Hahah, I was just about to caution you on the number of complains and comments found in this forum ... Seems like you found it.
-
Hahahah, it's definitely a "want" and not a "need". You have to decide for yourself, where it can fit in your house and what purpose it serves or what difference it makes for you. Alternatively, a few candle holders with candles from IKEA will create a similar effect too.

ckoonyin, it's selling at Carrefour for $69, last checked 2 days ago. Earlier, it came as a package, $99 for that set and they bundled with a motion censor led light, and 8 batteries. I wanted to get that motion censor light. haha. It was selling at $16.90 for 1 day, I didn't buy because there was a long queue, price went back up to $19.90 the next day. -_-

The price has dropped to $69 in some places for the set of 3 with charger. There's another individual candle with square glass, can't remember how much it cost, but it looks weird with the word "Philips" printed on the glasss..

That is quite high handed ... What if she wanted to add a $2000 item? $1200 discount? -

Resale Flat Buyers, Do U Remove Your Window Grilles?
lawry replied to yokine9a's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
I changed all my windows, those not facing the corridor, all no grills. Once you put up the curtains and all, can't really tell the difference anymore when you gotten used to it. -
I understand that only the new flats come with concealed wires. But I didn't see any exposed wires or wire casing at my friend's 20 year old resale flat, even aircon ducts, trunkings and water piping. They were all intelligently concealed, probably done (by left) by drilling holes in the walls, or (by right), attach another layer of wall to hide the wires and trunkings behind. Whichever it is, I've seen more than 1 resale flat with concealed wiring.

I've been quite upset about my renovation. (Yes, I want to start a blog to say my piece soon) Learning from friends who came over for housewarming, reading from this forum is making it worse. My renovation was completed a few months ago, Is concealed wiring something extra that you have to pay for? I find it quite ridiculous that I paid few hundreds for cornices on the ceilings and yet I see wire casings on the wall leading to the switches, which is anything but FLAT ... I should really start a blog to let people know what they can be expecting from a renovation, what are the options, what is the standard, what's nice, what's not, what's bad ...

Hmm, that would depend on the company you engage, it's reasonable for people to change their mind, remove something, add something. There's hardly a reason for them to behave that way, besides, when you present all your evidence of cutting corners here, they will be the ones who lose out. -
People usually steal the brass incense urns and sell for money. Unless you get something of a cheaper material to replace it, else the thief will strike again. (Like porcelain or something?) And your HB is right, reporting to the police/tc is useless in this case, I mean what can they do? Station someone at the opposite block and monitor? You might be better off with a CCTV, when the thief strikes, rush out of the house, chase after him with a baseball bat.

H4Happy, how come your switches are so flat and flushed with the surface? Was it fixed onto a hollow board?

I did that, took out some items. Amount is deducted from total sum. What kind of comments you need? -
I'd pass on IKEA ... Small units are fine. But their kind of wood (chipboard) for a wet environment like Kitchen? I guess not.

It's easier if the house is empty, as in you have not move in yet. I've painted both type of houses before. Paint will cost $100 to $200, depending on type and quantity, roller brush is a must.
-
Ermm. that's graphic generated, not a photo. I'm not sure if that sofa exists in real life.
-
Ya .. you can still move in, just without the sofa?

I love those lines on the kitchen laminates. Does your sink come with an attached dustbin? Mine too .. There might be some issues in future .. When you start using it.

Wow, this agent is circumventing ERA and getting the full commission + 7% GST! He is not even engaged by you, and you are representing yourself, he shouldn't be offering his services to you by default and expecting to collect money for that. When we pay the $XXXX.XX commission to ERA, the agent involved will only get a certain percentage of that. Now, he's trying to collect the money without ERA's knowledge. You will need to sign a form from ERA saying that you want this guy to represent you as their agent before he is allowed to represent you. If he threatens you or turns nasty, do feel free to report such a practice to ERA. You are not obliged to even pay him a cent without that initial letter of appointment.

What can I say? You are GOOD! That's brilliant! I'm adding that to my brains for future use. If there should be a website on dealing with despicable contractors, this must be in. Obviously they had your selected fabric stocks for your bedframe, probably under quoted you a little and they tried to pull a fast one by suggesting some "more expensive" alternative. Your response must have stunned the shate out of them. hahahah.

The grand excuse, no spare tiles for them to replace? For that ridiculous screw up, they might as well replace the entire wall of toilet tiles for you? You should really ask for a good discount for that if they are just gonna "patch up properly." Talking about them makes my blood boil, having to think about my own experience. Just had my shower and I saw my grossly misaligned slanted hook again! Look down and I see gray+white+black grouting on the same black tiles, that's another story. I had dark gray tiles, using BLACK grouting, looking almost seamless. After chemical wash, bits of it came off, so they patched it back ... using WHITE or LIGHT GREY grouting. Can anyone tell me why.. On the same flooring, certain patches were black, some were white and some mixed ... Called them up to rectify and they insisted that the grouting box says black and it should be black. Great ... I'm hallucinating then. Anyway, they scrapped off all the white grouting and patched it up with black this time, but for some reason, it's still whitish at certain areas for some reason..

Get them to replace the tiles! Yes, one piece of my tile was removed and replaced for something similar. Then towards the end of it, another screwed up. The holes for my bathroom hooks were misaligned! For goodness sake, one up one down??? That was one little annoyance for my renovation, I get to see it every morning and get reminded of it.
