Seems like mine is "bare minimum".. I didn't do the glass stair railings coz I have kids n hate to clean. Haha.. I dun have built in cupboards except the kitchen cabinet. I did change the grilles to aluminum.. I did change all the doors too.. To me, honestly.. Reno is really totally dependent on budget. I met my budget but it might not meet your style. We like simple & practical. Pretty things are tempting. Latest trends are appealing.. But we tried to be as conservative as we can. I did almost by new furniture everywhere except my bed & dining table. So a bulk of my $ went to furnishings & fittings. My balcony has chengai decking which I friend did it for us at friend rates. My contractor doesn't come from a fancy big interior design firm.. So dun expect too much. Workmanship I find is not too bad. It's my 2nd time engaging him. He is honest in telling me what works n what doesn't. Arts Advance- Ivan -

I did my Reno recently at about 42k without electrical. I suggest u overlay instead of re-tiling if possible. That will save significant $. I did downstairs total revamp with over lay of vinyl tiles, hacked 2 walls to open up my kitchen to dining, hack out a small wall to make a bar counter to open up to the living room. 3 toilets n the kitchen. Stairs up just polish (?) the parquet. I do have L box n cove lights n I also re plaster my house from sand stone to smooth smooth. -

Haha.. then gotta wait till 7th month n see what creepy thing will happen. Actually i understand from the seller's POV. but there will still definitely be anger involved for the lies that he told. my main prob is really the house being left vacant for the last 17 years. my son at the 2nd week we moved in, said he was scared to sleep alone in the room. then i asked him why. he said there were ghosts. then i ask him to describe it. so if its an aunty ghost etc i will know what to do. BUT he said its big bad wolf in the cupboard. he is 4 la.. so cannot believe his nonsense la. keke.. so far so good. angry a lil but will eventually get over it. hoping 7th month nothing exciting will happen lor. =)

The wood is chengai so won't mould. It's an outdoor wood so supposed to withstand weather. Now still patchy coz just lay n sanded down. With time it will become a rich brown. My friend did it for us n it's about 20/sq feet I think. Depends on choice of wood too. Mine is friend price so it's cheaper. Evorich quoted me $3.5k if use their coconut wood thing. Mine is less than half that. I would say abt 2k -
anyway.. i met another neighbour and he told me he saw the body. and she jumped from the lift landing. BUT the house was vacant since it happened. He told me that for the years he has been here, he doesnt believe it is haunted and all and since we have been doing reno for about 2months already, everything seems smooth. moving day is this sat and sunday we are following the FSM's "enter the house ceremony" so hope from there on everything is good for us. tragedies happen i understand, maybe i really nv do enough homework b4 signing the papers but we are v relieved so far, there are no other major problems.

After last evening's v heavy rain.. i'm happy to find out that the acrylic panel worked perfectly! Rain didnt kena the door at all. $80 well spent =) However.. my balcony got it pretty bad. rain splashed in about 1m and i realized that the sliding door has a gap (coz there is no tracks on the floor) then potentially the rain water will seep in.. heng we did vinyl tiles instead of laminate.. if not byebye to the flooring. @jsll.. thanks thanks!! =) -
