  1. Slowly adjust lor..what about your kitchen layout for the microwave ? The area U took pic should have some space to hold the microwave or ricecooker .
  2. I will think the sofa colour is matching with the console..fabric after some time will stink and have stains coz our legs sweat and the fabric absorbs it unless u wear long pants everyday and on the aircon 24hrs. In addition, a light coloured sofa will make the living room brighter in the day unless U wanna turn on your ceiling lights throughout the day. I support your wife's sofa choice, as watching TV with a comfy sofa is so shioK afterall a house is about comfort. Although gel well is impt but i will quote u, nice shoes are not comfy and comfy shoes are not nice. high heels vs sport shoes On the kitchen area, cannot expect island to be clean and sleek all the time, otherwise the use of island only limit to food only. Island can be use to prepare food mah..For microwave oven, if u do not need to use it often then can forget it. I will suggest KIV on selling the sofa, who knows it might slowly grow on you.
  3. I had viewed several units with the same layout as ours and the area outside the study room is quite dark during day time. That area will be ideal for your home-office. An idea to share with you..if u want your living room to look bigger, can consider hack half of the wall horizontally then add on glass wall and door all the way to the ceiling. This allow more natural light to your living room and it also look more roomy and classy. Blinds can also be installed when you require more privacy. In addition, you may also consider level up your balcony to have a bigger living room since the study room will be there.
  4. I had the exact layout with yours. Mine is at CCK. I removed the study room and I had a huge living room and the space is a luxury compared to BTO nowadays. The downside of the house are the 2 toilets..kinda eat away precious space. My reno cost about 55K in total. Everything also change, from floor to ceiling.
  5. Perhaps U like to consider choosing maroon for kitchen cabinets coz my sis had this colour and it made the kitchen very dark during the day where we dont turn on the lights. She kinda regret not choosing lighter colours.
  6. Really jumbo house ! Esp having 3 toilets sia..
  7. Hihi Where do you get the DIY decal for your sliding door ?
  8. Wah..swee leh..cant wait to see the installers put up the granite top! Do u have rubbish chute in the kitchen or u have to bring the rubbish out of the house ?
  9. Nice sia ! I like the in-line laying of tiles for the living room and kitchen.
  10. Haha. So now Reno till what stage oredi ?
  11. Good to hear everything is going smoothly. Do u supervise the Reno daily ?
  12. I am still contemplating on whether should I go for PD door or the traditional one piece door..it seems v troublesome to operate the PD door..imagine u are urgent and had to go thru the push-slide motion and then turn knob to lock the door.
  13. Congrats on your new home ! I also had the same layout as yours but still waiting for the 2nd appointment with HDB.

    Pd Door

Hello people, Just bought a resale 5(I) unit and reno is to take place in a few months time. My ID recommend me to install PD door for both toilets instead of those traditional PVC casement door (one piece) as it saves space and more trendy. Any forummers here can share their experience with PD door ? Is it durable, lasting and convenient to use ? Personally I find it troublesome to slide, push, then push and slide back and then lock it.
