Who says platform bed is not good? The japanese (among other culture) have been sleeping for so many century already. It is not advisable to sleep on the bed on the floor because you may get the chill during the night.

Wat abt ur current house? If they can sleep on the floor with mattress, problem solved.

I have encounter with it 2 times. 1. Old house, throw away the bedframe 2. New house, only affected in 1 room, took the mattress out to sun (kena stolen), so new mattress. Both cases, no pest control, so i'm kinda lucky.
