  1. Hi, my ID is too busy to reply to me. If I'm not wrong, the pipes are just ordinary 1 1/2 x1 pipes that you can buy from any shop that sells pipes (see the measurements on the connector). The pipes had to be cut and welded to size. I think your ID should be able to tell you where u can get this done. As for the cost, I wouldn't know the cost price of these pipes and connectors. if you ever find out, let me know so that I can count how much my ID earned from me. Hahaha! photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  2. Welcome onboard! Hi, i didnt buy it. Its a housewarming gift. Thanks!
  3. Just contacted the movers to get them to collect the empty boxes from me. The girl who picked up the call asked if I would be at home on the public holidays. I said I would only be at home in the mornings but got to go to work in the afternoon. And guess what? She burst out laughing and said :" huh? You got to work on both public holidays." how insensitive! How dare she laugh at my misfortune! Boohoo !! Happy long weekend everyone! You guys are really lucky!
  4. Good Morning Mrs Foo! I think you deserve an award for being the most tolerant and most supportive wife! Not everyone can tahan a workaholic hubby.. He should pass you his entire paycheck!
  5. .DIY projects are too time consuming...! er... you should know very well since you married a DIY expert! hahaha...my fren said i can have my housewarming party next year..on the first anniversary of my key collection!
  6. Thanks! i try to have an element of surprise in every corner..but its more to keep myself entertained or else i will be quite bored. Your dog is soooo cute!
  7. Im waiting to see your completed house!
  8. Hahaha! im waiting to see your pix.. Hope you find your ID soon!
  9. Thanks Missy! My living room actually reminds me of my school..which used to be housed in colonial buildings! I just have to put in some old wooden desks and blackboard and i will be transported back to school days! scary!
  10. Thanks! i actually want to put in more stuff .. wish i have more time to shop or do DIY stuff.
  11. I was too preoccupied with cleaning the flat that I completely forgot about buying a wok. I only discovered I'm missing a wok when I was about to fry my noodles for lunch! so I had no choice but to use my tiny pan which is for frying eggs and pancakes. It's quite a challenge using such a tiny pan but it worked! photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  12. I think I'm worthy of getting an award for taking the longest time to buy my dining chairs. initially I thought getting the right dining table would be most difficult but it turned out that the chairs are more problematic and expensive! my custom made table was ready long, long time ago but I'm still searching for those elusive chairs. in the meantime, I'm using chairs left behind by the sellers. Quite mismatched but better than nothing ! photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr my living room needing more decorations to fill all that space..And the more I look at the living room, the more I think it looks colonial..rather than industrial Scandinavian.. I think it's because of the black track lights and fan.. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr The view from the front door...there is an 'entry' next to the tv wall bcos I hacked the wall. so my tv wall and tv console are 360 degrees. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr The console cabinet was made by the carpenter while everything else - the tv wall and the pipes were personally done by my ID. The pipes were originally in a boring brown colour but he colored them with black and silver paint to create a rusty industrial look. When I met the owners of some popular furniture shops recently, they told me they had trouble looking for skilled people in Singapore to custom make nice pipes for industrial design furniture. When I showed them the picture of the pipes, they said the pipes were very well made and asked for my contact. you can imagine their surprise when I said my ID designed the pipes and painted them himself. so kudos to my ID! photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr It's still very much work in progress. Need to put in more stuff to fill the space and walls. I'm still doing the mock ups for my blinds. This DIY project is turning out to be more difficult than I thought. I have already done like three different looks but still not happy with it. And there are still the pipe shelves which my ID is doing (or will be doing when he is free... Which is I donno when... Hahaha)
  13. hello!! After so many weeks of slow-mo unpacking and cleaning, I'm finally done! The things are unpacked and the floor is finally squeaky clean. And I'm proud to declare that there is NO MORE POWDERY FEELING!. kudos to myself for single handedly mopped, scrubbed, scrapped and vacuumed my entire flat! The time I spent cleaning my flat is enough for me to fly to Canada and back many many times! Here's my 'bistro' kitchen ... I'm still moving things around so that my kitchen is functional and at the same time, pleasing to the eye photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr A closer look at my 'secret compartment' - some of my switches are hidden in the first drawer. The pull down door can be pushed into the drawer so that I won't bang into it when cooking. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr The opposite side of the kitchen photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr View of dining area from the kitchen photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  14. I asked him where he got it from when I saw it and I think he mentioned he got lobang. I usually don't probe when he said he has lobang bcos even if he were to tell me, I also won't know where it is (I'm no good with road names).
  15. "And he is a good eye candy to work with" Your last line is soooo funny! post his pic here!
  16. Really love this vintage Parisian room divider.. will be good for shielding my room from the nosey parkers in the next block. But not sure if it will end up in my storeroom collecting dust. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr
  17. Thanks for the nice comment on the union jack chest! and pls convey it to your hubby. He said things like union jack furnishings will make my place looks like "man's cave".. i rolled my eyes so high!
  18. football? thank goodness you didnt say fish and chips! haha
  19. haha! i wont say he's responsible for my slow reno because I myself is slow in making decisions, fussy and perfectionist. But I think he is more fussy and perfectionist than me. Unlike other people who have to constantly worry that their IDs don't deliver, I got to tell him "nevermind ...no need to think so hard!"...
  20. one of my first housewarming gifts.. photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr photo.JPG by BachelorettePad, on Flickr ID thinks anything that has the Union Jack is manly...but I think otherwise... I feel that Union Jack stuff can be feminine too. When I see the Union Jack, I think of English high tea, William and Kate, Harrods, Spice Girls etc... :) What do u think?
