What's your D & D theme for this year? Share share! What did you wear? Mine was Casino. Wore a shimmery green tube dress to match the poker table.
-
Having to wear skirt. Luckily I'm working on the lower floor, away from the eyes of the HR lady, those on the same level have to follow the rule strictly.
-
In my previous house, there were 2 rows of racks beside each side of the chimney hood to place stuff. No cabinets.

Wondering is it too early to ask the electrical shops to deliver my goods? My reno is not completed, and my fridge, washer, dryer, hob & hood will be arriving on Saturday. I'm afraid the worker might steal them or spoil them. Do you think it's safe enough? Already they've broken our ladder and stole the pole of my cheapo dustpan, amidst other missing small items. -

Need to check with y'all, I'm doing concealed wiring, my electrician wants to charge me $100 per point, is that considered expensive? Doing a total of 4 concealed points. -
I prefer fabric, it's NO-KILL and animal friendly.

Yup, after writing down all those, it helped me to clear my thoughts. I'll be getting a 75cm width fridge instead. Now to search for one that's white, if I really cannot find a white one, then I'll get that Mit 62T fridge. Logic is very simple, I do not need that extra cabinet space, so I might as well convert it all to cold space (i.e. fridge). Moreover the electricity bills is hypothetically less than $40 difference per YEAR between those two fridge models!

I'm having a white kitchen theme, with a splash of red in the middle. I think a white fridge will match very well with my white kitchen , but I'm also quite alright with a stainless steel fridge. My contractor has already constructed the kitchen cabinets so I can't change the dimensions now. I've 81cm width of space for a fridge. Thing is, if I take a 59cm fridge, I've too much gap space! If I take a 75cm fridge, it'll be just right! I'm shortlisting 2 fridges, the Mitsubishi Electric MRF62T Stainless Steel fridge. Width 75cm. It'll fit just right into the space, however, I'm not sure I need such a big fridge now as there're only 2 of us living in the house. and Hitachi R-S37SVS White Silver fridge. Width 59cm. If I'm taking this small fridge, I will construct an extra cabinet beside the fridge to fill the gap. I'm thinking of constructing a 18cm width tiny 5 drawers bottom cabinet, and shelvings for the top. Which option should I take? Anyone who has the above models, can you comment on them? Electrical consumption of a bigger fridge is NOT a problem as I've calculated the differences, it's not much.

Ohhh that means can dismantle the windows...he said it cannot be dismantled! Armani, your aircon man is more hardworking...haha. Actually if conditions are really so windy, I prefer to sleep without aircon and just on the fan. So my aircon is used just as a back-up. I'm quite alright with Daikin, only hope energy consumption will not be higher than Mit. I keep reading & hearing mixed reviews. Family & friends tell me Daikin is better, then forummers tell me Mit Starmex is better. Brrrr...it's so cold nowadays with that strong wind, I really don't see myself switching on my aircon much. -

Now I'm eyeing at one 68.5cm width fridge but height might still have problem, hopefully contractor left more than 1.8m space for me. My husband mentioned one 75cm fridge he saw in a brochure but this might have problem stuffing into that 80cm space ....my dad kept emphasizing that I should get a bigger fridge, he can't stand the small fridge that my mum bought for them. Haha. As for aircon, I think I'll get the Daikin sys 4 non-invertor which according to aircon man, it can fit through our small window. Cheaper than Mit Starmex too..ha..I'll just use our natural free "aircon" more often.. I think the stress of the reno must have gotten to both of us, that's why we fight! We already have plans to enrol for a marriage counselling programme right after this reno!! Thanks for the link, SPACE. -

Can they really slide the compressor across from the kitchen window to aircon ledge? My husband did suggest that yesterday, but the aircon man was reluctant, saying the compressor weights 80kg! And he mentioned that the aircon ledge might still be too small for that compressor. He kept singing praises for the Mit invertor version. hmm... -
Anyone got a direct discount for their Serta mattress on top of the"discounted" price? I could only get them to top up some more freebies, although can't think of much to ask for. I asked for additional softtoy, and she said one softtoy per bed only! Now I realised that's crap! Normally I won't buy if they won't give! But then my husband was protesting when I ask for more. Wished I did more research before committing, although I think the "free gifts" I got were pretty standard, and the salesgirl acting skills were very good, made it sound like what I was getting were items they normally wouldn't give out! They were quite hard on giving more and kept giving excuses why cannot give. Argh, shouldn't have been so fast to commit. I had to ask for the "free" bench when I believe it's a standard "gift". Then I asked for 2 extra pillows, which are normal ones, although she claimed they're the same as Serta ones, without the labels. And she made it sound like they're coming out of her own pocket. Sheesh!

I went to check out the Hitachi white/silver fridge, and Indesit already. The Indesit is indeed big, tall, and white, price reasonable, but inside abit old fashioned, not very spacious, I think it's just bulky. If I were to go for it, it's for the looks only. Then again, I've read really bad reviews about their fridges, so will not be getting it. Hitachi is very slim, modern looking. It looks white enough to me. But I'm afraid overtime, the ice-maker function might spoil and give off a smell. Folio baby is very expensive for that size, and honestly, I can't see anything very special about it, although I've read raves about it. I've another problem with space allocated. We gave some strange dimension to our contractor, end up we have 80cm of width space and 180cm height space to work with. If fridge too slim like Hitachi, then too much space leftover, looks funny. Indesit fridge is too tall, cannot fit in too. Arghhh, so I'll most likely be switching to Mitsubishi stainless steel fridge, forget about colour .

