Thanx agin Suyun. Someone told me while solid wood furniture is dearer, but might be worth it coz you can bring it along to your next property. I'll check out the shop at Upp S'goon Rd.
-
Thanx Suyun. Yes, I've read their blogs too, very informative. BTW, seems like you hv scouted around a lot for your stuff, did you come across anyone who customise solid wood furniture?
-
Thanx Suyun. Yes, I recall you mentioned that only the company called Rxxx was confident enought to drill thru the marble. Your blog has lots of contacts, price reference and ideas...which is great for me starting to go thru the same sourcing activity. Thanx again!

Suyun Good taste in tiles selection. I just selected my tiles last weekend, though I haven't even confirmed I'm using this contractor of mine! But he's my regular contractor, and is almost like a friend. I even brought him along when I view the house a second time (before I commit)! Now I think I want to get a few quotes just to make sure I don't get ripped off...just fearful of being "chop carrot." Anyway, whilst going thru your t-blog, I noticed you employed pest control, and you were even willing to let them drill on your marble floor. I'm also re-using my marble floor for living and dining areas, seems like a complete waste to hack it away and lay homo tiles. Did the drilling cause any damage, or was the holes obvious after patching? I imagine the holes are only drilled along the perimeter, and most of it would be covered by furniture or cabinets?

you guest toilet wall tiles looks like marble...nice!

Thanx for your advice Jumbopanther. That's what I thought I shld do...get a couple of comparative quote. Otherwise the thought of being ripped off will longer. Get some advice from you about eletricals...did you buy your lightings, fans etc. from Singapore, of you tried to get cheaper alternatives from JB. I understand the savings can be substantial. Problem is, my regular contractors says the lightings/fans are not PSB certified. So I don't know if there will be further complication down the road. Suay suay the lighting cause a fire...will the insurance be void coz it's not PSB certified? Sorry...sounds very kiasu...but it's not worth the risk I feel. Thanx in advance. -
Hi Wonderful How has your search been? Hope it's all system go.

Hi Jumbopanther Great stuff you put in your t-blog, massive amount of info, and thanx for sharing. Just checking...you didn't employ an ID, did you? Was it tough making all the creative/aesthetics decisions? I have a regular contract that I trust, he has done my mom's flat and my current flat. I have automatically asked him to do the renovation for my new house, but somehow I feel I don't know what I'm missing if I do not shop around. Then again, shopping around takes time and you also may not end up with the best (or even a good one). Cheers and looking forward to your reply. -
Hi Minerat Been reading your t-blog. Congrats on your completion of your rono journey. I'm a newbie here, and i'm getting ideas for mine. Is that vanity top wood? Sorry, can't really see properly from the lighting. If it's wood, will it deteriorate over time? I'm thinking of putting a basin on top of a nice wooden cabinet, that's why I'm asking. Cheers.
