i'm not too sure on the exact shop names too.. but jus b extra careful when shopping loh.. i guess.. gotta make sure the shop is really giving u big n reliable brands like philips or osram.. i dun trust any other brands.. n hv to walk n ask a lot to know the market price for this 2 brands..

Hi Zlia, for my case.. my ID quickly asked his men to lay the SCV cables & electric cables on the floor first.. as the intended tv feature walls are on the other side of wat HDB has done for us.. so when the cement screed can shunbian hide the cables underneath.. it should b the way to do it if u r shifting any electrical points or SCV points.. as for the leveling.. or how high should the screeding be.. contractor did called me to get my ID's contact to directly liaise with him..

hahaa.. jazznpop.. sure.. if (ang mo) new yr hv fireworks on mt faber (that 2 towers).. u can come up to my unit!! haha.. my sofa will b facing right to the 2 towers.. as for the aircon.. i only hv a sys3 for the 3 bedrooms.. living room no need la.. my place should b windy enough.. sometimes might even hv to close the windows a bit.. we noticed it is not windy at night only.. n tats when it's time to bed.. so aircon in bedrooms jus nice.. day time is super windy on normal days.. n expect a mini typhoon when outside is storming.. hahahahaha... but we'll be getting a tower fan to standby too..

oh! thanks for informing!! no wonder last night i noticed the contractors frm the 中国建筑 "suddenly" added a door at a corner on 2nd level of BLK26D somewhere near to the carpark entrance.. once i came out from the carpark would see the door.. n they seemed to be locking up all the piles of tiles in there... n i tink last week... my mom spotted a man urinating at the carpark level 1 somewhere behind the shops.. so warn all ladies mux b extra careful when gg on site...

wow! happy, ur glass hob used for 10yrs already n still as gd as new! the glass is really really up to its name "toughened glass"... wow! read somewhere in this forum... (some other brand's glass hob) cracked when only boiling water for 20min... n compare with ur 10yrs of usage... amazing! i guess ellane is really a gd n reliable brand!

haha.. cindy.. ya i tot of tat con for cove lights as well.. tat was the main concern when ID proposed cove lights to me.. then he proposed ways to counter tat.. which he'd do acrylic panel on it's side.. so "small animals" may find it harder to make my cove light become their playground..

mm.. i hv no idea leh.. i dun hv much downlights.. cos hving cove light instead... n 2 downlight over the dining space.. 1 downlight at foyer.. 2 downlight at passageway..

er.. all the gate is the same when nothing done on it by contractor.. so if u observe carefully the lowest row of circles r not circles for mine anymore.. jus compare with the next door unit and u'll notice it.. but at 1 glance w/o me telling it has been trimmed off.. is not tat noticable.. the black color is the part i cannot get over.. have already told Lance to patch up the color for me.. i prefer my gate in rustic look.. behind the gate.. no kerb ah.. will b the wooden door liao loh.. but now they took my door off.. tink cos for the convenience of the tiler uncle to carry out his works.. Lance told me white grout line is "比较吃" (more secure).. for colored grout not as 耐 as the white 1.. i called my dad (who also hv knowledge in this area) to verify.. my dad also told me to get white.. .. so .. jus take their advise la..

hi monkeybone! thanks for the tips! but hor.. both bf n my mama (ok incl myself).. believe tat the level should be because the tilings level hv to match the cement screeding in rooms.. but missed a little judgement frm the kitchen tiles level ... but we also dun want to relay the tiles la.. the tiles really not bad leh.. i mean the gaps n quite smooth.. so no point redo la.. jus called Lance to tell the tiler uncle to tink of ways to rectify it loh.. either make a small slope or make it rounder n lesser opportunity to trip over.. my concern is safety la..

ya.. s i said.. proud of the tiling works.. cos fri nite did a small scale measurement of the gap in between tiles.. all r very consistantly 1mm gap only.. wow.. by sunday afternoon.. the grout lines all filled up already.. may b done on sat .. anyway.. then realised the "gap" no long consistantly at 1mm le.. some thicker n some remain as thin as 1mm.. then i called Lance, to ask.. he said it is normal.. cos the "over-flowed" part will b washed off during the acid wash.. but not possible to "solve" tis 100%.. jus "most of it".. hopefully after acid wash it will not look so bad.. the kitchen cabinet base hv some tiles on it liao.. haha..

Lance told me he fixed ur problem le.. i hope everything is fine now.. me.. very stress with my renov outcome.. hehe.. more pics coming up soon.. hongss, i took pics of it.. i tink cos partly i feel v proud to hv the 1st home of our own.. n feel proud of the gd tiling works Lance's tiler did.. if anything not very gd.. will take it as a note to others for sharing loh.. for me cos hv vehicle.. gg down the unit during lunch is v convenient n fast.. but i tink even if i do not hv own vehicle, will still take my best speed to go down every evening after work.. bring along with a torch n camera.. flashes frm the camera can help me see the works.. at home can slowly look at it.. at the same time share it here loh..

but the tiles on the foyer r slightly higher than the kitchen tiles.. is this done for a reason? jus now asked Lance abt my grout line color.. he said wil b white.. n i forgot to mention about this higher level ting tat i noticed.. anyway... the kitchen cabinet base... started working on it liao

today after work went up to take a look at the progress.. SURPRISE! the gate was already trimmed!! Lance had told me they need to trim both gate & door.. but as i saw others doing tiling at foyer also no need to trim.. so was tinking to ask him whether is it really necessary to trim the gate.. but his guys r definitely faster than me.. haha.. already DONE before i ask.. ok.. nvm.. let's see the work.. but they painted black for me.. look v patchy.. n ugly.. Lance said will touch up for me.. hope he will do a good touch up.. other than the paint color... actually no complaint la.. actually not really obvious that the gate been trimmed.. unless observe closely and compare with the next door's gate.. so very ok with me..

hi pert! how's ur renov? i've heard of tis prob too.. but wat i heard was not abt the max glass length.. wat i heard was.. the long glass can't fit into the lift n therefore problem with delivering up to the home.. n thus end up in 2 pieces so y there's the joining gap.. but i hv seen v good workmanship with the joining very nicely done.. thin n neat.. but no matter how good is the workmanship.... how thin the joining to be.. sure it is still obvious de... can't b help.. erm.. but may b after u moved in.. your kitchen stuffs may eventually hide the joining liao.. !!
