  11. I think millipedes are very common after any construction. That time I saw a lot of millipedes also at Ghim Moh upgraded flats. Now they are gone after many deck washing by Town Council in a year time or so. Well, I guess we just have to wait ba...
  12. I think the government just want to encourage us to sell our cars and take the public transport instead. I remembered one ex-colleague of mine with 2 kids already have planned to sell away his after the MRT circle line starts. He said, "Once the circle line is ready, it is not necessary to drive a car liao..." Hmm....is it true? MRTs are always congested especially when there's a train fault like yesterday at west bound line...
  13. !! Yah, I saw them running around the grass patches too. They are quite young, not those big big ones but still ministry of environment must control a bit. !!
  14. Yup, no point complain about it. Just use it until it's old and then change to a waterjet type of toilet bowl. Wow...Shiok!
  15. I also have this problem when I press and hold the flush button. When I press a quick one and release, the flushing power seem to be better but still have colored water sometimes.
  16. Last week my wife and I nearly knocked down by a car driven by a young male driver. Thank god we are alright. We were crossing the road at the traffic light near block 91 below the MRT tracks when suddenly we heard a car made an emergency brake (very loud and scary screeching sound)at the 3rd lane right before the center pavement. We were shocked that the car didn't notice the red light. Maybe there are some palm trees or plants blocked the traffic light. So have to be careful whenever you guys cross the road there even though it is red light.
  17. Quoted from 'vineyard' on removing the grilles... "Oh I am finally back... I also took out the bottom grilles of the living room.. at first looks scary but it actullay looks much nicer and more 'open' feeling. Not to mention that its much much easier to clean that part of the window. I have asked my contractor before, and they all mentioned that its not allowed to remove the grill. So after they hand over, i just took it out myself, actually very easy. All you need is a pen knife and a screw driver. 1. Remove the plug that blocks the hole to the screws. 2. Slice away the silicon glue at the angle bars that is connected at the edge 3. Unscrew all the screws (i forgot i think its 6 screws per panel) 4. Remove gently without scratching the sides and alot of aluminium dust will fall out so watch out 5. wahla.. . nice clear view! Just keep the grill in your bomb shelter, and when you need to sell your flat later or need to install grill for all your windows, then just put it back... disclaimer: pls dun hold me liable for any damages or fine for illegally removing it... actually i also duno if its really not allowed to remove it or not..." Hope it helps
  18. I see...ok, no problem. How about 'ppbbxhz'? Can we go up sometime this week or next week in the evening for a visit? !!
  19. Hi Jule, Have you moved in? Mind if I (and my wife) drop by your home for a visit sometime this week or next week?
  20. I think your husband is really 'sandwiched' between you and his family. When he lost his temper and slammed the door at you, these are symtoms of stress. When a guy cannot think of a solution to a problem, he'll get really mad, I sometimes do. Guys cannot let people (especially the wife) to think that we are useless or incapable of doing things or solve problems. If things can get serious, the guy may get into depression, unless with a supportive friend or spouse. What you have to do now is try to calm him down and not talk about the grilles, imagine a non-living thing (window grille) making everyone unhappy, affecting emotions, worth it? Another great solution is to install air-con for the whole house so no windows is to be opened at all times. Well, provided that you have enough budget for that...hehe..
