Well the wife and myself are color eccentric people,we love colors. Our fittings and furniture are quite a riot of colors and we love the process of mix matching them to suit our lifestyle.

Flooring Basically the drop in cement screeding @ the main door is reserved for a feature floor tiles.The rest of the floor area awaiting for vinyl laying due next week.Will update the rooms and living room flooring here. Feature floor tiling (Expensive tiles but wat to do,want nice must pay nice $$ also ) Hope you guys/gals able to see the so call geometric boxes .

From my own home experience,yes need to top up as the FOC is barely enough.Discuss with the appointed HDB contractor,inform him you are using what kind of mm lamnates or vinyl. For mine im using 5mm vinyl and i ask the hdb contractor to top up up to the height difference . I inform him beforehand when i was given the contact number of the hdb contractor that i need to top up and inform him i know the requirements. Coffee $$ as everyone always say. -

Hey Freb,nice seeing you here in my humble blog,your home is progressing nicely.Kitchen tiles was not hack. Cement screed the expose kitchen wall tiles. Kitchen floor default HDB tiles. Less is more .But not less to the direction of minimalist,will suffocate . lol

Thanks Toastbox . I hired an ID .Scandi + industrial is the way to go to soften the coldness of industrial with the soft cozy feel of scandi.

Bathroom revamps As usual the standard BTO bathroom layout is really CMI.Plus the tiles was ok but due to design flow decided to overlay both bathrooms.I have seen plenty of nice houses with nice theme but owner scrimp and save on the bathrooms.In the end design theme doesnt flow nicely. Savings from other areas are channel through the making of the bathrooms. Stay tune.

Pre Renovaton Works Cement screeding provided by HDB contractor after succesful appeal.HDB will only provide up to 40mm,if theres a need to top up to desired height due to vinyl or laminates laying,need to fork out extra.Cost saving measure though than to pay 1.5-2k on cement screeding before June. Lucky me my HDB appointed contractor did a good job,no bumpy or sandy spot detected . Forget to take living and bedrooms pics. Overall feel the wifey and me trying to achieve ; 1) Easy to maintain (no brick walls and false ceiling ) 2) The feel and look that doesn't go out like a fad in 3-5years time 3) To portray the character of the home owner (laidback,colourful persona) 4) Colours.The contrasting effects of different elements and accessories in different part of the home.In the end accesories make or break the home styling. As i go along,hopefully the end product and design depict what we had in mind ID Selection process; NIL As i had underwent my parents BTO reno last year,i was kinda grateful i learn along the way through a actual process.The workmanship,follow up,assistance was quite good by the ID .No headache and time wasting on finding ID ,price wise not cheap not expensive average and the quality and workmanship of the carpentry is good .Time was diverted and spent on researching and shopping online on Amazon and Taobao.
