  1. Hi guys, Currently we have a wooden cabinet underneath the stove and wash area. Of course throughout the years from time to time water get into wooden frame of the cabinet. So right now the cabinet frame gave up and can't hold the cabinet doors anymore. Do you have any recommended shop/person who can fix this kind of problem? I firmly believe that we only need to replace the wooden frame and put back all the cabinet doors but the first person I ask to repair it told me that he has to remove and scrap everything and replace it with a plastic cabinet and it will cost me $400 plus! Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Enzo
  2. Hi guys, I have a problem right now with one of the hinge of our iron gate door. One washer/nut is missing therefore the door lock is not leveled, we have to lift the door to align the door lock every time we want to lock the door. Do you know any company who do repair this kind of doors or may be do you know where I can buy washer/nut? It's easy to DIY but I really don't know where to get the washer and also may be the hinge needs some hammering to get back into perfect level. UPDATE: We actually have an aluminum gate not iron gate Thanks Enzo
  3. Hi guys, Currently we do have centralized water heater for our 2 toilets. But right now it's leaking and the recommendation I got from ariston customer service is to replace it than repair it since it's leaking. Since now I get the chance to change the water heater since we bought the hdb unit, I was thinking which type of water heater is economical, the centralized one or those heater that are installed on per toilet? And what brand have you tried and tested that is of good built and quality. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. And also I don't have any idea on how much those heater cost and what are the things that I should take into consideration. Thanks in advance, Enzo
  4. Hi guys! Just got our toshiba 4 sys installed last saturday from Gain City Marina Square. We paid 3.4k and upgraded the pipes and insulation plus bracket and an additional 4 yrs to warranty which adds up to a total of 4.2k The only thing that I'm expecting to pay after the installation is the looping or rewiring of the wires from the power point since our current power pt is in our service balcony where our current compressor was also placed. The salesman told me that first 5ft is free then the next ft is $1/ft. The new compressor was installed on the 2nd common room, and I was charged with $80. I was a bit surprised. So the salesman called me and explained that the technician installed a much higher grade of wiring and so so. Now my question are, is $80 too much for the looping? And also is there such thing as an upgrade on the electrical wiring used? Because why it was never brought up when I was upgrading the insulation and copper wire. And also there were no receipt for the $80. Another thing was the insulation, of course they need to fit it in the holes, so I've seen some of the insulation scrapped off and cuts. Is this normal and acceptable? And my last concern was the copper wire, I forgot how the normal one look like against the upgraded one so I'm not pretty sure. And also they brought a number of different sizes of copper wire which added to my confusion. I was worried if there were any case wherein the installers try to cheat on the material that they use during installation. I could not communicate well with the 3 guys doing the installation because they all can't speak english well. But I'm quite ok with their service, they wouldn't even dare to stop when I bought them something for lunch, they just had a short break around in the afternoon. BTW here is the link of the aircon sys that we purchased http://www.coolserve.com.sg/htmdocs/produc...ils.asp?id=2028 Thanks, Enzo
  5. I got the same too at Gain City Marina Square, though I did not opt for the free dvd recorder so it was $400 less Instead I upgraded the insulation to 1/2" armaflex and copper to 22(i think). And extended the warranty to yrs , total cost is around 4.2k (including the bracket)
  6. @imidazole no need to waste some time sir, thanks. I already purchased system 4 Toshiba at Gain City Marina Square yesterday, and they will install it on the 28th of this month. I paid $4,231 including the insulation & copper ugrade and a plus 4 yr warranty.
  7. As I didn't get any feedback or suggestion anymore, I just went ahead and purchase a System 4 Toshiba from Gain City Marina Square. 3x9,000 BTU 1x22,000 BTU 1x34,000 BTU (compressor) --------------------------------- $3,399 plus upgrade to 1/2" Armaflex insulation - $150 upgrade copper to 22 - $80 bracket - $150 additional 4 yrs warranty - $439 TOTAL DAMAGE : $4,218 I dunno if I got a good or bad deal.
  8. Does it matter on which branch of gain city you get your aircon, I mean when most people say they have got a good package and installation from gain city, does it mean only on IMM branch? Because currently I'm eyeing on buying one at Gain City but Marina Square branch. And I was wondering too, are most of the Mitshubishi users here using unit from Mitshubishi Electric or Mitshubishi Heavy Industries? Thanks.
  9. May be it has something to do with the installation or may be you were just unlucky to have a faulty compressor. Do you mind sharing as to what aircon system installed and whom did you get the services? I'm looking for an aircon myself right now, may be I could get some insights from your experience. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the input, actually I have read a lot of post from this forum as far as year 2006 though still a bit unclear especially on those insulator and copper things. I guess for now my best bet would be to go to Gain City since they offer deferred payment at 0% interest.
  11. Hi Guys, Currently looking for system 4 inverter aircon to replace our current system 3 aircon. Had narrow down my choices from Mitshubishi and Toshiba. As for the dealer, based from what I've read from most of the post, it seems that Gain City has the least problem on the installation. Hong Tar seems to have good reputation too but I don't know their showroom to check with their prices, and do they also give 0% interest on installment? I did get the formula to get the recommend BTU per room, but looking on our floor plan i dunno what were the measurements used, so basically right now I'm assuming that I should looking for 3x9,000 BTU since most of the rooms are of the same sizes and practically not that big then 1x15,000 above BTU for outdoor which basically comprises the living and dining room. The entire unit is 98sqm, do you think my assumption would suffice? It has came to my attention also that Mitshubishi Electric is totally different from Mitshubishi Heavy Industries. Most people recommend Mitshubishi, but from which company? Have been checking coolserve website, and it seems that most of their system 4 aircon would cost around 4k and above including the bracket. While I checked Gain City in Marina Sq, Mitshubishi is around 3.7k not including the bracket. And they will dismantle the old system for free if we give them the old system. Are the prices reasonable? Another concern of mine is that currently our compressor is placed INSIDE our service balcony, so I was wondering if they would additionally charge us since now the new compressor will be placed outside? Thanks in advance. Any other suggestions, recommendations or inputs would be greatly appreciated. Enzo
  12. Wow that was pretty expensive! Actually I was already starting the sanding of the cabinets, I was still thinking whether I should do the paint job or should hire someone with expertise because of course I dun want to spoil our kitchen cabinets hehehe. How I wish that I'm a handy man.
  13. Hi! Due to budget constraints, I just decided that our kitchen cabinets will just be repainted. Do you guys know how much would it cost me for the paint job services, excluding of course the paints since this will all depends on what type of paint that will be used. Thanks in advance!