I was taking the Mit system 4 non-invertor, that's why cannot go through the window. Yesterday I went down to the aircon shop and ask my salesman to calculate the "savings" I can get if I can switch to Mit invertor, we calculated based on 12 hours every night for one room. Can save $30 a month, so can breakeven in 3 years. quite worth it, if hypothesis is right. But I feel that our Tanglin Halt area is quite windy, so I might not even on the aircon as often as my current place. How about the rest of you? Do you still on the aircon every night despite the windy conditions? I'm tempted to live in my unit for one week before deciding if I really need an invertor aircon. As for my fridge space, we asked the contractor to leave a 80cm gap. It is too big a gap for a 60cm fridge. At that time, we didn't want too small a gap in case we upgrade to a bigger fridge in the future. Argh, I thought of doing some tiny shelving, but it's too wierd. So now I'm trying to find a big enough fridge to make the gap less obvious. Now, I'm still hoping very much to get back the Sitex promotion. Crap, why didn't I pay attention to it in the first place??? -

Oh no, I missed the Sitex promotion for the Panasonic Plasma TV! Is there a way to get back the same promo???? I wanna cancel my buy from Goh Ah Bee, they haven't delivered. Sigh! My Serta mattress buy is my first rash buy, now getting confused. Went to check the IMM outlet, doesn't have my model. Seems like their models are not standardised, different places sellings models with different names. I'm still having the fridge headache. Which fridge can I buy that is around 70cm width, not more than 180cm height, that is white or stainless steel colour??? We asked the contractor to leave too big a gap, I want to get fridge that happens to be 60cm width only, but gap is too big!! What can I do with the big gap??? My aircon also got problem. Today they did the trunking the aircon man said my Mit non-invertor air-con cannot go through the window, asked us to change aircon model. Now I don't know whether to take Daikin non-invertor or switch to Mit invertor. Hate this reno! -
Thanks! I'll defintely check out the Indesit fridge, hope it meets my budget and size. Samsung has a white standard-size fridge? I thought don't have, is it a 2-door fridge? Argh, most likely have to get the white Folio baby. My aunt wants to sponsor me a fridge, aiming for not more than $1000, but now, guess I gotta pay for this myself and ask her to sponsor something else. The Hitachi fridge is indeed the R-S37SVS. I've the flyer in front of me, it's quite deceiving because the stainless steel model looks lighter than the actual thing, so I can suspect the "white" silver fridge is also actually darker than the picture shown.

That fridge is nice, I know which one. Was eyeing at it initially, but my fridge is placed at the left corner, so cannot open the left door of the fridge fully if I were to buy it I do not want Fisher and Payker because there's no chiller. Most likely I'll have to take Mitsubishi Folio Baby, but it's quite ex for that size. Hitachi has a model that comes in silver white, anyone has seen it? I've only seen the stainless steel version on display at HN Millenia. Anywhere that displays the silver white version?

Hi Lakmy, have PM you!

I've started my own blog at http://myrenoblog.blogspot.com. Since there's this T-blogging thingy, I think I'll update here whenever I feel like it too. It's my first reno, so I wanna make a big deal out of it. Hehe. Can't wait to move into my new home and feel free to do whatever I please!

I also went there over the weekend. Prices are way lower here.

Yes, it is nice. I LOVE our photos!! Beautiful sunset, something out of the box! I'm proud to say I had the idea, researched on it, planned it out, coordinated everything myself, and it turned out really well. Best of all, it doesn't bust our budget. Will definitely visit Samui again to bring back the memories.. Oh yeah..I might even plan another wedding photo shoot somewhere in Thailand, near the sunflower fields..probably during one of our wedding anniversaries.. It's a matter of having ideas and taking the effort to implement them. Who says wedding photos are once in a lifetime, and MUST splurge on buying all those photos from bridal shops?! I intend to take romantic photos as and when I feel like it.
-
I don't even have a wedding album even though I've been married for over a year..haha. All my photos are on CD-ROM, I created a blog for people to view the photos instead with my own commentary. I'm still too lazy to print the photos in an album, but will do so before my housewarming... I might just select certain photos and blow them up as wall art in my new home instead. I've seen some couples poor wedding albums being manhandled and looks dirty and even torn, after being flipped by so many people during their wedding day. I was thinking another alternative is to create a blog with all the photos, insert music, and allow people to view through laptop/s. Of course someone must man the lappies to prevent some idiots from stealing them! I took my photos in Koh Samui and I think I definitely spent lesser than all of you! Took back all my photos, no disputes! The photographer is a local Thai, so the rates were cheap!

My hubby drove the car too..we were in Koh Samui and had to head to a few places, and were not that familar with the roads. Still it was a very enjoyable day. Hee hee..brings back memories! -
I've been looking at fridges for a long time until I'm quite embarrassed to go down to the same few shops to look again. I've changed my mind again, initially I wanted a stainless steel fridge, but now I need a white fridge to match my kitchen. Other than Fisher & Payker, any other standard size fridge that's white in colour? Looking for one that's around 400L+ with the ice-maker at the top. Preferably not more than $1200.
