Some updates on the carpentery works. Everything seems good and nice. The Cabinet at the kitchen The cabinet to hide the ugly rubbish chute, there will be shelving above it to hide all the jif, detergent toilet rolls, all those chemicals. The vanity trove in the common toilet, it's not yet completed.

My downlights from Lighthouse at Sim Lim Towers This one is the white light version for all kitchen and toilets. 6 inches. For toilet and kitchen i want it very bright so i can see clearly. I'll be confirming my curtains later! Will post pics. So far JW did an expats house, they are using mustard yellow. They are a danish couple and their house theme was grey and mustard. but mine will b off white though..

We felt proces are cheaper as compared to lighting houses, one downlight cost $98 in on shop at Balastier. The spotlight was about $95. The place we went was IT lighthouse Management 10 JALAN BESAR #06-07 SIM LIM TOWER Rochor Singapore 208787 Singapore Walk out of the stairs, immediately is the shop. Prices are about lesser than half. you can find cheaper ones from Aliexpess, ship it in from China, its even cheaper, but got warranty issues and cannot exchange...

Hello redmoonlight, i surf around and look at too many pictures. Sometimes i loose focus and ideas can be very chessy till my hubby can cringe and question my taste. I sometimes keep changing ideas till my dad feels like strangling me as he says i'm too irritating. I have to be constantly reminded to stay focus and not move away from the theme much. From my hubby's decisions and my dad's input, they seem to lean more towards the masculine, strong, serious furniture style. They dun seem to be adventureous with colors

Just purchasing of lights only is $1688 for the whole house include the LED spot lights, down lights of all rooms, toilets, kitchen walkway etc etc. I think its a reasonable price The LED strips go by meters, forgot the price also but definitely less than $700. To me lighting is very important, i want to create a visual illusion of a even bigger space but not with the expanse of having obvious huge lightings. Hence JW made a border cove ceiling which houses LED strips with larger beads to give that effect. The rest of the lights are rathered controlled and specifically must be small, strong, white and blend into the ceiling. Living room LED spotlights are all 3 LED lights 9 watts, thus its small but strong only $26 each. We chose LED spotlights because JW advice that since the cove lights are so bright and floods the room so much, we need to have some spot lights to hit against the walls to create the cosy hotel mood feeling. Bedroom LED downlights are LED lights at 9 watts, its 4 inch ones, smaller but bright. Its $40 each Kitchen and Bathroom LED downlights are 9 watts, its 6 inch ones, larger size. Its $55 All lights are Samsumg brand, more brighter.

A pic of my bench to put into my masterbed room. JW will make planks to add onto the adjacent bars to turn it into shelves to hold books at our bedside. We felt it was a great idea and adding more fucntion to the bench stool. My looks like the one one the extreme left n the one hiding under the table behind . It's medium tan timber color.

Love the dipping effect at the legs, was inspired by it! As for the space planning, JW didn't say much cos it's personal preference, but the laundry idea was by him as he didn't want me to kill the look. I was thinking of painting my rattan chair turquoise or mustard yellow and put it at the balcony... Dunno what color to choose to make it stand out a little. Was inspired by this pic. I have a big map... Intend to put it up somewhere but I scared it will be tacky and cheesy... JW thinks some of my ideas r tacky and tries to stop me... But I feel my map not as nice... Again i worry I'm bringing in cheesy elects n kill the look.

Ya that is what hubby said, cos the resale value may not be as good as some ppl wants to see the bathtub... BTW I have very very very weird planning for the 2 toilets (pardon me)... let me share Master bedroom: bed + side table + a tall bench (need to take pic, very hard to descibe the look of the bench) MBR cabinet : Hubby's clothes MBR toilet : intend to occasionally use it. if not will use to hang dry clothes such as underwear Bedroom 2 : 2 beds for the kids B2 cabinet : will put all my newer clothes B2 toilet : will put toyogo box which stores my kids clothes (i know this sounds silly but i hide the ugly box in the toilet) Bedroom 3 : Guest room 1 bed from ikea (cheap one $99, will cover with bed spread to hide any ugliness) B3 cabinet : will put all my extra older clothes and house my handbags taken from ikea from my lonesome shopping Bedroom 4 : Study room and play room (JW has designed a simple study table, haven't upload the 3D sketch) B4 cabinet : will put in IKEA Trofast storage shelves in it to store all the kids toys. hide them away! trofast drawers that will fit nicely into the cabinets Hence living room and dining room will totally be clutter free and no sight of toys or laundry. Most of the items will be kept in the cupboard and toilets... out of sight out of mind...

Redmoonlight! Hi there! Same! my hubby not around most of the time in SG. so shopping is a chore to him. He is so practical and solution oriented that he will quickly and hurry to get things fron ONLY one location. Like settle once and for all. Adidaem, your hubby is so so so so so sweet! He knows u so well and will cheer u up in such a nice way. No wonder you get all the lovely stuff in your home and its all the time showroom status!! Shopping for furniture takes a lot a lot of time and need to go to the shop more than once. Need to feel it, touch it, take picture, and communicate with contractor and ID on the pieces selected. We are fortunate that JW gives valuable and practical suggestions that is tailored to our lifestyle. Not hard sell and want us to reno a lot alot that kind. Ours is really is just a small project, most ID firms dun even bother us.

Thanks for your input, Hubby definitely goes for the form and function. I was rather reluctant as I wanted pointy legs, the one u like... but I had to give in cos I know if it's not his choice sofa, he would never sit on it at all... Cos currently our old Zen sofa was not his choice... He rather sit on the windsor chair

U r so lucky!!! Yr hubby will bring u shopping. I read yr blog on Tan boon liat building... I was desperate to go there but hubby ended up In scanteak...@tradehub 21. But Like what tortoisesg said, it's the form and function of the sofa that my hubby is attracted to. My hubby is v practical, he not into design. I feel sandwich at times and I dun have the final say... I dun exactly hate then sofa but after looking at more other brands. I feel that we should shop more and try more than buy it immediately...

I preferred the look of this sofa, a little more pointy the legs... Not the best of what I wanted but better than nothing... Again kena rejected...he say he paid for it so it's his choice Really no choice. JW ask me furnish it tastefully with cushions and other items, shift the focus from the sofa... It's the entire feel of the place. He even said a big TV can also divert the attention.
