All Tanglin Halt Road Neighbours! Report In Here!

Come to think of it, my previous house is using gas heater, based on the description of how gas heater works. This means I've used all 3 types of heater before. Here's my review: For storage heater, I like this one the least. Unless the switch is on 24 hours, it is quite troublesome to use, because you have to remember to on the heater for at least 10 minutes before using. If a few people bathe continuously, the water will gradually turn cold for the unfortunate person bathing. Or if one takes a long bath, same thing happens. Have to wait 10 minutes for the water to heat up again. Conclusion: Unless you're very gian for high water pressure, bu4 hao3 yong4! Instant Heater: Not much complains except the water pressure can be quite weak and the control box is ugly. Gas Heater: In my previous house, I think the gas heater is a centralised system becaue the gas control box is not anywhere in the house. It's quite ok to use, on the tap for a few seconds, and the water is warm enough for bathing. Gradually the water will get hotter, and have to adjust the tap again. Conclusion: I'd rather go for gas or instant heater. For those going for higher water pressure, I think gas is better. -
Interesting, but they should've known better lah! Very daring, I salute their bravery.

Just now specially went down to Citygas to hear their explanation on how the gas heater works. In the end, decided to take it because of the free heater. As for bills, they claim it's cheaper, let me test out if it's really true! Hopefully it works something like instant heater with 1 ugly control box in the kitchen, instead of 2 ugly control boxes in the 2 toliets. Me can't bear to go back to storage heater, remember using it when I was young, have to wait a long time for water to heat up and the tank is super big and ugly! -
It feels good to cry! At least I can still feel the emotion rather than be numb to it. I'm glad I wrote it out, at least can re-read what I wrote and cry again! Hah! Oh no, I think it's difficult for me to take care of that cat in this current house I'm staying. My sis-in-law discovered the water bowl we left out, so she asked my husband, are we keeping a pet? (in her house) Aiyah, it's like this one, stayin someone else's house, so much restriction! Luckily I've only a month more to go...ren3!!

I can't blame my contractor, as we only engage him as a contractor, not an ID. Moreover, we didn't let him do the air-con nor the parquet nor purchase the marble through his contacts, we only gave him $13K of work, so can't expect too much from him. As for painting, I'll have to kick-start tomorrow.. with or without trunking and electrical wiring. Just have to be prepared to do touchup and additinal work. !! I'm also afraid during marble polishing and parquet sanding, it'll dirty my walls again. I'm also afraid when they do the hacking, some big pieces will fall and spoil my flooring. !! -
I want my baby to come back the same!!!! The same healthy, handsome, good tempered boy he was!!! I didn't know cats will throw things when they get angry!! !! Sounds cute! My dog never get angry at us. At the most he'll just growl in a subdued way. Ahhhhh, miss him so much!!! I kiss my handphone everyday as his picture is on it.

Sorry, I feel like ranting yet again! I could've done the air-con trunking first, before any other work commence, but the STUPID salesman said we must know the floor height first. As we didn't know the floor height, so we held back till now. My appointment for the trunking is supposed to be yesterday, but because I've already lost heart in this reno, I failed to checked properly, and by the time the aircon staff called to remind us of the appt yesterday, my husband said he's not free already. He doesn't want to prioritize this reno first. !! Then today while studying how to run the aircon trunking, I realise we do not need to know the floor height at all as the trunking is done near to the ceiling!!! I'm not so technically inclined and don't even know how this whole aircon thingy work, but I expect my husband to realise it faster than I do! In fact, he was the one who pointed it out to me how to run the trunking. Yet he doesn't realise we do NOT need to know the floor height??!!! Now I want to do painting this weekend, and have to paint first without the air-con trunking. When it's done, have to paint over again, it's wasting my time and effort! !! !! Moreover by the time they can only do the trunking on the 3 December, my parquet is already up, and I've to protect all the flooring when before, I can just hack care! So angry that the stupid salesman didn't ask us whether we're running the trunking along the ceiling, and immediately assumed we're running it along the floor..dodo! And my husband who always acts so technically inclined and a-sai and looks down on me for knowing nuts about technical things, didn't even realise this folly himself! kenasai! -
I can feel tears welling up again.. I know exactly how you feel!!! The bond is indeed strong, that's why immediately after I discovered his death, my first words were, "We'll meet again!" I can almost feel his spirit hovering there as he just left his body. And I knew somehow he'll still come back in spirit to visit us. Ashamed to say, I got quite frightened when I think about that, I even say in my heart, "but don't suddenly appear in front of me!!" I could imagine when I'm asleep, he's standing there staring at me! If you think of it in the ghostly sense, quite scary! And it doesn't help that my sister talked about Stephen King's Pet Sematary, where she said all pets come back as evil ones!!! Argh!!! She's so insensitive. In fact, I kept dreaming about him. In the first few dreams, he was sick and I knew he was dying. In one dream, he died. But in all those horrible sad dreams that depict real-life, he ALWAYS came back alive in the end!!!! It's like I refused to accept he's really gone forever, so even if he cannot appear in front of me physically now, at least I can get to see him in my dreams.... I love this phrase, All dogs go to heaven. I hope to see him there one day. As I've read somewhere on the internet where they were discussing if pets have afterlife like humans, someone said it will NOT be heaven if our beloved pets are not there!!!! And God can do miracles, he can reunite owners and pets if he wants to. So there! That's how I comfort myself.

