the contractor who did up mine is quite good, on the beams and wall, can choose rough(beams) and smooth(feature wall) finish. but my contractor did mention that cracks will form eventually no matter what. As it is the characteristics of cement screed. Confirm cannot touch up the screeds as the grey tone will be different and look very ugly.

Guess it depends largely on the amount of work you are asking the contractors to do. They might give discount if you do more work, else, they charge by a minimum sum. Coz i did my kitchen and bathroom with the same contractor, 6 months later, decided to do come carpentry in the bathroom, but end up, my contractor charged at a higher rate as he said that its just 1 toilet cabinet base and the cabinet. But i still got them to do as they did a nice job previously.

the price varies, cox it depends largely on what kind of wall you need to hack, how it will affect the remaining structures. but PE endorsement is normally very expensive.

If you dun need to screed your flooring, then will need to hack small holes on the existing floor, then apply motar and lay the tiles. My tiler advise me to hack small holes so that the motar mixture can mix better with the existing flooring. That will ensure that there will not be hollow sound next time.

Normally contractors calculate by lump sum when its only some projects.

Marble is better, my tiler told me not to use ceramic on flooring as they are more suitable for wall tiles.

I went to several ID firms to ask for quotes to do up my bathroom and kitchen, the process is really tiring. But end up decided to use a tiling contractor instead because the ID firms dun really follow up on my case. The cons is that they wont design for you, but pros is that workmanship is good, cause they did tiling for 30 years.
