Hi ooonik, I can give u the contact of my painter. He did a very good job giving us 3 coats(1 coat sealant, 2x paint) for all the walls using nippon 3-in-1 medifresh which a 2nd highest grade paint in nippon series. and also he did the doors and gate too , job well done.

i think so but the difference is really minimum. recently we got our toshiba aw950s washer for $560 and fridge grm66sda $1040 from gain city for toshiba promotion and it comes iwth $100 voucher can be use in cold storage, 7-11, giant. Then we go hong liang and find that the washer cost $580 and the fridge cost $1050. So around $30 more in Hong liang.

We got curtains from Peter Lee from Hock Seng Curtains, he seemed very earnest and came down to our flat to measure and we haggle over the price, finally decide to use him lor since we also dun want to go around hunting for curtain maker, very tiring as we into last strtch of our reno work. We use day and night curtains, 3x roller blinds from him for 1.2k , considered reasonable ba. Also i gave ur ID to my fren cos i already got my own contractor actaully.

actually only those newly launch private condos at prime district are 'so high' now. The rest like HDB, landed property are still way off the pre 1997 levels. I can understand how ur hubby feels. Cos i use to live in boon lay and work in kallang. No joke if by public transport. Every morning really play musical chairs - from bus stop -> boon lay mrt station -> 1hr ride + wait -> change bus to industrial estate. Reach work place already !! I think with Seng kang, public transport will be like this : lrt-> NEL-> mrt-> bus , can be quite shiong. Most ppl who stay in Sengkang actaully bot a car from, what i know. I think an alternative will be Tampines, it is a matured estate and with Mr Mah behind, they build very good facilities for the residents.
