my advice for fridges. The panasonic is cheaper because it has a drawer for a bottom freezer. Drawer types fit less than a pull open door. Also it gets a bit messy if u chuck in everything and have to hunt for your frozen stuff. My parent's place the panasonic is the previous generation but it's pull door opening. I initially was pretty big on bottom freezer types. But found all of them available are drawer opening. Hence going back to the conventional top freezer 2 door fridge.

Our 2nd purchase to use our manhattan card for this quarter: This is the brand we bought: http://www.airland.com/en/products_mattress.php?region=hk It's a long established HK brand (but not seahorse brand) so zero publicity compared to the usual American and european brands. Sold at IMM level 3, the distributor sells Lotus mattresses as well. Actually it's not the 1st time we bought this, cos the king size mattress in my room now is also from there. It costs $200 cheaper than the usual price during GSS (real pricing cos i'm buying it now cheaper than my 2011 non-GSS price) Kingsize + Bedframe is 1999 during GSS! I've been sleeping on this brand of mattresses for more than half of my life. And it's firm and good for a bad back (which I have). My wife is happy with it as well. From my experience from my previous super single which i used for 14 yrs, it doesn't sag at all (this only applies to the supreme 650 range which is the closest to my EOL model) Please consider this brand if u want something firm and good. Have no experience with the big brands like Simmon, Sealy, Tempur etc so i won't comment on them. Have vested interest in this, so that when i want to buy my next mattress, the distributor will still be selling this! Ordered a king size mattress + bed frame for MBR and super single + bedframe for bedroom 3. May want to use the guest bed for when my girl is sick... Currently have a cot frame for my dg (which she doesn't sleep in ). So will transport that to my new place. Beds are settled! -

i'm thinking of partitioning it to make some use of the suggested study area. However my floors and doors come inbuilt. Not a good piece of decision making in 2010 And it's not cheap as well. Almost 6k for that -

Standard 5 room size in suburbs. 110 sqm excluding 2 sqm AC ledge. -
Option 2 as the only one that will hide some wires... gotta put ur viewquest and bluray player there. Sound bar on top. Dunno whether it goes well with ur wall though. Do take note that the center of the tv screen should only be just below your sitting eye level. ideal is around 10 degrees below your eye horizon. Heh most people either leave the tv too high or too low...

Thanks. no keys no talk nope not really. will choose another company for servicing. Don't think they have a clause limiting to only servicing by gain city. though i may read thru the contract more carefully again. -

4.5 thereabouts with the 1+4 warranty. got another quote for 4.3+ from RT without additional warranty. didn't really shop around much cos of the potential issues with installation of aircons. -

First purchase for someone who has no keys yet... Decided to make use of our manhattan cards in cashback savings. Signed up with Gain City for Starmex System 3 for Bedroom 2, 3 and Living Room + inverter single split for MBR. Gain City's current promotion is free 1+4 yr warranty for aircons instead of $200 GC voucher. Price fluctuates with the weather. So homeowners may want to sign up before the usual rush for aircons in the next 1-2 months... -
Thanks for your help thus far! I will probably just use the AVR. Cos not so into music anymore due to time constraints. I'm not even that concerned about the 5.1 but it's just to play around so that my girl in future can watch her animated movies in 5.1 Hence maybe considering ceiling rears.
-
Sorry for the confusion. Just saying that my friend already has the marantz 1403. So yes it can pre-out.
-
my friend is using the same AVR so yup can. Yes my stereo amp think has a pre-out.
-
roger. the marantz 1603 i think is also a simple network streamer inside...

ironically GAB is the easiest one to quote. But u have to wait for them to search manually their catalog. They not in electronic world yet... -
thanks for your suggestion! OK so i need a streamer -> AVR if i still want music. Or if i'm not fussy, can get my Blu ray player to stream right?
-
Thinking of getting this NR1603, then use my old pm7001 to drive my B&W. no time to listen to music nowadays. More for a simple 5.1 system. May consider just getting cone speakers on the false ceiling just for the rear 2 ... http://www.marantz.com.sg/sg/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?CatId=NetworkProducts&SubCatId=AVReceiver&ProductId=NR1603#.UbmG2ufviSo my cdp just konked out recently...

Each network point needs 1 cable? 100/150mbps Fibre (starhub or myrepublic) my wife is more messy than me. No need to worry... i probably prefer the NAS and router to be exposed on top of a cabinet to allow maximal cooling. Cooling is most important for electronics. There are small wireless routers which can serve like a homeplug? The only area i think i need 2 points is ironically the MBR. One for the streaming. 1 in case the wireless signal is not full in the MBR haha. Another area would be my tv console area. Maybe will get a DAC ? to stream music to my old marantz amp with B&W bookshelves...
-
TP-link and prolink 5port gigabit switches are like <40 bucks. i guess reasonable investment. I may custom build furniture to hold the NAS, router and switches to hide the wires coming out from behind i guess. Probably get the wires to come down via the false ceiling behind the feature wall and to my router area beside it...
-
Hmm initially thought i may be able to skip the switch but ... Router 4 ports 1 - NAS 2 - ? set top box if starhub 3 - living room 4 - MBR 5 - study area... so 5 cannot -> 4 haha
-
if u want minimal wire mess which will detract from your theme. Then custom made or buy a solid piece with several racks. U have any blu ray? your viewquest? Any PS3 or amps?
-
how do the cables interconnect? is there a central node?
-
i know. the only thing i can't think how to prevent is fire. hence storage in a fireproof safe. Alternatively is regular backup of important stuff like photos to cloud storage. But worried about privacy issues with that
-
As above. I'm bit kiasi one. So thinking of NAS. Then ? a DAS as backup storage (? in a fireproof safe?) Mostly for my family photos archive... EDIT: Wah the words turn out so small. OK. Red is Router + NAS. Blue boxes are the keystone plates/LAN points. - MBR: TV + ? 2nd port in case wireless signal weak when door closed - Study area is for PC - Living room tv.
-
thanks will let my contractor know.

Thanks. 1st timer so probably go for Synology. Haha wife is Comp Engine background but i think i'll stick to something user friendly. ACRyan has given me many headaches in the past. So hope to not use it as necessary. Probably going to install a shelf to put bluray player + settop box above my MBR tv wall mount. Think monoprice has everything. I would need to get keystone plates x 2, keystone jacks x 2 and the cable i guess. But they only come without the normal RJ45 ends for the bulk 1000ft buys LOL. maybe i get them in singapore instead. What if i want to run a cable to my study area? how would the linkage work? sorry. noob here.
