If I get a router and place it in master bedroom, then can my level two be wireless access?

Updates...Err.. Hmm... same as 28th Mar... ID told us plumber and aluminum grills sub-con will up on Sat (which is yesterday), and yesterday I specially come up to take a look to ensure that Mr plumber don't leave leaking union or taps UNAWARE... But... neither plumber nor aluminum grills sub-con were there yesterday... ID told me tomorrow plumber and aluminum grills sub-con will come. Anyway... ID told us 10th Apr can handover to us... Counting down... Today I brought the lightings for the electrician to install this week... Hmm...hope this week I can see my lights are up then I can post review of the lights which I bought from Taobao..

Hi ongcs, would like to seek some advice from u. Paiseh if it sound stupid as wifey and I have zero knowledge to this home network. We hope to have wireless access in our EM which is currently undergo renovation. We intend to use the (Singtel - MIO white colour modem) and place it at level one living area (inside TV console). During the rewiring of electrical points, ID also ask electrical to lay cat6 cables (not sure is it call LAN point) in our master bedroom and also the bedroom opposite the maste bedroom. Do I need to buy another router so that our level two can have wireless access? Understand that(Singtel - MIO white colour modem) also has a built-in router, correct? Any things to take note so that to ensure better signal? Thanx in advance.

After 64 days of renovation... Finally, can see our carpentry work le. Notice all internal is grey colour? We pay extra to use polygon for the internal instead of white PVC. My wifey favourite, tiffany blue strips for the lower kitchen cabinet with tiffany blue glass backing (will be install later). Hope my wifey will love the end result.. Left side of the photo (dish rack cover) is the Hafele lift unit which I personally buy from Hafele and hand-carry to ID's supplier at Sungei Kadut. Initially wanted to use Blum system, but there's a height restriction (may hit the false ceiling). Common toilet, glass door is up. Notice the mini vanity? Master toilet, sliding door for shower area.. Wah...Free scratch resistance test by the sub-con... ID will get it replaced... That' the result of no protection... Really SPEECHLESS... Counting down to the handover date and hope no more SHOCKING THINGS along the way...

Today went up to do marking on the toilet accessories on every item so that our Mr plumber can install on Sat as told by ID. ID also tell me that the glass sub-con will install sliding door for level one toilet.. It's their miscommunication. Then.. ID told me that our Kronotex flooring have deep scratches due to no protection paper covering the laminated flooring. Wah Lau eh!! anyway, ID will call Kronotex person to get it replace.. Will update photos later when I m back home.. How bad is the damage of the clock? Able to claim from seller? Ha..ha.. At the moment more stress on the issue of my renovation.. Looking forward to 10th Apr, ID committed to handover the house back to us..

I have already inform ID, he say that Kronotex person will come to touch up later before handover. I know the gap is for expansion (which I read in their installation manual), but at least they should have solution to cover such big gap hor? My current house using Supreme, they extend the skirting closer to the edge of the door frame to cover the gap. Well.. Let's see how Kronotex person close up the gap ba.. Update... Today my toilet accessories from Poh Joo delivered to our house. Waiting for the plumber to install. Wei..wei.. Mr plumber, PLEASE be more careful and dun make further more mistake hor?? Today glass sub-con FINALLY came to install three toilets door.. Waited more than a week.. sigh.. but out of the three glass door, one suppose to be sliding door, two swing door, end up become all swing door. I told glass sub-con to verify with ID as this is not what I have communicate with ID. Kaoz! Lucky I was there to notice the swing door, if not, once the swing door is installed, extra work need to remove and some wall tiles will have replaced. Hmm.. Hope it's not MURPHY'S law again lor..

Wow! Ur master toilet looks like hotel toliet. Envy u, can have a big vanity in ur common toilet. Counting down to move-in to ur new place? Understand from my ID, he also asked the sub-con to weld a metal piece and mounted onto the ceiling before cover the false ceiling. This will hold the glass frame and door for the kitchen entrance.

Our airfreight is $330. If compare using sea freight can save bot 40%.. now the stuff are sitting in our place waiting to install.

