Is Allure (Vinyl Planks) Safe?
besachu replied to besachu's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
I've googled Allure and seems like people with or can develop allergies with it. So it's a "if you don't get it, good for you thingy". To note, I think most of the people who commented in the following websites are Europeans. But it may explains some causes to allergies that people develope nowadays. Perhaps, the product itself is innate but under some conditions, it gives off some chemical content that some people will be allergic to. Hey, it's just my guess. http://ottoblotto.blogspot.sg/2009/08/allure-flooring-stinks.html But according to another website, it claims that Allure does not or gives off little off-gassing. http://community.homedepot.com/t5/Laminate-Vinyl-and-Wood/Allure-Ultra-Resilient-Plank-Flooring/td-p/13243/page/7 (please scroll to the middle of the webpage) The manufacturer gives the vinyl planks a new name as High end resilient flooring (HERF). Removing the word vinyl does help to take people's attention off that it is vinyl. Still, I'm deciding, install vinyl planks and live with whatever might have allergies or laminate flooring. By the way, it is no gaurantee that the laminate flooring is allergy free cos afterall, who knows what's inside? -
Since it is new n u under warranty, why don't u get your aircon installer to rectify it? Which company did for u?

Saw most of the toilet bowls ranged from 200+ to 300+ and may come with toilet sink promotion but got no idea how is the flushing like. The stores recommended toilet bowls with "Gerberit" system. Supposed to be strong flushing yet save water at the same time. Price? $550 onwards Anyone can recommend a toilet bowl with strong flushing system & price around $300 plus. Of course the cheaper the better Thanks in advance

Is Allure (Vinyl Planks) Safe?

To add, all the companies have some kind of warranty but all don't cover against water damages. Rain or you spilled and left the water there, good luck. -
Went to expo yesterday to check out on laminate flooring. The companies there are Supreme, Inovar, Floor Depot, Krono-O & Evorick. Only Floor Depot claims that their 4G flooring is made of wood and waterproof. Their product range from $2.50 to $8 per sq ft (2G, 3G & 4G). Can anyone who tried Floor Depot 2G care to comment on their product quality & installation and after sales service? $2.50 sounds very tempting. They don't go by AC3,4 or 5 kind of grading, just 2G, 3G & 4G. To the main point, we heard much about vinyl flooring is health hazard. It was there that I realized that Allure flooring from Evorich is actually vinyl material. Is it safe? They pricing I think is around $5.9 to $6.2 per sq ft. I found out about Allure being vinyl material at Krono-O booth. Krono-O also offer vinyl planks at $4.5 per sq ft. So now I'm deciding AC3 or vinyl planks. If vinyl plank is safe, I'll go for Krono-O. If not, I'll probably go for AC3. don't give a **** about what aluminum peroxide over the surface that make it more abrasive proof. My choice is mainly Krono-O & Evorich cos read a few threads about the installation and after sales services of Supreme & Inovar made me strike them off my list. Floor Depot didn't hear much so strike off my list also.

Common Problem Faces When Comparing Quotes
besachu replied to EdmundTan's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
You can't compare cos they'll have variations in their design. Usually each ID will be good at something. 20 quotes is really **** too much to digest. Why not get quotes from 3 recommended ID and compare design and whether each is within budget?
