  1. I've been thinking of how to include some industrial elements in my bedroom (that is mainly white and ivory) so that it would not be too starkly different from my living and dining area. And I just discovered that there is such a term as 'industrial feminine chic'. Here are some examples... See the lockers at the side? photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr ID told me he's working on the design of the pipe shelf project for my dining room. Not sure what he has in mind but I'm sure it will be another great idea from him.. Hopefully I will be able to post before and after pictures of the entire flat soon! Also had a great time over the weekend browsing around some shops that sell industrial vintage stuff. it was so interesting chatting with the owners on the current trends of furnishings and on why they started the business. And as usual, I had a hard time resisting the temptation to buy. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  2. hi missy, hows your flat so far? Manage to get the contractor to rectify the stuff? Hope you are enjoying your new home now
  3. queen size, light colour wooden frame ....nowadays i see many faux leather bed frames and headboards...dont really like those...
  4. yup...i like to browse the website..some stuff are quite unique
  5. I'm looking for a double frame..but I dont think muji displays any of those due to space constraint. I went to the ion and paragon outlets.
  6. Yup, I went there..but didn't see anything I like
  7. Finally shortlisted a bed, thanks to Sarah833! Hope there will be more options in the coming weeks.. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  8. Managed to squeeze in a DIY project for my MBR bathroom today. Before pix photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr After pix photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr Unlike the clock project, I only distressed this frame slightly in order to preserve most of the white colour to match my room and toilet which are mainly white and ivory. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr Added 'dirt' to the trimmings and joints, as well as a slight 'crack' in the wood photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  9. Purchase of the day - bicycle lamp! .. (Honestly..I have no idea why it's called bicycle lamp..) photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  10. I shifted my stuff yesterday but I haven't moved myself yet. I'm still looking for a bed and I don't like living among boxes and dust. I feel tired just looking at the boxes... In fact, I went shopping after the movers were done.. Furnishing will take a long time bcos I enjoy the slow process of hunting for unique pieces.. ..
  11. Be careful not to buy too much before your Reno starts... Sometimes your colour scheme or decor may be revised over the course of reno and the things you buy won't be suitable anymore... So need to exercise self control.
  12. Hi Summersann, where did you buy the vintage trunk in the living room ? Roughly how much? the ones I have seen so far are too small
  13. Yes, they do.. Unless otherwise stated. Their customer service is responsive..you can email them if you have any queries
  14. Yes, it's not cheap. Unfortunately, it fell into my category of 'I must have it now!' products.. I think it's worth it bcos its a statement piece. I also think I should reward myself for working so hard on my Reno.
  15. Your mom will like me too...
  16. ... But with this huge 'monster', my room is now much smaller. I'm having trouble looking for a bed frame that won't take up too much space
  17. I got it from Urban Outfitters http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/index.jsp Look under apartment + online exclusives
  18. Finally sorted out the washing machine and track light problems today. I even managed to wipe my wardrobe. Now it's all ready to receive the boxes of barang barang tomorrow. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr I love the black inner laminate! The carpenter is really good and there is nothing I want to complain about after scrutinizing every inch many times in the past weeks. Soon all this space will be filled to the brim.. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr Also bought a little pot of plant for my fire escape rack, which is just next to the front door. Need to buy a couple more pots. It really reminds me of the fire escape in American apartments in hollywood movies. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  19. Thanks! How's your search for ID/contractor coming along ? You met Mr busy already?
  20. when I see this pix, I only noticed your bags! ... I have five shelves in my MBR wardrobe for bags... Haha
  21. thanks! I packed all my stuff today - 12 boxes in one day! Now aching all over....
  22. I will be moving my things over to my new pad this Friday. it was a hasty decision made today and miraculously I could find a mover. I decided I better get it over and done with before I get too exhausted to move even an inch. it's been really tiring the past months, as i had to do almost everything singlehandedly - shop for renovation stuff and furnishings, lug loads of things from shops to home (with no car), make all decisions big and small and now, the post-renovation clean up and of course the coming unpacking. Even with a good ID/contractor helping me, I'm still feeling the strain. And there are still problems to be solved - like my new washing machine which is not working, and a faulty track light. So no pix for the time being till I replenish my energy....
