Rescue Or Replace Warp Laminate Floor
Charmainekce replied to congee77's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Hi, I suggest you let it dry for a few days if it still doesnt help then maybe you like to call up the company who install for you back then to ask them to replace for you since you still have some leftover plank over at your place. It will be easy if it is at one corner of the house however if it is in the middle of no where then i think more plank will be require -
Any Laminate Flooring To Recommend
Charmainekce replied to Annbb's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
you mean 18msq? If thats the case, yours is less than 200sqft. most company will bill you on a lum sum. However if you want a contact, you can PM me for a reliable company. But what i know it should be a little lower than $800 -
There are many things you need you look into before considering to take which brand: Origin from: If the brand is from europe country,it will be not recommended. Reason being that they are mend for 4 season and here in SG its a tropical country. Hence expandsion of the plank is way too fast. Thats when warping happens. Warranty: Have to check for the warranty. I agree with smart_user that you have to be very careful when it come to that. Almost all the company will promise you this and that. but when things happen all of them will just shake their butt off you. Ensure that their warranty is in house! Best if they can show you one to confirm. Installer: Ask if their installer are in house too. I have a few friends whom get into trouble with installer. Once job done and in time to come when things happen, they went back to the company and the company will just push the blame to the installer saying that its hard to find them or whatsoever reason they can come up with. And off they go again! I have a company that does great job personally. If you want you can PM me for the details. Just my thoughts about the issue. Hope it help (:

Hi, I think there are two ways to your case. Since its invaded with termites you can either get pest control to do something for you and overlay laminate flooring (some which is under termite warranty) or u can hack it away and replace with laminate. Personally if the invasion is still not so bad, you can get pest control to do something about it then just overlay. For the area you mention, the price should not be more then $800. (inclusive of GST) since its a small area. Hopefully it help (:

Hi, Below is what i can suggest base on my little experience while getting mine done. Area 1: Like i have mention earlier, you can try heaveatech as it give 10 years warranty and good workmanship. Area 2 & 3: If you like those woodish feeling but not those poppy feeling, you can try laminate flooring as well. It is heat resistance, abrasion resistance, water and termite resistance as well. I got it for 15 years warranty. My whole place is done by my contractor and their service are good, so far i have yet to far any issue. (: hope it helps.

Laminated Flooring
Charmainekce replied to Drexter's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Hi (: Not sure if it works but i know all laminate floor have a certain level of water resistance. The only issue should be at those corner where the plank is saw off. Laminate plank itself is coat with wax at all the 4 corners but once you reach the corner, you need to saw it off. Thats where it is expose. Hence if water slip in from the side, then only the flooring will be affected. I believe in the middle of the laminate if you spill a cup of water, there should be any issue. -

Hi, Just to share, AC5 does not cost so much $9/sqft. My brother did his flooring also using AC5 at only $5.50/sqft and come with 15 years warranty for water, stain and abrasive. It also include supply and install which mean he did not pay extra for the skirting. Maybe you want to search for more option before deciding. I agree with you the warm feeling. Especially if you have kids or elderly at home. i think laminate should be all good for them. -
Hi, Chengai wood is really good however currently in the market it is very hard to find mature Chengal as the demand for it is too high. However Chengai is a solid wood by itself, it will tend to have crack line seen after installation for maybe around 1 year plus. And if it get attack by termite, the whole piece of wood will be gone. thats for sure. If your planter area is say 40sqft, the price should not be above $1.2k.(inclusive of GST). I have 2 Bedroom with planter and 1 Planter box, Total of 106sqft and cost me about $3k (inclusive of GST). But i didnt use Chengai wood. Mine is from Heveatech done by Floor Option. From what i know from my contractor, its from rubber trees and its has 10 years of warranty against termite. It is 10 layers of treated wood compress into 1. For the min area for planter,i do heard about it. It must be at least a certain sqft if not it will be charge a lum sum. Maybe you will want to try Heveatech. Since its cheaper and better than Chengai (:
