  1. Erm this transformer thing, do i leave it on at 110v or 220v? Confused about what is "input"
  2. that's why i bought a small only bedroom size one. As above, someone on amazon measured max power of the little thing. The bigger model can apparently easily hit 170 watts. Thanks. Where to get 250W transformer anyway? SLT?
  3. wah seh, need so much? I bought a 100W newstar transformer yesterday from challenger.Should be enough for the smaller 17000.
  4. N95. i won't wear it unless SARS occurs again. I hate wearing it...
  5. I ordered a Honeywell air purifier after being caught with my pants down. Girl is coughing a bit currently due to the haze And 2 carbon pre-filters. Will need a transformer when it comes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000050AQ5/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003UH9I2G/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  6. all nikkor lenses are good hehe keep value well unless u choose something uncommon like what i have.
  7. haha kenrockwell . This is the "best nikon lens to date". He says that quite often for every new lens/camera. I used to read mansurov's review. Not so opinionated haha...
  8. ya 14-24. then 24-70 if your pockets are deep. 24mm isn't really wide enough.
  9. After my 2 overseas trip carrying a wide angle lens etc. i prefer just to carry one general purpose lens, hence my choice of 24-120 f4 vr. Then a 50mm for low light. And a tripod if i have a car. that's it... haha my love of photography doesn't extend that far.
  10. Haha i'll never go to such places. my parents went in 2012. They say retrospectively they won't go such places again.
  11. why didn't u just get a 24-70 f2.8 straight? my friend has that. it's good, just bit too heavy for me (sometimes my wife takes photos for me also). i compromised and bought a 24-120 f4 new. Cos i want VR... haha i have shaky hands.
  12. d200 is cool. James Balog used them to shoot the timelapses seen in "Chasing Ice". Dam hardy, constantly being exposed to subzero temperatures (albeit within a large case).
  13. bought it to photograph my baby. have a old D90. Bought d600 after baby delivered. Cos can take better HD video. ok la. i only use 50mm f1.8 and a 24-120mm F4 (this is general purpose for travel) I'm not a amateur photographer. Just someone who wants to take nicer pics of my family haha
  14. Heh ... i always think its the photographer not the equipment. haha maybe GND filters etc then really need B+W stuff. i think i can only utilise 10% of my D600's potential anyway so no need too good equipment. hmm maybe i look for an external mike to see if can reduce AF sound during the HD video recording. wonder if amazon got discount for that. looking now...
  15. anyway if u have children. Then amazon has a lot of children books and some children toys/accessories which are hard to get in singapore + cheaper. Comparable to bookdepository.co.uk.
  16. Lot of vornado "fans" here. From my other perspective, I've read some other forums, some people feel that it in a high humidity country. Not much difference from using a fan.
  17. lol i just use hoya filters. But i just shoot my family and my holidays.
  18. For our girls room, considering the one with 3 cows. Cant find a photo so here's the website http://www.lightings.com.sg/kidsplace.html
  19. Ok photobucket is working again. Considerations for dining table light: 1. Philips pendant light. Warm white bulb with a orangey feel... From SG/malaysia 2. Classic knock-off PH5 (likely get from taobao) These are 2 philips normal ceiling lights which we will consider. These come in square/round versions. The wood can be flipped around to provide the 2 colors. Pine vs ? dark walnut?
  20. i probably will as well lah. I'm only planning to stay about 5-6 years in the place. So no point going overboard Haha originally wanted to posted up some lighting i considered. But seems like after i moved them to a separate folder in photobucket, cant access liao. LOL.
  21. Coming close to 3 yrs since we signed up for the flat. Opted in for the Doors + tiles in 2010, not a good move on our part. Wait until collect keys, if really don't like the tiles then may just hack them though i think my financial sense will prevail... Just recently looked at the cost. initially i thought it was low 4k to do these, but now realised its almost 6k just to get the above. Should have opted out then!! Ok next post is more on lighting considerations...
