by the curtains) Aircon trunking (before painting) by Makanology, on Flickr Aircon trunking (before painting) by Makanology, on Flickr Study room (with our puny ceiling fan and dim E27 light kit. 11. Hi jaykr, ya curry puff party sounds nice. Today we got some screw-up also but not by Alan. Aircon installer's vehicle broke down so after repair, they only arrived at 3plus. Best, they brought a jackhammer which is usually used to drill roads. They said our prefab walls super solid so must use more powerful tools. Drilled all the way past 5pm! Downstairs neighbors x 2 came up to complain but when they saw Mr E (who is quite 大只) there, one of them 'u-turn' and said prefab walls are more sturdy LOL. But amazingly the aircon guys finished the installation around 9pm...phew!
  12. Hahaha yes it is! Was just calculating how many curry puffs to buy for the various teams tomorrow..15 people? Tomorrow is THE day to cheong cos we are moving in on Friday! *sweat*
  13. Same here... Tomorrow our laminate flooring will be up!
  14. Tomorrow is 武林大会, cos it is the last lap for us. We are expecting these people to work at our place - tiler, electrician, plumber, doors/windows installers, painter, laminate floor guy and their teams! It is a gathering of all the clans to showcase their 功夫!
  15. Hi Vanessa, we bought the Bakelite switches from this Australia shop called Discount Brassware (http://discountbrassware.com.au/). Do remember to buy the mounting board for them and these are good for S'pore use with Clipsal parts I think. Though not cheap! They ship direct as well. And yes the TB tiles are ceramic but best to use Daigou or Peeka or Amcon as it offers only self-collection from a local logistics centre in Guangzhou...
  16. Yes it is indeed a super memorable journey for us! While Mr E is there at our new place daily, he spray painted this pair of legs: Project Sewing Machine Legs by Makanology, on Flickr Haha kopi & teh for all the 师傅 there
  17. Yes I know so sometimes Mr E also helps them by getting his hands dirty. He has a hand in fixing up our craft bricks which is really a VERY hard task! But good side is on the spot, he can answer their queries & so we avoid rectification later.
  18. Do you entertain a lot? Eg friends, cell group or family members popping by regularly? If yes, maybe makes sense to have aircon in the living room?
  19. You never know till you call them...
