starhub sucks! i've been trying to get internet connection in my place.. but to no avail.. last nite called n finally get someone picked up my call at their technical support line.. asked me to test connection at bedroom n then living room.. then check the tv channel to tune in to the wat 473-something or watever.. i can't really get a clear pic on tat channel.. n then tat "technical support service" told me that she checked and confirmed the signal is not activated yet for my block.. asked me to pay $32+ to get the technician to come down n activate for me.. n then i said y mus i pay for that? she said was the travelling fee.. deep in my heart was thinking.. 32+ is enuff for my vehicle to last 4 working days (to n fro JM - Yio Chu Kang + lunch time trips).. they take taxi round sg then reach my place to activate for me? anyway.. after some questioning.. the gal once again asked me to hold the line n she'd asked n confirm for me once again.. so i did.. n the 2nd reply was.. the signal for the block has activated but not individually activated unit to unit.. it was only done to those available units where ppl moved in n when they knock on the door someone is at home.. i was like.. is starhub expecting HDB giving out keys to all units on the same day n expecting all units to move in on the same day n also expecting all not working to wait for them to come? then i ask her.. how can starhub ask me to pay for something which i'm not even informed of? i don even know there is technician coming on which day what time to activate the signal.. n worst is i don even know there is such a need to activate unit by unit.. how can starhub anyhow jus charge me as n when to their liking? then tat gal again.. go ask for the 3rd time n come back with another lame excuse.. "actually it is the HDB technician hvn't activate the line for ur unit.. at our side we will not be able to know when will HDB gg to activate for u.. probably the technician will knock on door to door basis.. at the moment wat i can do for u is to help u suspend the service for a max of 2mths.. but u hv to contact us again once HDB activated the signal for u.. blah blah blah" ... then i asked her.. how do i know anybody is gg to so-called activate tis ting unit by unit.. if they knock door to door.. which means i no need to work la? i muz b at home to wait lah? end up the issue will not be able to solve as well wat.. then does it mean i hv to pay tat $32 to ask ur guys to come? then tat gal said.. u hv to wait for HDB to activate for u.. by then u can contact us again to activate the service for u loh.. i was very confused n angry.. dunno wat to say or ask liao.. jus hang up.. i feel starhub is no diff to daylight robbery.. force u to pay n pay.. n nothing been solved or helped at all...

tis is not happening only in ur place.. back then the same thing happened in my hse too, during the reno period.. i suspected a few scenerios.. but then there was nothing for them to steal.. anyway jus adv.. i let it be n time passed.. my reno done.. everything seems ok.. 那我也不管了.. now thinking back.. actually quite dangerous hor.. it could mean anybody could jus enter my hse like tat.. eeeekk!

binzz, wat do u mean by "dirty"? is it start yellowing? or... ?? cos as far as i know.. all these grout line.. will turn yellow or grey or even moldy black.. over time.. is like tat.. the more u mop.. the faster it changes in color.. it will not stay white forever.. but i tink there r prdts to "bleach" grouting... MACE cleaned his hse stained grouting by a metal brush.. can look into his t-blog for it..

happy new yr everybody! wasn't able to online over the holiday.. at home no connection yet.. called starhub but they claimed that my blk already activated the line.. sucks man! hv yet to call up the technical guys thou.. gotta try 2nite n call again may b.. happy, my stove area under cabinet also felt the heat frm cooking.. mama was stewing on slow fire for hours.. n she felt the heat.. she kept the cabinet door open loh.. but when i do slight heat up of food then will not get tis prob.. i tink only long hours of cooking then will feel the impact.. but i tink shld b ok bah..

mace, glad to know ur wife's eyes r ok, no prob le.. take care! apple, i tink my next-door neighbour hv similar doors at our new place! they hv tis kind (not so detailed thou) for all their internal doors including the kitchen door!! the next time i c them ard.. try to ask it for u..

hahaha.. no no no .. no guilty cat.. cos really nice recomm by u.. if not i'd hv spending like at least >1.6k instead of the 1.3k... altogether i got 3 quotes.. sharon able to give me cheaper quote for double curve tracks in living n normal double straight track in study n mama's room w/ both day n night curtain.. while the other 2 charging at least few hundred more.. w/o double tracks (straight nor curved) in both living n study.. mama's rm only night curtain.. so if $ concerned.. sharon is the best i got.. so.. thank u! oh.. n the curtains (the correct parts) r real nice.. may b i shld take fotos of them too..

haha.. can try.. me jus got mine frm them.. was recomm by Greycat.. my reviews: 1) is it really cheaper than most places.. but i got mine comparing to 3 quotes only they r the cheapest.. shld b ard 1.3k if i'm not wrong (cos i changed something n hvn't give her money yet.. haha ) 2) clean job.. almost no dust falling when they drill n install the tracks.. cos vacuum at the same time 3) but sharon hardly pick up my calls.. may b now CNY their most busy time.. 4) they came install curtain tracks n hook on wall in the room where i actually wanted to hv roller blind.. in the end.. cos the hook already drilled onto the wall.. i dun wanna the hole there n i gotta take the trouble to fill back the hole n paint the wall again.. so i jus follow the mistake.. get them to make day curtain for me there.. luckily it turned out nice as well.. 5) my living room window edge has a stupid beam.. i wanted my curtain hang on ceiling rather than hang frm the beam.. cos not so pretty n doen't look so 大方 IMHO to hang it frm the beam (cos too short).. they knew it n actually installed the tracks correctly on the ceiling.. but when the curtains came.. every1 got a shock.. the day curtain was measured n made to be hang under the beam.. it was so short.. like wearing a mini-skirt.. but told them wat is correct n they took back tat "mini-skirt" said will ask boss to call me back.. but i still hvn't receive any call yet.. mm... all in all.. when talking to sharon.. it is nice.. cos she'd make a lot of recomms on wat fabric to choose in order to save cost in the best way.. may b the bad experience i had simply cos i suay kana tis CNY peak period.. actually i'm not really unhappy with them yet.. i feel may b is still quite understandable bah.. hopefully after CNY.. i get wat i shld get..

yup.. i got the samsung free dvd player as well.. it was the gift frm my samsung fridge.. but then they said no stock.. gave me a waiting list ref no. .... for this.. i forgot to call if the stock has arrived yet.. sigh.. looks like i'm not the only 1 waiting..

haha.. i dun even hv fan in the living room.. the wind blowing in frm the kitchen is cold n strong enough.. i actually wearing socks at home.. hahaha.. only in bedroom cos no window facing the north.. no direct wind n gotta use fan to circulate the air.. if i open my mbr aircon ledge window.. would hv the same strong cold wind as frm the kitchen side.. but usually i closed it la.. cos feel "dirty" since all the compressors unit there..

haha.. i hv a total different view.. totally opps.. i felt tiring n depressed everytime i do cleaning up.. 100% exhuasted.. i prefer small room.. mayb still not used to it.. imagine.. for the pass 30yrs.. i've been living in area less than 30sqm! hahaha.. nw almost 3x times bigger..

happy, where ur neighbor's unit facing? for mine.. it is superbly freezing cold in the morning.. my bf usually don use blanket while sleeping even in aircon room.. but at the new place.. we fight for the blanket in the morning! n we didn't on air con as well.. only on the fan (pointing upwards not blowing at us) for circulating the air only..
