Wow, I guess Beglas has a Big Bad service and workmanship. Lucky I didn't get the pole system from them, or else vomit blood!

Hi, I posted the around off figures for the major work. You can PM your email so that I can email you all the info. I think more important is you are comfortable with the contractor/ID, a look at his current project in hands for the workmanship and quality. For me is I use Mr Jeffrey without looking for other contractor since he has done up my previous house at Bedok well, My sis-in-law also use him for major and minor reno.

Corridor I use Besglas glass doors and bifold doors for my rooms and toilets. If can reverse time, I would just use my contractor instead of them, given the problem they gave. Lucky I got 10% discount by buying CaptiaLand Voucher during the promotion to pay for the doors, giving them in 410 pieces of $10 vouchers almost the full payment. An advise those who are interested to get, do check throughly after they installed the doors for any defect. You can inform them to rectify it if you saw stratches on it. On shower screen, ensure that they do proper sealing with silicon and putting plastic cover, after installation done , use your shower head to spray water on the joints to see if water leaks through. My wife has bad experience from their poor installation workmanship until they get another good team to do the job. They came 4 time to my place to do, meaning 4 half days gone.

Use them directly to save cost. They quote $80/ft before GST. You can try say Derren from Senja recommends to see if got discount. hee hee. The layer between top and bottom is black, otherwise is the colour what you choose.

Kitchen Cabinet I used Kompacplus's Kompac panel of Alaska Maple as my Kitchen top with lavender as the colour for glass backing. The thicker frosted glass behind sink looks good, can support more load from suction hooks. The only disappointment is the length of bottom kitchen drawer which is 480mm and not 500mm, thus I am unable to buy from IKEA for the accessories divider, only can get from BLUM - Orga-Line of the 450mm length.

OPSH wardrobe No complain on the workmanship. Good thing is got the offer price at EXPO.
-
Week 5 - Major Work cleared Major work completed, that including varnishing parquet flooring, wall & ceiling painting, sanitary & taps installation, Lightings Kitchen Cabinet & vanity top cabinet installation underway.
-
Good for you, my don't have the accessories for the drawers. The forward party which consist of me moved in, the rest of my family will move in before end of this month.
-
Still left the curtain to install today and IKEA furniture on Monday. Yesterday finally installed the glass backing for my kitchen cabinet, will upload the photograph of the kitchen cabinet soon. Would have specify the length of the kitchen cabinet so that can buy IKEA or BLUM accessories that can fit exactly, so next time know what to do. How yours? Did you buy from IKEA or BLUM accessories for your kitchen cabinet drawer?

That's a nice bed for her.

The cost is same as the Solid top surface. On care and maintenance section, I have soaked the sample in the water for >24hr and still feel the same after taking it out. If you have the sample, can try it with saking of water, oil, stratch it. On stratches is that it won't be so obvious compare to solid top. I believe everyone use heat pad or protective trivets to put hot cookware irregardless what type of top surface for your kitchen top. In the end is, are you comfortable to use the product, do you like the wood type of apperance and its thin thickness?
-
Sure, if you need the sample for kompactop, I can pass to you. They given me the sample for me to choose my cabinet top and vanity top and ask me to pass around for those interested.

Week 4 of renovation - Partition wall set up and electrical work Finally major work was completed on 29 Dec 2012, the workers were laying the tile skirting and cleaning the tiles before they left. However they would have to come back to do a small portion on the service balcony which I saw water ponding there. Good thing they put a tap there to take water and let me know the problem now. Otherwise I will only know when I do washing on the floor. Met the carpenter and electrican, finalized on the carpentry work and electrical work on site. Yes, there is a standard height for the swtiches and kitchen counter top, basins if you did not specify. As both my wife and me are >1.7m tall, we requested the kitchen counter top & basins to be 900mm from floor level so that we don't have to bend excessively. My MIL would probably be the one complaining when she come to my place to cook! For my kids, they probably have to bring their stools around to brush teeth, turn on the light.

Congrats! And a Happy New Year!

Selection of ID/contractor should not be a rush decision unless your relative or family have used them before and gave good comment. Cheapest may not be the best, there maybe hidden cost or lower tile price for you to choose. If you have shortlisted the Id/contractor, ask him to show you their existing project to see their workmanship. If projected is completed and owner is okay to show their unit, that would be even better as you can ask about their workmanship -
You may want to copy the original plan to MS words, then adjust the picture to size till the line of 3cm is 3000mm. Ise the draw tools to draw and hide those hacked portion. Hope this help.

I saw one similar on the right light at Urban Foundary at Seah St, the price is about the same but in SG dollar. Was when saw the price but was when you said >50% cheaper from taobao Next time would buy the lightings from taobao. I decided not change the all downlight for my new house to cut cost, only changing few bulb holder from PLC to E27.

Standardizing the height of light switches and power points Saw the height difference between two set of lighting switches in the Master Bedroom, it is a eye sore hence decide to set 1.5m for all the light switches and power points.

That's a nice lightings you have!
