  1. hi bro - here goes: 1) 434L Nett Capacity 2) Silver Nano Health System™ - The silver nano coating in the inner lining of the refrigerator prevents propagation of bacteria, hence providing more hygenic storage area. 3) Multi-Air Flow 4) i-Touch 5) Twist Ice Maker 6) Chill compartment 7) Tempered glass shelves 8) Matt Silver in color For the detailed specs, you can go here - http://www.samsung.com/sg/products/refrige...er/rt52eamt.asp I got it from Mustapha. After going to Hong Liang, Maximum Credit, not forgetting the other big stores like Best Denki, BIG, Harvey Norman, it was most surprising to find the best deal at Mustapha.
  2. After much shopping and hunting for bargains, here are some new items for the house we've bought. Delivery on the 15th of May. 1) Pioneer Home Theatre System - Cost: $540. 2) Samsung Fridge (RT-52EAMT) - Cost: $650 3) LG Washing Machine - Cost: $250 We also bought the whole Elba set - Elba hood, Elba hob and Elba oven. Wanted to go for Cuizino actually, but in the end the wifey said that Elba oven was good enough, so we got that one instead
  3. electricals as in electrical appliances? not yet bro! will definitely check them out too where are they located at?
  4. bought already bro. from VLux... our ID managed to get us a nice little discount there, so was much appreciated. Spent about $700+ in all over there
  5. thanks for all the advice and concern mates. will certainly be installing a good security alarm soon. with the number of breaking and entering cases these days, it's no longer safe to assume that your neighbours can help keep a lookout. after talking to several people and getting quotes, we've decided to go with tiling for both our toilets to cover up the ugly HDB ones. Newkoat left me very disappointed. They were the first ones to come down to our place to take measurements of the toilets, but after 2 weeks, still no quotation. I don't want to go after them, cause as the customer, I find it awfully silly that I have to beg you to take my business. Poh Chin was very friendly and came up with a quote of $1000 per toilet for spraypainting all the walls and the floors. But my ID came up with a counter offer of $1100 for ALL the tiling work for the walls and floors of all the toilets so I'm going with him instead. Selected all the tiles yesterday and spent >$1000 in Sim Siang Choon buying ALL the toilet stuff (2 x WC units, 2 x sprays, 2 x rain showers, kitchen sink, mixer taps.....) Now bleeding terribly because of a lack of vitamin M.
  6. don't be upset honey. If i catch the guy who did this, i promise i'll rape his backside hole with a cactus plant.
  7. No mate, no chance to ask as yet. But will do so this evening. You're probably right. Coz Jan and I left around 10 - so the question is, who could be so boliao as to do all this around 11+ or even later?
  8. NICE LIGHTS! i much much like. oh and it's soooo nice to see someone else with a mahjong room
  9. neighbours? possible. but why is the reno disturbing them? WE HAVN'T EVEN STARTED RENO PROPER AS YET! ONLY ELECTRICAL WORK!! tw@ts.... this kind of thing is forcing my long-supressed beng side out....
  10. Bloody angry! Got awoken this morning by a very flustered Jan who called me, telling me something about how the ID and the contracters kenna locked out of our JW flat. (Jan can't speak mandarin well) So i called up our ID and asked him exactly what was going on. (You see, currently, we're using a bicycle chain and padlock on our front gate and the key is hidden behind our gas meter. ID's idea. Cause we cannot give them a duplicate copy of the key mah and they've used this method many times. In any case, nothing inside to steal, so i said ok) He told me that SOMEBODY HAD REMOVED THE BICYCLE CHAIN AND PADLOCK AND PUT ON A BRAND NEW PADLOCK IN ITS PLACE. Which is weird, cause Jan and I just went down to inspect last night around 8+. Everything was still fine. Which means that SOMEONE came back after we left to change the padlock secretly. BUT WHY??? Why would a total stranger want to do that? He gains nothing from doing this what! Other than the satisfaction of seeing us all frustrated and flustered. Harmless prank or outright vandalism? Was someone hoping to steal stuff, not knowing that it is an empty flat? I'm seriously pissed. This 'prank' has caused my men to be unable to start work because nobody can now go in. They'll be hacking this padlock later, but because there's no lights in my place, this has caused a slight delay. If I find that f****r who did this......
