  1. congrats! I enjoyed reading your blog and the conversations with Mr K, and cant tell that you and your wife are very demanding and fussy customers. I thought you and your wife are happy-go-lucky kind haha. Have a question regarding the placement of the lovely yellow lamp in the living room, is it dimmable? I wont be able to tahan the brightness if I am sitting there I had a few misses during the reno, had to bang table once till the dust on the bar counter rised but compared to what some forummers had to deal with mine is ikan billis, sometimes being demanding and forceful helps Vanessa and her trusted kitchen helper bf were at my place few days ago and she couldnt believe when I told her I banged table and made the countertop guy took back the piece to the factory to make the corrections and came back 5-6 hours later, and apologised for making me so upset.
  2. Hi ZIhui, Its really time consuming isnt it? Salute to the TBers! I tried '发夹腿' without success and tried doing a wider scope search with '北欧家具' (scandi furniture) hoping to find a nice hairpin legs coffeetable with the intention of reusing the legs when I get bored with the table. Only saw one three-legged table out of the 10-20 pages I checked.
  3. zihui you should ask Vanessa for her smokee duck and sticky chicken salad! the smoked duck she used is from a food wholesaler not bad at all! I will have the shepard pie she made for dinner tonight ;-)
  4. hi greglhc how much will it cost to ship the hairpin legs to singapore? I hv seen 2 pairs of legs for coffeetable on usa website for less than usd 100, and Esty has a set of 4 for s$58 http://www.etsy.com/listing/111729276/hairpin-legs-12-set-of-4
  5. hi Zihui, I am very impressed with Vanessa's hunts from taobao !she doesnt even know how to read chinese and had to rely on google chrome for the translation! 8. hihi no I dont have a T-blog hihi Zihui,The lamp is orange color leh it matches the orange FLY pendant light I bought brand new from a french woman on criags . I like the splash of color too! I have an orange kettle cum tea pot from Tangs and an orange butter dish from robinsons, and picked an empty wine bottle with a splash of orange as display on the wall-mounted wine rack . the orange table lamp reminds me of the robot No5 somehow haha

  10. hi oldskool this place might have: http://singapore.craigslist.com.sg/fuo/3973032793.html I saw a lot of old doors, window grills on their FB page. you can try asking your contractors to keep an lookout for you. I got an old aluminum toilet door for my old place through the guy who serviced my aircon. He moonlights on his day off and I got him to do small jobs like painting, install lightings, blinds and shortened the legs of the daybed (to make it preggie woman friendly after seeing my pregnant sister in law and friend 's legs dangling in the air while sitted lol)

  13. haha I am not crazy over the chicken wings and I have the meatballs once in a while. I like their almond cake and curry puff! AV hawker centre is awesome indeed, too spoilt for choice. I like the avocado juice, hainanese chicken rice, char siew + roast pork rice, mutton claypot, prawn noodle, clakypot laksa, satay, white coffee, the silver fish bun from the small bakery stall and more. drool!
  14. the one facing the main road? yes I tabao their soon kuehs countless times and I rarely eat at IKEA restuarant whenever I go IKEA coz there are so many stalls selling yummy local food at the AV hawker centre. What I like is most of the stalls are still manage by the stall owners themselves and not some low wage workers.

  16. Can you explain why epoxy is not recommended for floor? I had cement screed with a layer of epoxy over it on walls and floor at my old place. No issue at all.
  17. I can see a "Like This" button on every post but it doesnt work when I clicked on it. it says I have reached the positive feedback quota for the day? I cant imagine living without a dryer, esp for drying bed linens!
  18. I love the design too! I am not a vintage collector cannot comprehend why the set is priced so high but apparently they are, quite sought after! Out of curiousity I did a google on the ping pong bowls and found out that the set of crokery has great historical value. The term "ping pong politic" was coined in the 70s and the visit by president Nixions was a great historical moment. The town that produced the set is well known for its fine china. I have never heard of Li Ling and cant even pronounce the name Li Ling in chinese http://wapbaike.baidu.com/view/855621.htm?adapt=1&
  19. hi oldskool, need more ping pongs to complete your collection? :: http://singapore.craigslist.com.sg/hsh/3962810259.html

  23. Hi oldskool and Vanessa,My bro agreed to let go of the ping pong bowls! I told him I will exchange them with child friendly bowls + cutleries for his three kids (the three messing with my chalkboard in one of the photod on my flickr). Can I propose oldskool to get me the bowls and cutleries and Vanessa trade some old school desserts with the two bowls? Fair deal?
  24. Morning Mrs Foo, What ranting? Your blog gave us a peep into a DIY Expert ID's own home reno journey and an insight in the contractor/ID trade in some of your blog posts! Keep up the sharing ! I contacted your hubby through June few months ago for a very small project to custom make a mid height wardrobe. Very impressed with his attitude!
