  1. I had the same frameless shower screen, you can scroll up to the post above. I did question my ID a few times if it's stable, she said it's fine... But it turned out otherwise, so I suggested either removing the entire shower screen or secure it by any means, for free. !!
  2. You can press him on, why wasn't that "stainless steel bar" mentioned the first time during the discussion when he/you suggested having a frameless tempered glass shower screen? Is that his first time doing something like that? He should know better if it's secured or not and whether the stainless steel bar is needed to keep it in place.
  3. Hi Guys, My layout is like this ... That's why I can only do up one piece. The other end where the toilet bowl is, I put up a shower curtain still, the water can actually splash that far to wet my toilet bowl (around 4 ft+ distance).. Picture rather than photo, it's quite messy now after I moved in.
  4. Cindy ... Mine's 4ft X 6ft = $480. Kitty ... I'm not sure what is the layout of your bathroom like. I made the glass for the sides and I still need shower curtains at the end. I'll try to draw out some pictures later.
  5. Hi, I'm facing the same problem!!! There is a layer of brownish stains on my dish drainer which I believe to be RUST. My ID thinks so also, but the guy who installed the dish drainer, he simply wiped it off with a scrubpad, insisted that it's not rust and it's dirt. What rubbish was that??? Cups/Bowls just washed and left there to dry and got dirt??
  6. I did the same stainless steel guard/bar, did he charge you for that?
  7. I usually ask them to give me a deadline, when will they be able to revert. When time's up, I expect a call. Some called to tell me it's ready! Come down anytime soon. Some bothered to call up to tell me it will be slightly delayed. Some ... don't bother, don't care, no sight, no sound. Next, you shortlist the few who can be punctual with their promises.
  8. I think it could the same one that I was eyeing, Samsung WA95 Top load model. But mine's WA95UP, it's the silver/grey one with silver nano. There's another blue/light grey model I think, could be the one you looking at. Anyway, I changed to a front load at the 11th hr, didn't get this. The retail price was $549+$30 at Harvey Norman (Free 1+4 years extended warranty), comes with free DVD player (self collect). The agent shop offered $498 free delivery with dvd player but only 1 year warranty.. Since the price you got was $499, you might get $450 from agent shops?
  9. I've bought several brands before. Philips, Osram and Megaman - all okay .. Powerpac - this one's weird, it works on certain appliances only, the E14 ones. I tried it at the shop and it works, but doesn't work on my IKEA lamps. Philips work on my IKEA lamps.
  10. I did, it's just a partition, one piece there.
  11. How come need to top up? For mine, it's written as $XXX for all painting, with ICI/Nippon paint, but type of paint wasn't mentioned, so I conveniently chose odourless, medifresh and easy wash.
  12. Help~ I made this silly mistake of buying a sink with an attached removal dustbin, with the initial impression that it would be more convenient to throw some little rubbish. No doubt, it served that function that I wanted all right .. but I didn't foresee this. Water leaks thru that gap below that dustbin and it goes into my cabinet below the sink area .. Anyone had some similar encounter with a good solution to it?
  13. The glass backing for kitchen is usually tempered glass, made to withstand the heat... I don't know if there are tempered mirrors, will crack if too hot..
  14. Logically should be after ... In case they accidentally (can't be avoided) paint over your lamps as well..
  15. This is what I was talking about earlier. Check with your ID how the dimension of the wardrobe is calculated, I've been to 5 different IDs and 3 of them calculate in the rip off manner.
  16. I wanted white initially, but changed it to silver instead. Thinking that white will turn yellowish or get dirty easily. Quite satisfied with silver/glossy grey.
  17. I personally think any other carpentry is a ripoff.. Other than kitchen which I don't really have a choice (Cabinets - with granite top $7000) , I quite regret what I've made for my study room (bookshelves and tv console $1080) my living room (TV console $960 - just one simple rack with 2 drawers), my living room (TV feature wall - $1680 - just to hide some wires??) I could well be paying 1/2 of what I paid for if I were to get something similar ready made from some furniture store. Did you mention L shaped wardrobe? It's is calculated in a strange manner ... the corner was calculated twice. My calculation was 9 feet, but ID's calculation was 13 feet. ($3000+) In the end I drop the L shaped idea and stuck to a plain 7 feet ($1800). Quite a few things are optional, you have to decide for yourself if you want to pay that kind of amount for carpentry.. Perhaps the only consolation is that .. you are getting plywood instead of MDF board or chipboard (if you buy cheap from some shop_
  18. I'm using RH-90CD, at my time of purchase, RH998C wasn't available. The noise is acceptable still.. Actually the salesman is quite frank, suction stronger definitely louder... Else he can just entertain you and say it's newer technology, better suction and softer! You would never find out anyway unless you experienced using both.