  11. thx ans! yours is starting soon! pity you and the others are living in a different part of JW... so sad. Jan and I are like outsiders. Got our aircon system yesterday! I know that HongTar is super recommended by forummers in here so we went down... but although they were really nice and friendly, their prices were a bit...ex So in the end we bought it from Best Tech in IMM. Toshiba Inverter Sys 3 - 22000 BTU for living room, 2 x 9000 BTU for the two bedrooms. (Mahjong room I already have a Carrier window aircon. Good enough.) Cost - $2600.
  12. yeah, tell me about it. Jan and i are staying in a rented flat now. in our very first month here, I admit we went a BIT overboard. Excited at staying together mah. had friends over every night, watch football till morning everyday, aircon turned on almost 24/7, mahjong... you get the idea. The electricity bill came and it was bloody $200! but that one is our fault so no one to blame but ourselves. We then learnt our lesson next month and cut down by so much - but who knew that the bloody PUB was going to ESTIMATE our bill for that month, so they probably thought that we were going to use that much AGAIN. and our bill came up to $200. AGAIN! No way to dispute. Only during the 3rd month did our bill come up to $70
  13. Reno has started! Yesterday actually. heh. Yesterday evening, Jan and I decided to drive down to JW for dinner and to spot check if they really did start work yesterday or keh siao only. So we went there at night and were pleasantly surprised - Wiring work had already begun and the lighting points all had wires hanging there already!! Good good! Tonight super busy so not planning to go down
  14. If I'm not wrong, they'll be extending the gas piping to the stove area. And intall the gas heater as well. Will find out more this Sat when they come down to do the entire thing. Should be interesting.
  15. Yeah, jan and I just bought a flat during the recent WIS at Blk 276B. Funny thing - more than 12 units in my block were snapped up during the WIS but I can't find any of them in here...
  16. Of course I'm still waiting, Mr Chong. Thanks so much for your advice. Will certainly not waste it. (Although if you don't mind me asking, how come seem so serious like that? You mean the other days are not as good as this one? Hope you won't get offended. I'm just a newbie trying to learn. )
  17. you guys so lucky.... all so near each other and know each other some more. i know that quite a few units were recently snapped up in my block and someone on the 6th floor is doing reno but i hunt left, hunt right also cannot find that person in here.
  18. lol trouble is that jan really cannot stand our toilet tiles, both on the floor and on the wall. So we're now considering the 3 options - 1)Cement screed over with a diff. colour 2)Overlay of tiles 3)Spray paint
  19. Hi Ben, thanks for your advice! Did you do cement screeding for your toilets? Any idea how much it should cost? We're weighing our options now before committing to anything you see...
  20. Thank you! Wow that price is very good. Sigh, in the end didn't get to meet the spray paint man cos we were late for the appointment. We got lost on the way to our flat! Jia lat, not familiar with the small roads in JW la. By the way, has anyone heard of cement screeding or plastering over the tiles in the toilet for an industrial look? We were thinking maybe can paint it after that as well... Instead of overlaying, hacking or painting?
  21. super tired.... now rushing a paper by 4 and then tonight we're going down with the spray paint people to check out the toilets cantona7 - yeah, jan's main concern is the kitchen. and the toilets. weird huh? mace, thanks for helping jan out. she called me and told me how helpful you were. cheers! odie - tiring sia. dunno whether or not it's a good thing, but jan and i seem to be way too decisive. we took only 10 mins to pick out all our lights. scared next time will regret. heh
  22. Some basic pictures - you guys have all seen it before. it's the standard layout of the standard flat This is the living room - This is the kitchen - This is the master bedroom - This is the guest room - This is my favourite room - the MAHJONG room - !!
  23. actually.......... the best place to buy such stuff would be from your church directly. that way, you can get the pastor or priest to bless the item immediately too. Have you tried Novena church? Their stuff is there supposed to especially potent...
  24. WE FINALLY OPENED THE DOOR TO OUR NEW PLACE!!! Pics to follow up soon - i left the camera in the car. Special thanks to Cantona7 and ah wai who was so super helpful all the way. Especially Cantona7 who even called me up to tell me the good times to open the door so I could do so without a heavy heart! Thanks guys, you're the best!
