I ordered via 65daigou. Sea shipment took about 2 weeks to arrive, economy air shipment about 5-7 days. But sometimes the seller takes a longer time to reach china warehouse. We also ordered some chairs via Amcon, still don't have the ETA date yet. U plan to buy stuff from Taobao?

ID inform me that another group of carpenter will come for site measurements next week. We have also decide to purchase TV console and coffee table instead of customise as the design that we wanted will have to top-up quite a lot on top of our quote. Looking forward to coming week and counting down to ID handover back the house..

After 52 days of renovation... No much progress this week. Carpenter keep changing and postpone on-site measurement date, ID and I wasted three days on-site - 1st on-site, ID propose on-site discussion so that we can have some time to consider on some ergonomic design and don't waste carpenter precious time. - 2nd on-site To discuss with carpenter, but he say ytd nite worked on a commercial project till too late, today need to sleep. Request chance to the next day. Wahlau eh.. Waste my time, ok never mind. I wait for another day since ID told me his workmanship is REALLY good. - 3rd on-siteFinally the carpenter came to site-measurement and discussion.. BUT now carpenter told us our carpentry work too many and he need min ONE month to finish the job as he got many works on hand and no enough worker. Really time waste!! No choice, told ID to change carpenter.. Plastering work completed. Measurement of glass door and railing done, installation of glass door this week. Painting will be doing this week too. Some Taobao's purchase... 16" clock and 12" clock. Quality are good. Aluminum towel racks. Good quality and packaging too. Balcony light. Initially thought is made of acrylic material, but its not. It make of sheet metal, quite heavy. Dining lamp. Saw this in SG selling $899 net. We are getting at approx. 60% lower from Taobao.

Hi, any bro or sis have contacts for door supplier who is able to change the door knob to lever type? I wanted to change my old door knob to handle type and have purchase the lever type. But my contractor says that his door supplier may not have the capability to replace the lever because need to open the slot in the door (for the mechanism - in blue colour) and door frame. Wondering is it so difficult to replace for door supplier? Thanx in advance.

Hmm.. Think will add in the damping layer ba.. I will take note of it during installation. I saw some HDB parquet workmanship very rough. HDB cut down the construction time of new flats but end many complains on new flats workmanship. I also heard from my my ID, recent new flats with conceal pipes and electrical wires, many times the contractors drilled onto the pipes.. Ha..ha.. My previous flat at Strathmore which I bought direct from HDB through SERS also like that. The tiles workmanship really CMI and some hollow tiles. The household shelter couldn't close properly as the alignment is out.

That's good! So u can move-in in early Apr le.. Ha..ha.. My ID also once a tiler. He told me, will personally do the pebble wash for our small foyer. Well.. Let's see how his workmanship ba.. We are also choosing Kronotex laminate. Agreed with typhoonz, Kronotex from Germany and price is more affordable.. By the way, do u have a joining cap (a plastic strips approx 2-3mm thick) at the entrance? Kronotex salesperson told us, that is for expansion. But we are thinking of not having it to look more grand and nicer. HDB parquet will sunk? Thought parquet is glued onto the floor? That's a bad workmanship wor.

Roof was done by previous owner. We only use partition to over up the tiles. Think the roof is approx 3m from balcony. Hope it helps!

My ID told me that the price will increase as they got difficulties to get good and skilful worker (especially tiler & carpenters) at a reasonable price. Even price goes up for demolition work!

Mine schedule to handover back to us in mid Apr. looking forward to more photos when furniture is in place.

spikedoll, sorry for the delay.. After 47 days of renovation... Partition and false ceiling are done, tomorrow ID will asked them to come touch up some areas. This week will be painting, measuring of carpentry work, laminate flooring and glass work. * old photo We will be having a vanity (drawn red) and the hand spray is too near the vanity. Understand its a norm for plumber to locate the hand spray point at the right side of the toilet bowl. ID will ask plumber to relocate to the left, so that easy to take the hand spray and vanity will not get wet easily. Notice the hole at the ceiling area. It is for opening of the fan coil panel during maintenance. After checking with Hong Tar the height of the fan coil and minimum distance required, we can seal of the hole so that it looks nicer. Both bedrooms with false ceiling and cove light. Boxed-up in master toilet. aircon trunking and piping are been boxed-up. Our 1st Taobao order. Philips downlight. Quality is good, but have not tested the light. We are expecting more delivery coming in this week and next week.

Hi spikedoll, ur ID able to hand-over the unit on time? Wow! U got a nice parquet flooring. How I wish we can have parquet flooring, but over our budget leh.. Ha..Ha..we also choose to have "hole in the wall" at toilet area so that no need to buy accessories (which tends to corrode or stain over a period of time) and it looks neater like hotel style.

For me, I am making use of the boxed-up to cover most piping & aircon trunking. I ask plumber to minimise the joints that I wanted to box-up. I also personally check the joints for any leakage before proceed with the box-up.