We plan to move-in by 20 Apr. Our initial handover date given by ID is 31 Mar, now delay 10 days le.. Yes, regarding Taobao order, must plan early to cater for no stocks or delay. We airfreight the light worried that may delay ID's schedule to install light, but now.. light arrives le, our light installation only schedule early Apr. U see our problem? We try to ensure the items on time, not to delay schedule, end up schedule delay and we spending extra for airfreight. Huh? Ur Aircon contractor able to advice u when the stocks coming?

Wow! spikedoll, ur renovation is progressing well, congrats! Next week will be an excited week for u when the carpentry is up. Hmm.. I m still waiting for my glass work, carpentry, grills and main gate to be up. But glass work has been delay for a week liao, no news. Carpentry work only come for site-measurement after more than a week delay... We got no idea when the carpentry work will be ready. Gonna keep my finger cross to have the renovation complete and ID can handover back to us on 10th Apr.

Was told that glass door installation will come next week. Why? Why? Why keep delaying huh? Any bro or sis using Kronotex laminate flooring? Wondering how come the gap at the edge of the door frame so big (use black silicon to seal the gap nia)? Thought at least they will extend the skirting more to the frame to cover the gap? Have u encounter this problem and any solutions to this? Able to post some photo to show? Thanx in advance.

Hi penthouseLover, welcome and congrats on ur purchase. Think it's quite difficult to find many choice of homogeneous tiles below $3 psf.. Maybe its a form of marketing strategy for contractor or ID. So when u select the tiles that u like, end up u will need to top up the difference. For my case, we also top up the difference for our master toilet.

After 57 days of renovation... Finally after last week of not much activities, today finally saw the other carpenter come on-site measurement le.. But... why take sooooooooo long to come huh? Hmm... think outside business really too good and busy le. ID cannot even advice an estimated date when carpentry work can be ready wor... ID only can tell me will handover by 10 Apr latest. Well.. Looking forward to the handover date... Kronotex Laminate. Top up additional for selecting Kronotex (Made in Germany).. Notice the second level laminate is to the edge? No extra kerb to support the glass railing as the glass is sit inside the groove and wall. Initially wanted to do without the joining strips. But sales person keep emphasize its for heat expansion.. So bopian, better listen to expert lor... Just being curious, I ask the sales person... Why if level one do laminate, no joining strips required. No expansion issue on level one meh? Also similar big area mah... Master bedroom. Painting is done for whole house. Touch up will required after carpentry is up. Door is yet to switch the opening direction... Whole place still very messy, see the bins of paint lying around. Hmm... glass door installation still not here yet... Hope the glass work will up by this week.

True! Initially, we also worry bot the defective and damaged items. So our 1st batch, we try order a few items. I spend many nights read the review and shortlist the seller. So far the goods that we received all are very good quality. Price is slightly higher to some other seller. Yes. But it's good that u read the reviews of seller or ask those for the link who have ordered from Taobao. Hope it helps. Good luck!

Thanx jetlee724. We do false ceiling to cover the rock stone ceiling which previously the owner did. We do minor plastering to wall, not the whole house. Painting is $2.2K If u got time to search Taobao, we can find many stuff at a friction of SG price. Sigh.. Today call my ID to check on the development and ID told me that the carpenter will only come to take measurement on Thur. Not much things done since last week. I am looking forward to see more complete jobs and hope no more delays to the handover date. Keep my finger cross!!

For LED downlight, my saving is about 25% as I choose the seller with many good review. Their price is RMB$10 higher than other seller, but the finishing and packaging really good. I have not tested the light, so cannot comment on the light quality yet. Will post review when the lights are tested. If u don't mind other MIC LED light, the price can be much lower than Philips.. My dining light Philips Ledino, saving approx 60% Balcony & master toilet light, at least a 50% saving if we bought it locally. If u have enough time, go via sea shipment. Some items we go via economy air shipment, the freight charges + daigou's agent fee is more than the item price. Not only that.. Realise that many stools or chairs u seen in SG, especially IMM level 3, u able to find in Taobao. But u need time to find a good seller. The risk u gonna take is the quality of the goods since u can only see photos and read review nia.. I will post my review of the chairs that we have purchased via Amcon when it arrives.. The bar stool that we purchased from Taobao is RMB$150 (before freight, Gst, admin charges), we saw a similar one in SG, selling SGD$148.. I really must thanx those forummers here who have share their knowledge of ordering from Taobao and other website.
