  1. i'm removing them i'll keep the tiles though as that's too much of a waste.
  2. My taps and shower systems are here! Arrived in SG on thursday. Haha haven't even gotten a key collection date. So they are just lying around in my parent's living room. Fingers crossed that there aren't anything missing from the boxes they shipped in (haha i won't know until the plumber installs them) Here are the pictures! Common Toilet sink faucet - Grohe Eurosmart cosmopolitan This mixer is seriously heavy... Such a big shower head!! way bigger than i expected As compared to a tissue box!
  3. Love your blue mosiac tiles table. indeed it's very nostalgic for those of us who grew up in 80s and early 90s.
  4. What kind of bulb are u using now? Energy saving or normal incandescent?
  5. Pretty nice premium BTO. Wooden flooring looks good!
  6. Most people install the aircon piping fairly early on. Along the same time as ceiling works etc are being done. So that can be boxed up or hidden as needed. This should be after the hacking and tiling phase. The actual FCU doesnt need to be up so early. Can ask your contractor/ID when they need the piping to be up. In fact they should give u a time table of sorts.
  7. Hi how do you find the brightness of the PH5? I was intending to buy one from taobao but i think that the lighting may be too dim/diffuse based on what other people review. Planning to use it as a dining table light.
  8. yup temperature selection is important. my mum does a lot of roast pork and chicken wings ... yumyum Hmm, ok maybe see what my sis says abt the Tefal now that she's started using it.
  9. which brand are u using btw? I'm looking for one. My sis just bought the Tefal one in June. But my mum gave the thumbs down for that brand as she said it's way too slow compared to our old philips one (EOL now). My house has been using toaster ovens since i was born. heh so it's a must.
  10. i bought my bed and bedframe already. and i haven't even gotten the keys. my experience from my mattress shop is that yes, it's cheaper during GSS. How i know? Cos i bought in 2011 and 2013. the price during GSS this year is cheaper than 2 yrs ago.
  11. wow seriously old school haha the ventilation blocks. Cool but i guess comes of a price of cobwebs within the openings. Anyway, won't putting ur WIW further away from the MBR toilet be a better solution. Common problem with these are moisture right?
  12. Waiting for my keys. Almost same floor plan except your kitchen is more squarish while mine more rectangular. Also your toilet outlay is different. more pictures!
  13. Erm, for someone who might cook 1-2 times a week. Would you recommend one? We don't bake. Would it help in simple meal preparation? The only food my wife can prepare is baby food !
  14. On an unrelated note, What the SLT shop owners say is that best to buy a transformer significantly more than the required wattage. They say that over time and frequent use, the transformer becomes less efficient and goes to 65 - 70% of its designed wattage.
  15. haha it won't change anything. Delivery business is just not profitable enough period. It's not that they've forgotten their core business, they are precisely doing so to save costs. Outsourcing the sai gang and low profit to local courier companies.
  16. btw singpost doesn't do delivery since 2010 for saturday.
  17. I'm opposite. I prefer singpost for residential anytime compared to any local courier company. It's also luck dependent, based on your deliveryman for the location. the singpost courier for my parent's estate at least bothers to knock and wait for reply.
  18. ok, i stand corrected. But i don't believe in complicit assumption that saturday deliveries is standard. Anyway u can sort out with amazon. These courier/transport companies many are just fly by night one other than the big boys. It's an extremely low margin business according to some people i've talked to. Ta-Q-Bin and those what not companies are even worse.
  19. i'm sorry. if u want such good service from DHL which is excellent btw, then pay for expedited shipping
  20. eh to be fair to the guy, most courier companies only deliver during office hours. unless it's DHL then they deliver at night sometimes. And not including saturdays. So if u can't have any one collect these things during office hours, then don't order in the 1st place. Seriously, if i'm the courier guy why would i spend my off work hours delivering packages ??
  21. Over the weekend, went to Furniture mall (Toh Guan) to look for possible sofa, coffee table and dining table. Sorry, no pictures as my baby was getting cranky. So had to chopchop karlipok Walked around and went into Wynn Furnishing. Saw the sofa they did for my friend's place so decided to go take a look. Ended up getting a fabric cover high back sofa with memory foam. I don't like the feel of leather for a couch. Washable covers were a must. Also all the covers must be washable as inevitably there is discoloration after washing. Some cloth covered sofas only the cushion covers are removable, so those were no go. I thought that pocketed spring would be more expensive but apparently it's the other way round. For GSS, they had 2 free small pillows and a free cotton cover within the sofa. Service by the aunty was pretty good. Gave me 3-4 fabric samples to bring to show any future ID. Will take a photo when i go to confirm the details later on. Once again paid with manhattan card to make use of the quarter's 5% rebate. So beds, sofa gaotim already. Only left dining table and coffee table. Those will leave until actual reno is almost completed before deciding. I'm not a fan of how everything is mostly black and white in the furniture mall shops ...
  22. but i agree some of the patterns are quite nice and if really free shipping, quite reasonably priced!
  23. wah then i will pass. UK forwarding to SG is not cheap at all compared to USA. Haha i already added some items in the cart already