  19. I would encourage you to do a print screen of the website with the dimensions (hope they haven't change it yet), then submit your encounter to www.stomp.com.sg.. Stomp will in turn contact Vhive on your behalf, you might or might not get a refund or exchange, but at least you let people know what kind of company they are if they refused to when it's clearly their mistake for the misleading dimensions on the internet.
  20. I did up those 3D drawings long ago when I planned for the renovation, drew those blunders back then to email to my ID. So now just gather the necessary pictures to group into one picture, within 10 mins.
  21. Hybrids are even worse .. In time, the color will differ and you can tell which is the leather and which is the PVC.. The PCV will start tearing at the seams also.. I would still stick to full leather sofas, else get fabric. But not half leather, PU leather and some other man made leather.
  22. I wanted a piece of frameless shower screen sitting perpenticular against the wall for my bathroom, just like yours. I checked with my ID if that feasible and if it will vibrate since the only 2 holding areas are the frames on the wall and shower kerb. If it will, I will just drop the idea and stick to shower curtains instead. I can do without a $500 piece of glass just to block water. I confirmed that a couple of times because I was quite convinced that it will vibrate because it's frameless just resting there. But she assured me that it will be fine, and it did turn out ok. Minimal shaking, I was quite impressed. BUT.. it overshot out of my shower kerb by almost 1cm. (Some pictures might be easier to express this ... later ) So I made a comment about that, she immediately summoned down the glass people and questioned them about it. And they changed it... This time round, it's just nice, maybe. BUT the whole piece of glass vibrated for quite a while before it stops. It's quite unlike the worksmanship before. Just like what you had in the picture, it wasn't rested fully all the way inside the groove of the metal piece. They insisted that it's the standard practice to allow for expansion (and earthquake). If it's pushed all the way in, when there's earthquake, the whole piece will shatter! But why wasn't that an issue the first time round? The glass was pushed ALL THE WAY in. Does it mean when they cut it too big, they can shove it in all the way and you don't need for expansion, but then whey cut it too small, they align it to the shower kerb, but don't bother about the shakiness? I have the entire area for them to measure and they still get it wrong? The installers are most rude and uncouth, it was most unfortunate that I had to deal with them and shout at them personally over some lack of personal upbringing issues. I told my ID if that cannot be resolved, they can remove that item from the bill and take the glass back, I will stick to shower curtains. Picture Story. In the end, it was settled, they did up this stainless steel frame for free, though I suspect my ID might have paid from her own pocket for it. She was quite pissed with them too, the glass company even dare suggest to her that they pay 1/2 each to "stable the issue" even though it's their own worksmanship problem. By the way, when you have the opportunity, check if the company who did your glass is from A PLUS glass.
  23. I was in the exact same situation. Does your shower screen vibrate/shake a lot if you bang on it accidentally?
  24. A PLUS GLASS????? The mere mention of this company makes my blood boil!!!! I had to take leave 3 or 4 times to get them to do my shower screen properly! My ID wasn't quite able to handle them, and I had to call them up personally. I told my ID, if that is not fixed, I'm not paying for that. they can remove it and bring it back. I won't pay $500 for a piece of shaking glass, might as well settle for 3 shower curtains? They kept insisting that it's the way it's done and every household also like that, the whole bloody shower screen was shaky and wobbly yet they still insist that it's like that. They could even get the dimensions wrong when the whole shower kerb is there for them to measure. Their workers also have this idiotic habit of sitting on the toilet bowl when the cover is down, you should see how unhappy they were when I told them off TWICE for that. Which moron uses the toilet bowl as a chair at home with the cover down??? They also treat your toilet like some coffee shop toilet, simply barge in, close door and start using. I'm fine with workers using my toilet, but at least have the basic courtesy to ask. Goodness, the only part which I HATE about my entire renovation is having to deal with those idiots from A PLUS GLASS myself!
  25. I customised it, price can range from $120 to $180 depending on the size of the rack..