Yes, I do! Feel like crying just looking at his photo. Also when feeding the stray cat with his water bowl, feel so sad. I had 2 other dogs before him, sad to say, he has replaced them in my heart. That's why I'm also reluctant to get another pet, I don't ever wanna forget my special relationship with him, or replace him with another pet!!! He can be trusted completely, I can put my head beside him without being afraid he'll suddenly turn around and snap, can lie on him, can do anything I want, he has such a wonderful temperament!

Ya, there were a few times when he was resting on my sofa, and from back view my guest thought he's a human, because he has black hair, just like us! Heheh!! !! I've seen the one in the shampoo ad, the golden Afghan, suitable for fooling those in Western countries where there're blondes.

Is there a way to hide the air-con trunking? If cannot, how to minimise it? Quite depressing to know that despite getting a flat with hidden wiring, the air-con trunking would be exposed. My husband's plan is to run the trunking from compressor to MBR, continue to 2nd and finally continue to 3rd bedroom. Another trunking from compressor all the way to living room. Is there a better way or any other way??? Also for electrical wiring for my wall fans, is there also a way to hide the wiring? Is it by the hacking of wall and concealing it, the way y'all were discussing earlier? -
Picture of my handsome boy!

Ever since my beloved dog passed away in March, feels like a huge part of my routine missing, the caring for him, affection, etc. Recently, have been feeding a stray cat around my area. I stay on the 7th floor now, and not sure how this cat can climb all the way the 7th floor. Yesterday was the 3rd feeding and she's gettin used to us, less fearful and more daring! She has stayed overnight at my place for 2 nights, and last night caught her on the sofa sleeping! I've no heart to chase her off even though the cat is a dirty stray cat. By morning we chase her out of our house. I was thinking if this continues on till we move out in late Dec, early Jan, then I might just bring her over to my new place. Then again, I'm afraid she'll scratch and spoil the new furniture. And this time I'll be staying on a even higher higher floor, I'm reluctant to cat-proof my place by putting wire mesh at the windows and spoil my view! Argh, headache! Actually I kinda dread the tedious daily routine taking care of an animal. I kinda enjoy my freedom now, but I really miss the caring and affection part. My beloved dog has been making his presense known more frequently after we started taking care of the cat. I've been seeing his hair around the house. And nope, it's not human hair, I know his hair when I see it as I've been taking care of him for 10 years.

Haunted Experiences At Home

They're everywhere! !! Years ago, when my colleague first told me that, I freaked out, was so scared wherever I go. After a while, I got used to that fact. Last night I tried to listen out to the same tik tik tik tik tik tik tik sound. There was a very faint tik tik sound, but only tik tik abit then no more. So quite hard to investigate since the sound refused to continue! Funny leh, I want to investigate, then the stupid sound stops. Not too long ago, my parents went Koh Samui and the room was haunted. They think the ghost followed them back because some strange things happened after that. My mum was so scared, they arranged immediately for cleansing. The pastor told them the more you're fearful, the more those things will manifest themselves. After that, they decided not to fear and I also went around and command whatever it is to leave!! After that, no more problems. I hate it whenever I can suddenly smell incense burning, I read that it means they're nearby. -

Armani, which brand of water storage heater are you using? Is it good? How long does it take to heat up the water? Is it possible to use 2 instant water heaters to combine as one for a powerful jet and hotter water? I read someone saying using 2 coils will do the trick, what does that mean? And lastly, for condos, where do they hide the instant heater control? I feel like putting my instant heater control in the kitchen for both toliets, is that possible? -

Nope. No clock behind me. It comes from behind my bedframe, and the tik tik tik tik sound travels at random, like an irritating mosquito, doesn't keep still at one spot. Keep hearing it more and more frequently now, sickening! Maybe tonight I'll try and investigate!! -

Bored with my work, so I share here. Recently, keep hearing this soft tik tik tik tik tik sound behind my bed. Always can hear it whenever I off the lights and am going to bed. When I'm awake, don't hear it! Very irritating as it's becoming more frequent now. Not sure if it's supernatural, I thought it might be a lizard, water dripping, but still too lazy and not much guts to find out where that noise comes from. It doesn't sound natural, more like induced, which makes it sounds supernatural.. I told my hubby about the sound, then he sarcastically said ya, the aircon have a ghost inside! Then one night, he was still awake and I heard it. I asked him, can you hear that? He said yes! After that, he cannot sleep liao. Haha. -

Oooh, great, I'm not the only one who sees that white/black swirling mass! Usually it's white. Normally it swirls just above me, when I can finally move, I will command it to go away! Then it slowly continues swirling higher and higher towards the ceiling till it dissipates. I experienced once when that thing swirled closer to me instead when I ask it to leave! And remember I wrote before I suspect there are a few such entities? That's because I can see a few swirling masses above me, swirling at each own pace, and some black, some white ones. -

Tiredness? The thing is, too many times, I'm not tired at all and had too much sleep! Yet it happens. Applefreak, really? So I'm not the only one who sees that swirling mass? So happy to hear that! -
Need Help On Theme And Flooring

What a waste to hack away the expensive marble and replace with cheap white tiles. Just my personal humble opinion. -
Just like Granite top, if you ask any contractor, they should have contacts that can provide you a marble countertop. Or you can visit the marble factories at Sungei Kadut and personally choose your slab, can learn more about the various marble names and how it looks like. Quite interesting. It's calculated per sq meter or sq foot, depending on which factory you go to.
